It has been a short while but we our proud to announce our first CD entitled "short while ago" will be released on June 7, 2008!!! It has been about a 9 month project in total, not too long, but musically that seems like a geologic era.  We are so excited to get out there and play the album, get feedback from critical ears and prepare a new album.

For clips & photos check out www.threetallpines.com  The CD will be avavliable online on June 9.  Be at the festival below to have the first copies at a discount!!

So, the next question is when do we kick back and party, that is easy, we are planning to celerate the release at the Bluegrass on the Bogs Bluegrass festival June 7 & 8th.  http://bluegrassonthebogs.org/  This festival is the perfect place to let loose; small intimate crowd, great picking, a late night fire pit and tons of good local and regional music and food (plus it is cheap).  We plan to ensure that there are plenty of libations to get everyone through the 7th and into the sunrise on June 8th!!!!!

We hope to see you all there!!! Keep in touch!! We are still alive!!!! The smurfs are still alive!

Good AM, it is a warm 40 degree Jan day in Boston today. Strange but really nice.

Thanks to everyone for coming out to the Nameless Coffeehouse on Saturday 1-5-08 it was a great time for us and hopefully for everyone.  We really enjoy playing this venue (and not just because we can get home without much driving) for a lot of reasons.  The green room can be great here.  There was some good ol jams on Whiskey Before Breakfast etc... back there Sat. with almost everyone particpating. The sound staff is great as well as the general staff. Good late night party next door!

Let us know any comments you have about the sound/venue.

Brad Meyers and Jenny Goodspeed started the night off followed by one of my favorite local songwriters, Micheal Troy.  Check out some pics below and on the Nameless Website: http://www.namelesscoffeehouse.org/photos.htm

Keep your eyes wide open for our new CD release coming SOON!!!!

TTP kicked off the New Year with some great tunes.  But not the kind of music you are probably thinking of!!!

Here are some photos, I think they speak a thousand words:

It really is too bad Rock band doesn't come out with a Miles Davis or a Del MCCoury version! HA.

When Dan Bourdeau is wearing a pink boa you know the party is in full swing.  Wish a bunch of other people could've been there, but it was last minute plan.

We will be playing the Nameless Coffee House in Harvard Square this weekend (Sat. 1/5/08). Hopefully this will be our last gig before the CD release (named 'A Short While Ago'). The nameless is the oldest American (all volunteer) coffee house.  It is a great space, in a great area.  If you get a chance to see a show there it is great (why not this weekend, hmm, ?). There are always a bunch of people on the bill both local and national.

The CD is in it's final stages now.  Our thumping bass master, Gian Pangaro, has taken on the task of art work for the CD jacket and it looks incredible. I will post some of his alternative jackets after the CD iscomplete (pretty funny stuff, The Atari Pines is by far my favorite). And a good friend of ours in Vermont, Jacob Snyder and Chris Smith both of The Don Loans Project, have taken on the task of mastering the final mix from Mark and Boo Boo at Signature Sounds.

Check out the video posted in our comments by our frineds Uncle Earl, sweet video. Happy New Year!

Goodnight Irene, See you in my dreams........

It is raining in Boston, on a holiday weekend, nice and lazy day. Perfect day to do NADA.....

As the year closes out it is only appropriate to share an update of TTP's latest recording project. We watcehd three seasons morph at Signature Sounds Studio in beautiful Pomfret, CT (near Putnam) in a converted barn/studio.  At the helm of the board was our engineer Mark Thayer and his sidekick BooBoo (a dog).  Utilizing the same control board used to mix the sound for the movie "Hunt for Red October" (we almost used Red October as the album title) we weaved togeteher a 13 song disc called "Short While Ago" that we are proud of.  The disc will be released sometime in Jan, more details to come.  It's been a hile since we've seen a lot of people, so we apologize and hope all of your holidays are going well. Send us an update. Check out some studio photos below....

Well, Black Maria is one of Dan's newest tunes (really hot).  But thet inspiration for the song comes froma real historical mining wagon.  About a century ago men (and most likely some women) would leave their families begind to mine for long periods of time.  The men who were killed in the mines were wrapped up and placed in a wagon that would take them home when the work period was over.  This wagon was called the Black Maria and hence the name of our song.
