The birthday Girl was created as a response to my 30th birthday. I wanted to make a piece that celebrated my age, while showing the panic I was feeling at growing older. In a true test of my stamina, I consumed 30 cupcakes in one sitting, my attitude quickly disintegrating from happiness to sickness and disgust. The audience watches the birthday girl struggle to eat her birthday cakes, and as she finishes one, another magically appears in a seemingly endless trail. She is reduced from joy, to sickness and hopelessness by the end of her trial.
