Current mood: adventurous
I sorted books today, books about penguins and bedtimes and opposites. I sat on the floor for a long while and ordered them by height. This is my brave new world. You think I'm joking, but really for me, this is a great challenge, to live in the moments I find myself in and trust that it's where I'm supposed to be. It's easy to love a sticky, pudgy 2-year-old who shows all her teeth when she smiles and gets excited about cranberries, which she calls strawberries. It's hard to keep the buzz going when the day is quiet and long and I think about my past life. This is what living a balanced life requires of me right now. In some ways I feel like I'm watching the whole world pass by and move on, while I sit still, sorting books. Most of the time, I just feel lucky.
