I'm still doing mailorder as long as I have records and shirts in my basement.  Please feel free to buy stuff on the main page.

We have some new items up as well - red logo shirts, Jersey's Best Prancers on 12" and our final EP That's It Bye also on 12".

Coming soon: Ergs/Teenage Bottlerocket split, Ergs/Measure [SA] split, and the Thrash Compactor EP

Hey gang, while we Ergs will be lacing up our boots for the last time on November 15th, we've still got a few more releases coming out while we take our collective parting gasps of air.  Here's what is coming down the pipe:

"Hindsight is 20/20, My Friend" 2XLP Dirtnap Records - Due to some Nirvana related red-tape and a bad test press from the plant, this was delayed after the CD release of "Hindsight...".  This will feature a gatefold cover with a full version of the collage in the jewel case tray in the CD version, as well as liner notes by Mike Catalano of Hunchback and Mike Faloon of Go Metic/Egghead./Kung Fu Monkeys.

"Jersey's Best Prancers" LP repress Don Giovanni Records - Hey, it's coming back out!  Typos have been corrected!  The record itself has real labels!  I believe this is what people in the industry refer to as "the deluxe edition".

"That's it... bye!" 7" Don Giovanni Records - As Mike stated in the last blog, this is the set of the last original Ergs songs.  Double A side - "Anthem for a New Amanda/And the True Believers" on one side, "Piltdown Man" on the other.  Artwork by Mitch Clem.

Ergs/Teenage Bottlerocket split 7" Suburban Home Records - Part of the under the influence series.  Each band covers a song by a band that influenced them.  We did a Devo song.  Again, artwork by Mitch Clem.

Ergs/Measure [SA] split 7" No Idea Records - We agreed to this ages ago, and, break up be damned, Fid is going to hold us to it.  We wrote a song for The Measure to play and they wrote a song for us to play.  Should be good times.

"Thrash Compactor" one sided 7" Firestarter/Grave Mistake Records - I don't know why it takes two labels to put out half a record, but it does.  We recorded some hardcore-ish material in 2003.  It never came out because we were always going to record more songs to warrant a full 7" release.  We never finished the other side (we recorded one more song a year ago) but it's still coming out.  The Ergs never compromise on laziness.

So you get a couple of represses and 3 and 1/2 more 7"s before we kick the bucket.  Not bad for a band on its death bed!

-Joe

PS - Somewhere down the line, a Kid Dynamite tribute record may come out.  If it does, we have a song on that ("fuckuturn").

ok. well, it looks like you guys knew us better than we knew us. the ergs are calling it a day. jeff is leaving the band and it wouldn't be the ergs without him. we'll be recording the last couple songs that we've been working on and releasing them on a 7" this fall. we have a bunch of really great shows coming up with some really great bands that we never thought we'd get to play with. our last show will be in new jersey in mid november. more info on that as it becomes finalized. thanks to everyone who listened to us, came to see us, or helped us out in any way. we've made a ton of great friends and played some of the best shows a band could ever want to play.

thanks and see you at the shows!

We're not breaking up.

Dirtnap Records and The Ergs present "Hindsight is 20/20, My Friend" Volume I - a collection of Ergs singles and compilation tracks.

Contained within this release are all Ergs tracks from the nine 7"s we've released (including the "Naked Lady Firehouse" EP that came with certain copies of "3 Guys, 12 Eyes"), the 6 compilations we've been on, and the one 3.5" floppy disk single we self released.  Essentially, if we released and it wasn't on a full length (or half-full length), it's on this compilation*.

This will of course be made available on CD for all the lame-o's who've never owned a record player and also on double LP for all the effete Obama-voting snobs (you damn "elitists"!) who are too good to own digital media.  The double LP will have a big gatefold cover and additional liner notes from Mike Faloon of Go Metric Fame and Mike Catalano of Hunchback infamy.

We should have copies of this a few days into our tour and it will be officially released in the coming months.  See you on the road, dummies.

*There are two live songs from a compilation CD we were on that were not included on this singles comp.  However, you can download the entire set they were taken from at wfmu's website.  Also, they were not exclusive songs so don't worry about it.
