WHOA! Only five years ago, I met Melissa in the parking lot of the Hampton Inn. Not for the reason you're thinking, but b/c it was a neutral place where two yahoo instant messenger friends could meet. Japanese Steakhouse and Build-a-bear... our first date.

That was the beginning of a life spent together, one filled with job changes, moves, lots of love, a church that we could pour ourselves into, and best of all a child. While there have been many ups and downs, being together has changed us in ways we never imagined. You never probably guessed how many comedic moments our lives together would provide... it seems as if I'm always doing/saying something that makes us both laugh. Now you have a mini-us who seems to make you laugh just as much.  While life is hard right now, and your sense of security has to be with God... He doesn't provide sheep without a pasture for them to graze, nor does He lead us down a path without purpose... and so we continue to grow closer together.

Melissa, I love you. Your quiet love is amazing. You are a great mother, an awesome wife and I look forward to many more years with you.

Love,
David... you know... the guy who sleeps beside you... lol.

Bryan was a friend to many. He didn't know what "no" meant when you asked him for help, all he knew was how to be that friend who was there just when you needed him to be. With his strong southern draw and his witty comebacks he could always make you laugh, or at the very least smile. His work ethic was an example to us all and put many of us to shame. He will be sorely missed but long-remembered. He took pride in every project he involved himself in. He had the greenest lawn in Horry County, one his neighbors and friends envied.

From the times you'd have to wake him up at K-group cuz he'd worked so hard that day to the times he'd be cutting up with Stacey and making her blush in front of the rest of us to the times he'd talk about how luck never seemed to find him or Stacey, you always knew where Bryan stood.

Whether you believe in luck or not, if you knew Bryan you were the one who was lucky. Now, he is the one who is finally lucky to be with God, and though you are sorely missed we will see you again. Thanks for always being a friend.

WOOO HOOOO!!! GRAYSEN IS BORN!!! Momma and baby are doing well, especially for enduring 27 hours of labor. He is such a quiet baby and recognizes both mom and dads voices. Scarily enough, he looks like me in my baby pictures. I'm hoping he looks more like his momma as he grows up.

A year ago our family lost Earl... he was gone so quickly and yet this year has gone by so slowly. There are pink flamingos in my backyard that remind me of his joking nature and a flag that will be at my front door today to memorialize him and his passion for our country.

I miss him terribly but know that the cancer that ate his insides would have eaten his joy for life had he known he had it and am glad for him that God allowed him to go home the way he did. I am only sorry that I didn't get a chance to say goodbye the way I wanted to before he left, the things that were left unsaid, did he know how much I loved him, did he know how much he taught me about life, did he know how many practical everyday things I picked up on from watching him... does he know that I'll teach my son/daughter that stuff so that the legacy of Earl can continue to be passed down and live on even though we are without him.

While I miss his jokes... his, "wanna speak wit ur mudder?", his obsession with fireworks, firearms, racing, and America, his endless pranks, and his endless desire to see all the children in his life succeed - I could not see him in a hospital bed, God knew what He was doing and someday I will be able understand that and be okay with it... I'm not there yet though... I really miss him.

Went to see Nacho Libre... funniest movie in a long time. You have to go see it because Nacho does not take rejection well.

If you liked Napoleon Dynamite the second time you watched it... you will like this the first time you watch it.
