Composure label owner and guiding spirit Paul Davies has over the past few months been hard at work not only developing Composure but also working on more of his own material, remixing and compiling DJ sets for a variety of labels and Radio Stations. You can check out his current top 10 from Resident Advisor. RA is in our opinion simply the coolest place for Dance music on the web and is packed full of news and gorgeous imagary. If you need to know whats happening, RA will keep you in the loop.

We have also now launched our new label residency on the revamped Pure.FM  running for 2 hours on the first Sunday of every month.

Expect 2 hours of sublime electronic music with a guest each month. Our first installment included an awesome 1 hour set from Paul Davies and then a deep and moody exclusive Composure Label Sampler. You can listen and download both sets on Soundcloud.

Corrugated Tunnel/Edwin James currently has a featured artist chart on dance music's favorite web store Beatport. You can check it out here. The great news is that not only has he recently undertaken a remix for Shane Robinson but he's also charting Turn from Shane's recent Composure release the One Night EP! More news on the remix pack for the One Night EP to follow over the coming weeks. We are expecting to pull the whole package together by the end of October and look at a release before the end of 2009 (infact the new schedule and label sampler are shaping up nicely). Needless to say the Corrugated Tunnel mix is a fairly stunning remake!

Shane himself is working on a number remixes for Composure at the moment, first up we have his rather epic remakes of Paul Kierans Distorted Reason/Fader EP. Trust me these are immense! Also in the works is a new EP from Carl Jurgens that Shane has lent a hand to. Again its an awesome EP and followers on Soundcloud have already been treated to this albeit in an exclusive DJ set teaser way.

Our 59th release comes courtesy of Glen McArdle another new producer who is currently based in Holland. This 2 track release is special for many reasons but mainly because it is actually some of the first material this artist has ever written and produced. Upon listening to this deep and dreamy melodic 2 track EP you probably would not think it due to its accomplished sound. Naturally Composure was interested for all of the above reasons and again we have found a talent that can grow from within the scene. Currently working on a new studio set up Glen is writing new material and honing his skills for future productions.

Born in the Netherlands in the year 1980 from a Scottish mother and Dutch father. Glen first became acquainted with mixing and dance music around springtime 2008 by using the Traktor software platform. Like many new artists his first setup was and still is a digital one. Upon mixing, and soon after, producing his own work, a whole other dimension of respect and appreciation came alive for the music he was in love with. In Glens own words

I have always enjoyed a wide variety of electronic music and still do. As long as the sounds move me. I like it when there is a underlining story to the music. Most of the time there is a story unfolding or scene playing in my head as I am listening to a track or working on one. But its still all very early days for me and I have yet much to learn and develop. I love to work with music I find it exciting and exhilarating. There is nothing like a good track that evokes a true emotion whether it be happy or sad. Through every step of the way I try to consolidate into an inspiring vision: to go beyond the rules and think beyond the norm..to think....outside the box.

The "One Night EP" is a collection of thoughtful, well produced big room Progressive and Tech-House tunes. Both "One Night" and "Turn" are slow building, subtle monster tunes that lend a mild production nod in the direction of both Eric Prydz and Deadmau5. "Who Thought You" throws together a twisted vocal, pulsing electro-synth runs and a tasty programmed break that rides the crest of the most creative wave in 2009. The Café Mambo Ibiza 2009 compilation celebrates 15 years of this Ibizan institution that has played host to the worlds finest Dj’s and Pete Tongs Radio 1 Essential Selection show broadcasts from this venue occasionally in the summer period. Jose Padilla is widely recognised as the Café Del Mar’s resident DJ in the 80's and 90’s and in turn for helping raise the profile of leftfield/ambient music. Jose also kick started the Café Del Mar CD compilations (which in turn spawned a hugely popular new genre). Jose Padilla can be seen discussing his career and this new compilation in the following video by Defected:

The album itself is indeed a refreshing collection of tunes that only a DJ such as Jose Padilla could discover. The lounge/chill/ambient scene has become massively popular and a commercial lifestyle choice in itself over the past decade, Jose Padilla uses this platform wisely and delivers a timeless compilation that captures the essence of Mambo and provides the soundtrack for sunsets across the globe for many years to come.
