TOM & RUPERT FUCK UP MYSPACE YET AGAIN!!

MYSPACE MUSIC PLAYER POP-UP ADVERTISING.

this is a new low. seriously.

this is disgusting for myspace to be doing this to bands - especially small unsigned artists who have a hard enough time being heard - now on their own page, their music is constantly interrupted by ads for artists on major labels!

if they're going to do this - the revenue raised for such advertising should go to the band whose music player is being used as an advertising tool for other bands who can afford to advertise everywhere else on the internet without resorting to hijacking the music players of every other artist on the website.

it's not like myspace is running out of money with the thouands of other ads covering every last corner of our profiles, yet they have to resort to such rude and intrusive tactics. this is more proof they have no regard for anyone on this site unless they can make a dollar out of them.

i thought with people leaving by the truckload to other sites of late they'd try to create a more user-friendly site to keep people here, rather than drive them away with more and more spam, not to mention their lovely system that blocks almost every safe & legitimate link on earth in order to stop spam & phishing, when in reality, it's their own site programmers and apps that are the ones doing most of the spamming and phishing.

it's to be expected though, as rupert is in control here, and he is even putting forward plans to charge his users to read the news on his other sites - something that is free to do everywhere else in the world. the worst thing so-called tom did was sell this place to him. good for himself, yes, but bad for the site & its users. now it's just a cesspool of advertising, and a once level playing field is once again being obliterated and dominated by those with the cash to kiss myspace's ass.

this kind of thing is what has always pissed me off about this place, and no matter how many people speak up about it, nothing changes. our space continues to be their space, and everything that was great about this place is systematically being removed and replaced in order to make a few more bucks in the bank for rupert.

fuck you tom and rupert, you greedy bastards.

we hope the people of samoa & tourists alike, come through this disaster.

words can't describe what it must be like to watch those you know & love buried alive in mud or washed out to sea. such is the fate of hundreds of families tonight.

australia has close ties with samoa, and i'm sure we'll do all we can as a nation to help where we can.

an earthquake in indonesia has also just occured near sumatra. no clear word yet on the extent of the quake...
