Well, it's the middle of December now, and I've been running a little experiment in selling my music at a discount, and donating half the proceeds to United Way Toronto. You can read about it here. I started mentioning it on December 1st, at my open mic night at Slack's, and at five other shows so far. The online part only began last week. Most of the people who come to shows, and/or follow me online are from Toronto, and most of them already own a copy, or multiple copies, of one or both of my cds so let's just say I wasn't expecting miracles...

I'm a little surprised by the results so far. Especially the amount of support that I've received from outside of Toronto. 44% of it! With Germany and the U.S accounting for 18% of that. So Toronto support is just over half, with 56% of the money raised so far. I'm pretty happy with that, but just because you may already own my music, doesn't mean you can't pick up more copies for your friends, clients, mothers-in-law, or someone else as a holiday gift! Or just keep a few on hand as thank-you, or dinner party gifts over the year.

Have someone you know check out my music at cdbaby.com. While they're there, they can grab a free song download - "Everybody Pays" - and purchase a full cd download for just $5. Or, a single song for just $0.99. Every gift matters and every dollar counts.

The sale price of $5 ends December 31st, 2009 but there's still 15 days and 2 more Toronto shows. Thanks for your help!

Thanks again for your continued support,

I got a lovely phone call the other day informing me that my song, "Not Mine" placed in the top 5 of the Pop/Adult Contemporary Category in the 10th Annual Great American Song Contest!

The 2008 contest had over 1500 entries from 40 countries around the world. It was nice news over my coffee.

:D

There are now four tracks in my player from my upcoming release, "Thinking of You".
My apologies for removing the live track of "Without Your Hands" to those of you who liked that one. I just wanted to change things up a bit.

Unfortunately, computer speakers coupled with mp3's are not the best playback option - particularly on "Never Be Afraid of Love" which opens with a bass line, but you'll get the gist. This is why you will want your own copy of the actual cd!

I'm looking forward to seeing you at a show in late November/early December so you can get your advance copy before it's released on December 4th 2007!

Credits -
Kim Jarrett - songwriter/acoustic guitar/vocals
Mike Costantino - bass/backing vocals/drum programming/producer/engineer
Tim Bovaconti - electric and/or steel guitars (Not Mine, Hypnotizing, Thinking of You)
Eric St-Laurent - electric guitar (Never Be Afraid of Love)

Hope you enjoy!

I have decided to officially release my cd, "Thinking of You" on December 4th 2007. Why? Because it is not only a Tuesday, but it is also my birthday. Happy Birthday to me.

I'll be posting some tunes here on myspace very soon.

I look forward to sharing them with you, and seeing you at a show in December where you can pick up your copy!

So I can't sleep so I was surfing around this fun place we call myspace and lo and behold to my surprise, I've made the myspace "Top Artists" page for today.

Not the entirety of myspace of course, because really - I'm from Canada. Who the hell knows me? Hardly anybody but you I guess if you're reading this, but anyway - to get back to it - I'm Number 72 out of 100 in the Indie & Roots Music categories in Canada.

I find this pretty amusing and fun so I had to share.

That's all for now.

Thanks :D
