Adventures Galore!

The prerequisite clouds and trees, I sample a piece of octopus (yeccch), terrorizing the streets of lovely PDX, broken tuners, missing guitar straps, a few the coolest girls ever (and one cool fella), a little bit o' rock and roll excess, and that charming dork who makes that sad music and these stupid videos.

A new Demo Reel is up for everyone to sample a few of the working roughs from my upcoming album, SONGS TO PASS THE QUIET HOURS.  Listen to it in the player at my Profile!

These songs are unmixed, missing components, and aren't all final takes.  Thus far the only musician to join Rob (engineer, co-producer) and I in the studio has been my friend Rich Sherwood, on kit drums.  I really wanted to cover ALL duties, but I decided not to play live kit drums this time around (still doing the drum programming and loops, though).  I've basically been off the kit for the past two years and nobody needs to listen to that sloppy mess!  On the same token, neither of us care to spend days stitching together Franken-drums in ProTools, so... there ya go.

Songs featured here are "These Things Happen", "In The Clear", and "Any Moment Now".

(Yes, I like songs with three words in the title.)
:)

Austin singer-songwriter Ray Prim and violinst/vocalist April Stephens will be flying out this week to join me in the studio for a track called "Straight To Hell".  I'm excited about that.  Ray used to pull my awkward teenage self on stage to sing when I was still daydreaming of doing what I'm doing now, so it's a nice full circle to have him sing on my second full-length album.   We'll be playing a show together this SATURDAY AUG 8th @ GENGHIS COHEN.  Ray @ 9:30.  Me @ 10:15.  All ages are welcome and cover is $7.  Get on my Mailing List for a $2 discount!  And be there!

Thanks for listening!  More soon!
