It is absolute garbage outside today. A very special mixture of ice, slush and rain that makes us want to stay inside, drink absinthe and watch music dvds. If you are about to freak out at your parents for asking what's next in life, we have a solution for you.

Moulinex and Xinobi have passed up the parts for the Disco Texas theme song, for the next installment of the No Big Deal remix contest. The winners will be selected by the boys themselves and posted up on their myspace page and blog.

The due date is Tuesday January 20, just in time for you to watch Obama get sworn and then find out why Locke was in that coffin. Please send all entries to nobigdealbk@gmail.com w/ Disco Texas Theme in the email.

And do not forget the party is going down at Europa on Jan 23 and at Kung Fu Necktie in Philly on the 24th.

Things get a little sluggish after a No Big Deal. Also, despite the terrible rain, we have been going out like we are 18 and fresh faced. We swear we don't look haggard. But never fear, it's still Friday and we wanted to give you the final word on last weekend's party with Passion Pit. Thanks to The Culture Of Me for snapping some solid photos, which can check out here.

We are happy to annouce the winners of the Passion Pit remix contest! We have 2 amazing remixes that we would like to offer us as the winners. The boys from Passion Pit have selected Wallpaper from Oakland , who got T Rex on the remix. The No Big Deal crew selected White Sirens as our personal best. We also have some runner ups that we feel should not be missed.

Sleepyhead (White Sirens Of Burr Remix).mp3 (No Big Deal fave)
Sleepyhead (Wallpaper. Dio Remix).mp3 (Passion Pit Champion)
Sleepyhead (LOL BOYS Remix).mp3
Sleepyhead (Elijah's Beat Generation Remix).mp3
Sleepyhead (Clack Singles Club).mp3

Thanks again to everyone came out. Our next NBD is January 23 w/ Moulinex and Xinobi US Debut and is going to be epic.

WHAT IS NO BIG DEAL?

No Big Deal is new art/music/remix collective project, and of course, party. Whoever you are, it doesn't matter, come for the love of music and art. Dance with your eyes closed. Go crazy, who cares. It's so not a big deal.

REMIX CONTEST

No Big Deal is about remix culture. An essential part of what we're doing is tapping artists that play our event to provide us with tracks to be remixed.

The first ever remix contest will feature SGT SASS. Check out the vocals from 'I'll take your man'. Winners will be picked by the people, and posted on Palms Out and FOTP.

Remix away, but don't miss the deadline on SEPT 21. Email us here with 'Sgt Sass Remix' in the subject line.

CALL FOR ARTISTS

No Big deal turns our venue Alphabeta into our own art exposition for the night. We are looking for talented artists and painters to transform the space into a gallery of their own work. You can paint on the walls. Seriously.

If you're an artist, painter, drawer, tagger, or whatever else, submit your artwork to be shown to everyone that comes out to the event. You'll be given exclusive space to paint or draw your work, special mention at the event, and photos of your work will be featured on our website.

HEY ARTISTS, the deadline for submissions is SEPT 21. Email us here with 'Paint The Walls' in the subject line.

Normally we are all about the late nights, the booze, the stranger balling, but this week, we wanted to show that we care about other things as well. Welcome to the very first FOTP Curated Arts Night at Galapagos. Alongside with our art director Anna Denbo, we have put together a stellar night of videos, photography and music.

We have something very special for our first night. We have been loving on the movie Four Eyed Monsters for some time now and we are brining you a very special night with the film makers. Arin and Susan will be on hand to show this unreal video podcasts and answer Q&A throughout the night. Below is the preview for the amazing movie. They are also screening the movie Cinema Village and you can buy tix now.

We will also be featuring the photography of Gregory Wilson, whose will be in attendance that night.

The event is FREE so come do something cultural in the middle of the week. That way, when you are blacked out at FOTP this Friday, you will at least feel better in the morning.

70 N 6th st @ Galapgos, Doors @ 10pm, videos at 10:30 pm
