She is Sasha...(Uber) Fierce! July 3rd, 2009. Beyonce Gisselle Knowles is for the 2nd consecutive year headlining Essence's 15th annual Music Festival at New Orleans' own Superdome. And we are there! Ne-yo is already working his magic! "And i just can't pull myself away...Come closer!" And Mr. John Legend is right at the heels of the most sought after song-writer/colaborator of "the day". Stately seated at the black baby grand he tickles it's ivorys as well as the two "ivorys" singing along... "We're just ordinary people. We don't know which way to go. We're just ordinary people. Maybe we should take it slow. Take it slow-oh-oh-oh-oh. This time we'll take it slow!" And doing just as the song so beautifully and simply states, we yeild to none other than the most Extraordinary of them all, "Sasha!" And "Fierce" is putting it mildly! She has sole control of her instrument. Inspired by the likes of such great entertainers as the late "King of Pop", Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Etta James, "The Queen of Soul" Aretha Franklin, Barbara "Babs" Streisand , "The First Lady of Gospel Music" Mahalia Jackson, and last , but most definately not least, "The Boss". I'm speaking of none other than the supreme Diana Ross! And when she covered the likes of Ms. Alanis Morrisette and Sarah Brightman...barely wavering from the styles of that of the original artist's recording, one realizes music truly is color-blind! But this Lady, however is Living Technicolor in this black and white we live in today! In her case H.D. stands for "Head Diva!" And if "Fierce " wasn't enough, she bids the crowd farewell with, " I am...I am...I am...Yours!" Hey, "she had me at 'hello'!"

I don't even know where to begin. Let's see, well, I am excited about going to see "Sasha...Fierce" as she heads up this year's Essence Fest. Line-up! It's gonna be a memorable night for me! To be able to bear witness to such talent and beauty in it's rawest form...LIVE!

And on a completely different subject, I've gotta get up outta this living situation. Our resentment for one another grows stronger each day. One month..that's how long I'm giving myself to be outta here and into my own. It's gonna take some serious sacrifice, however. No more luxuries of any sort.
