The pictures on this profile are my virtual photographs which feature the Skins I make in PhotoShop and import into Second Life, an online 3D world imagined and created by its residents. I also make clothing, tattoos, accessories, buildings, and environments, and host art and live music events. In Second Life I own a store called: by miaSnow, where I sell these items, and also currently have a shop on SLEXchange.com under the user name MiaSnow.
My goal is to create interesting items for people to pimp their avatars with, which rise above the standards in Second Life and allow exploration of alter egos.

There are millions of unique users from all around the world inhabiting SL, and there seems to be something there for everyone. The world has built-in tools for 3D creation, and a basic account is free! So it has opened up a whole new realm for creative discovery, art, fashion and architecture, for people who wouldn't normally have the money to purchase expensive 3D software, with the added bonus of being a social platform. SL just turned 5, so it's relatively new. Linden Labs, who own and operate SL, often release updates to increase functionality... but at this point seems to mostly appeal to the rather hardcore, nerdcore creators, and also millions of people seem to use it as a glorified chatroom and make use of what others made. You will definately see Second Life's popularity grow over the coming years, with more celebrity appearances, big name live bands, and innovative 3Dimentional integration with online experience.
One of the most luring aspects of Second Life, is the ability to make real money. There are real estate agents, dancers, models, designers, builders, store clerks, actors, personal assistants, translators, scripters, artists... the list goes on.
Some people who have little online social interest must think I'm nuts. But I'm having experiences in SL which form some of the most beautiful dreamlike memories, and it's opened numerous RL doors which I never would have found otherwise, such as owning my own store and being invited to create and display art in RL museums and galleries. And yes, RL still holds my interest too^^
