Here's a teaser, go visit The Big Distraction for the rest.

........
Roller derby is enjoying quite the revival across the nation and Drew Barrymore's directorial debut, Whip It, is going to be a big step in bringing Roller Derby into the spotlight. With a cast including the likes of Ellen Page, Marcia Gay Harden, Juliette Lewis, Eve, Daniel Stern and Zoe Bell, Whip It brings a great mixture of comedy and drama that will be sure to entertain. I walked out with a smile on my face and can you really ask for more than that?

Here's a preview of my latest write up. You can read the rest at Film Fanatix or Big Distraction.

For those not in the know, Kevin Smith, director of such cult classics as Clerks, Mallrats and Dogma, tours this great nation seemingly with the intent of bs’ing with every person on the planet. September 19th , at the Michigan Theater in Ann Arbor, MI, was my day to be in the crowd while Mr. Smith literally charmed the the pants off of at least one audience member. Yes, you heard me right. I’ll explain in a bit.

The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (TAOJJBYCRF ) is a movie that most average moviegoers will either love or hate. I tended to find myself more interested in the way the story was presented than the story itself. Story wise, it’s about 40 minutes too long and seems to plod along at times, but is bearable. What kept me interested was the lack of glorifying the “Wild West” in general and the matter-of-factness of the violence during that era. No big hand cannons or wild horse chases here. Gunshots are not padded or emphasized, with most little more louder than a firecracker.

For the sports fans, I present Anna Kournikova.

For the men who want to be shocked, here's Jodie Sweetin. You remember, from Full House?

And while we are visiting Full House, let's stop by and see what Sabrina, the Teenage Witch is doing.

For the dorks, a hot Jedi. Aayla Secura ( I forgot the actresses name). Brownie points if you can tell me her races name without looking it up.

And a semi-random babe. By that I mean Sienna Miller isn't on any of my lists but I saw this pic and had to share.

Alexis Bledel. Recently watched Sin City again and she has great eyes.

Teri Hatcher still has it. Need proof? Here you go.

Last this week is Cameron Diaz. She isn't on my list but I'd like to just hang out with her. Goofy girl next door right?

Sam Raimi’s latest effort, Drag Me To Hell is obviously a return to what made him a success – The Horror Comedy. In short, DMTH is a moderately successful blend of Evil Dead and Thinner. Christine Brown (Alison Lohman) denies an old Gypsy woman an extension on her mortgage and is cursed. In three days a spirit called the Lamia will come and drag her to hell. But before that it will of course, torment the shit out of her.

The films success is in it’s bare bones approach.

So we azre pretty much settled in and I have caught up on my surfing. What did I find? A freaking ton. Here's 15 pics top make up for lost time. Enjoy!

No particular order btw.

Emilie DeRavin. Little blondes used to be my weakness, until I met a certain redhead.

Mariah Carey. Don't give me any crap. I don't care if she's a psycho or a prima donna. You see why I like her.

Alexa Vega. Spy Kid all grown up.

Eliza Dushku. I know she was in the last edition, but if you remember, I had hinted that I had a pic that would knock your socks off.

Erica Durance. One of the only two reasons left to watch Smallville.

Anna Paquin. Who else is looking forward to season two of True Blood?

Drew Barrymore. Still number one on my list and you can see why.

Hayden Panettiere. Bikini. Need I say anything else?

Evangeline Lilly. Another lost girl. Sometimes I find her attractive, sometimes I don't.

Gillian Anderson. Another pic that speaks for itself.

Tara Reid. Yep, she used to be hot.

Jane Krakowski. We have recently discovered 30 Rock and while she can be annoying, she does have her sexy moments.

Megan Fox. This is a cap from Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. This movie just became number one on my must see list. Hell, I may even go see it in IMAX. Just because of this pic.

Jennifer Love Hewitt. Number two on my personal list. She just had her hottest photoshoot ever in Maxim magazine. Need proof? Here you go.

Olivia Munn. Damn near the perfect woman. Great sense of humor, likes games, raunchy and yet still one of the guys and sexy as hell.

So I hope you enjoyed the extra big edition. See you next time.

It's almost official. We close on our first house tomorrow and the current owner is doing his damnedest to be out by Monday. The original plan was to close today, with the owner having 30 days to vacate. That meant that we would have taken possession mid-May and taken that two weeks to paint and pack and shop. Finally moving around the first of June. Now it looks like our last day at our current apt may be May 3rd. Does that rock or what?

Now begins the madness of packing, painting, shopping, getting the utilities switched, picking out a cable company and all of that craziness!

Any of you in MI or who will be for the 4th of July, we are planning a 4th party. All day long, stop in for 5 minutes or hang all day, no obligations to stay. Have more details on that as we get closer.
