The Tweed River Festival will be taking place on July 3,4 and 5 in Stockbridge, VT at the junction of routes 100 and 107. Tickets are $40 per person for the entire weekend which includes camping. General admission is $20 per day (music only/no camping). Kids under the age of 12 are free. There will be absolutely no alcohol for sale on the premises so it is a BYOB affair. Please use ultimate responsibility in the use and disposal of any alcoholic beverages that you bring in with you. There will be no dogs allowed as this can create chaos for the general audience and the little ones.  There will be amenities such as toilets and water. There will be vendors selling food, clothing and whatnot. It is highly recommended that you bring food, water and camping supplies if you do decide to camp. There is a swimming hole located at the back of the premises. It is beautiful and pretty gentle but we ask that you use caution and swim at your own risk.  This will be a RAIN OR SHINE event.  We stress that all of those who plan to attend should exercise good judgement, good behavior and general respect for the the people putting on the event, your neighbor next to you and most of all the earth that we live on. Please pick up after yourself and encourage those around you to do so as well. Thank you and we look forward to a great turnout for a great weekend of music.

"The Cush: Burlington's First Ever Artist of the Month!

Burlington's first artists of the month,The Cush, are more than deserving of this humble title. This husband and wife duo originally out of Dallas, Texas, decided to call Burlington their home after recording their first EP - definitely a brave move! The Cush are one of the strongest touring indie acts to come out of our little northern city.

Their music might surprise those who are only able to connect Burlington to the sound of Phish. Though they're a duo, the Cush is still able to experiment with harmonic vocals and electronic and twangy mixes that back up their intimate but intricate sound. They've got an undertone reminiscent of the more melancholic Death Cab for Cutie, without sounding overwhelmingly pop.

The band is currently promoting their second full-length recording, "New Appreciation for Sunshine", put out by the Undertow Music Collective. An appropriate title for a band from a city that gets about as much sunshine as Seattle, this certainly sounds like it was written during the cabin fever months we experience up here.

They're on an extensive New England tour this summer that includes residencies in Philly and Brooklyn, as well as a stop in Montreal, Canada. Tomorrow, May 6th, they start their residency at Pete's Candy Store in Brooklyn, and they'll return there on the 13th between dates at The Fire in Philadelphia on the 7th and 14th of this month. Each of these shows begins at 9pm.

The Cush is back in Burlington on June 27th the to play a special acoustic show in Parima's Acoustic Lounge!"

Hello friends,
We hope you all had a swell new year.
We are currently in Texas. Hard at work, writing, and recording songs for our next release. We have around 8 songs in different stages of completion. It's sounding pretty good to us.

We are planning on heading back north in March, and some exciting date and record announcements will be coming through over the next few months.

Also, we've announced some dates in the Texas area over the next couple of weeks.
Check them out. We would love to see you.

Some exciting news is coming…stay tuned.
Thursday, September 06, 2007

I know it's taken a little while to get this posted, but it's taken me a little while to get settled back into civilian life.

We were asked to come over and play the first annual Dream Machine festival in the UK, as well as a few more London shows.  We were planning on going with the full band, but the travel details and work visa info was worked out so last minute that everyone couldn't make it due to money and work schedules. Such is the life of an independent band.

Luckily, our old friend Cody Lee from TX was able to go and play drums for us. Gabby and I played in a band called Buck Jones with Cody from 93-2000.

Our sound as a three piece was a little more stripped down than usual. It left a little more space for the harmonies and delay sounds.

We flew out of Boston on August 19th and stayed with our new friends Elaine and John in London.

our first show was on the 21st at The Social in London as part of the Health and Happiness show. Health and Happiness is a country and roots club night that happens at different clubs in London once a month. We felt kind of funny being the only Texans at the club on a country music night, and we were the ones playing space rock.  All was good though, Nat, the person that hosts the show also hosts a night called Sonic Catherdral, which is a psychedelic space rock themed night. He said we'd be fine on the Health and Happiness show. There are country elements in our music anyway, so we just went for it and did our thing. The crowd was great. George Wendt (Norm on Cheers) was in attendance, which added to the surreal air.

The Next night we played at 93 Feet East on Brick Lane in London. This was a nice sounding rock club. We played with Sunsplit, The Quarter After, and Astreroid 4. So, all american bands that night. The club had an 11 o'clock curfew and we were the last band that night so we had to cut our set short. Unfortunately that happens.

We did get another show the next night at The Macbeth on Hoxton St.  Very cool room with very friendly and accomodating staff. I played through a line 6 amp that night and it sounded alot more amazing than I would have thought.

The next day we had a little bit of time to see the sights before heading up to the festival. We went to Abbey Road of course. Then to Hyde Park to see the Queen's crib.  Then we took the train up to the small village of Bradfeild where the festival was.

The Festival was held at The Strangers Home. It is an awesome little pub with camping in the back. The stars were incredible at night and the moon was full.

The Festival itself took place in the village hall, because the ground was still too soft for the outdoor stage. About 20 bands played in all and i saw about 18 of them. Every band I saw was exceptional.

White noise sound - spacey drones from Wales

Je Suis Animal - Reminded me of all the things I like about Lush and Bjork only with cooler songs.

Mark Gardiner - formerly of Ride playing solo

The Early Years - space kraut-ROCK

Will Caruthers - formerly of Spacemen 3. Creepy dark acoustic set.

Kontakte - Drum samples, Bass, and two Jazzmasters creating walls of noise.

Mainline - Lots of Guitars, cool harmonies, from Dublin.

Sunsplit / Asteroid 4 - interchangable members. 2 bands in one. rockin' psychedelia.

We played on Sunday. It was a good show. Made some new friends and fans. The crowds over there are very open, and respectful. They come in and sit down and listen. What a concept.

too many cool moments to mention. The people in the UK were very open and friendly. We can't wait to get back over there.

Thanks for reading
