It will be regularly updated with pictures, new songs, videos (SSTV coming very soon), tour blogs (Obese Block Party Tour is only a few sleeps away) and all sorts of cool shit. Make sure you check it out as often as humanly possible.

Scrackin' Myspace.

2007 is a couple days away from coming to a close, so I thought it was high time that the good folks at Spit Syndicate hit you with an update and let you know what's poppin with us. I'll try and be quick and keep this from turning into an essay.

Despite our constant promises that our debut LP "Towards the Light" would be released in 2007, it hasn't been. Many apologies for fucking around with anyone that may have been waiting for the album to drop - hopefully though, the finished product will be worth the wait. I can now let you know that the album will be released through Obese Records, around May 2008. We were in talks with a few different labels but decided that Obese would be the best place for us to put out our music; the big homie Pegz reached out to us and we're extremely happy to be rolling with Obese.

While the album didn't drop as planned, 2007 has been a monster year for us; we've done some great shows and have had a blast. Just want to give a massive thank you to everyone that has shown us love this year, especially to all the friends, fans and fam that have been coming out to our shows. You all know who you are, and you should also know that we appreciate the love more than anything.

I also wanted to give a plug to our homies Horrorshow - they're very close friends of ours and are Sydney hiphop's best kept secret. They have an album called "The Grey Space" which will be released in some capacity next year, and it's incredible. If you get the chance, click on their link in our top friends. While they're our boys, this plug comes without any bias at all - check em out if you can.

Stay tuned for "Towards the Light" in 2008. Much love to you all.

SS.

Dear MySpace,

As our debut album nears completion (I swear son!) and things are starting to fall in place, we're looking to develop a Spit Syndicate Street Team – a group of dedicated, passionate Spit Syndicate/Aussie Hip-Hop fans and supporters across Australia who want to help us spread our music and message (message? wankers.), in return for a number of exclusive giveaways and opportunities.  Being part of the Spit Syndicate Street Team means that you help promote Spit Syndicate in a number of ways, for example:

                - Decorating your neighbourhood/school/etc with various Spit Syndicate posters and stickers (which we will mail to you).
                - Handing out fliers in your local area for Spit Syndicate shows and releases.
                - Requesting (repeatedly, hopefully) Spit Syndicate music and videos on both local and national radio stations and video channels.
                - Decking out your MySpace/Facebook with Spit Syndicate music/pics/videos.

There are others, but that is the general gist. It involves a little bit of effort on your part, although it's nothing too exhausting, to help us spread our music as widely as possible. In return for their efforts, Spit Syndicate Street Team members will receive a whole heap of free and exclusive music, merchandise and opportunities – that are only available for the street team. A number of examples are:

                - Signed CD and Poster giveaways.
                - Access to Exclusive music long before the general public hears them.
                - Free Spit Syndicate merchandise (t-shirts, hoodies, hats, etc)
                - Free entry to Spit Syndicate shows in your city.

Again, there are stacks of other opportunities and giveaways for Street Team members – this is only the tip of the iceberg.

Basically, this is a call out to anyone out there that considers themselves a dedicated Spit Syndicate/Australian Hip-Hop/Music fan. It's an opportunity to connect with Spit Syndicate on a level that others can't. We're at the very beginning of pushing our music and definitely have a long way to go, and becoming part of the Spit Syndicate Street Team is a dope opportunity to become involved from the very beginning.

Your help would be very much appreciated, and it will most definitely not go unrewarded.

If any of this interests you, or you have any questions or anything like that, please send an email to spitsyndicatestreetteam@hotmail.com . If you would like to become part of the Spit Syndicate Street Team, please send an email with your full name, your city/town and a little rundown on why you'd like to be a member of the Spit Syndicate Street Team.

In other news, we've posted a new track of ours, taken off the Ground Up Mixtape - "Throw Some Deez" done in true Ashfield style. You already know. We recently appeared on MTV's "The Lair" - footage is in the process of being uploaded; stay tuned for that shit. We recently went down to Melbourne for a show and to hear how some of our songs are sounding - we had a ball, Melbourne is one of the illest cities I've ever been too. Big shout outs to everyone that looked after us down there: Steve Duck (roll it, son), Flago, M-Phazes, Jase, Illy (check him out, he BEEN doing his thing and is on some shit), Justice & Kaos (sickcunts) and all the rest.

We've also been nominated for the Unsigned Artist Award at the Urban Music Awards, which is decided by a closed industry vote. That goes down on August 14th.

These blogs somehow turn into fucking essays everytime I go to write one.

Until next time, stay bossy. Towards the Light coming soon.
