While this isn't to make a huge deal out of something that really isn't, its probably fair to assume that most people reading this might care in some small or large way...
We've decided that following our last scheduled show on September 8th in Pittsburgh, we're going to be taking a break indefinitely. In addition to everything hectic and otherwise draining happening in our lives, Andy is planning on taking classes in the fall in addition to working full-time, which is going to give him little time to continue playing music on a regular basis. Rather than continue on with some hope of finding someone else who will fit with us on both a musical and personal level, we have decided that TSLL should stop if it isn't going to be the three of us.
It feels sort of silly to use the word 'hiatus' or to even announce this, as it seems like it should be reserved for bands on big labels and/or whose continued possibility of existing ensures continued record sales. It doesn't necessarily mean that we won't play any more shows down the road, or even possibly write some more music together, but for the time being we probably won't be doing so.
So we'd like to thank everyone who has contributed in any way to what the sea, like lead is/was - everyone who had kind words to say, who helped us with our brief tours or asked us to play shows, the bands we've played with, the friends we've made and the friends who have always been there for us... But most especially anyone who has just been patient and listened. There are so many people making music right now, so many bands touring and putting out records... so that you heard us despite that infinite cacophany of voices means more than fragile words can express.
As Jo and I plan to continue playing together, we will be sure to get the word out when something new comes about. I don't doubt we'll continue to make music that we love, and hopefully you can once again be a part of it.
Thank you again and much love Jeremy & tsll

We have a handful of shows coming up in the next month, so watch out! June 20th we are playing at Garfield Artworks with our friends Kalon, and from Boston Amoroso and Exultation of Larks. June 24th we are playing at Modernformations for their 5th year anniversary/birthday with Vale & Year, Benchwarmer and Ludus Lovestyle reunion! At the beginning of July we will be playing two shows at Roboto, on July 3rd with Brain Handle, Conversions (boston, chris strunk's new band!) and Capsule (from florida!), and July 6 with Montreal's Black Ships, Arcadius from NJ, and Fuckedupmess!!! So lots of excitement, please come say hello!
We are also happy to announce that at some undetermined point next spring, we will be sharing a split 12" with our friends Crusades from Florida! You can check them out at www.myspace.com/wearecrusades. The record will be on Makeshift Origami (www.makeshiftorigami.com)!
In the meantime, we are writing new material and hope to have a full-length record recorded this fall in time for a Winter release.

Secondly, we are embarking on a brief 9 day excursion to the northeastern seaboard where we will, in fact, spend a good deal of our time thinking and/or staring at the ocean. In between those contemplative moments and driving on winding New England roads, we will (hopefully) be playing some music as well! The dates are below. We still need some help in a few places, so please send us a message if you can help in any way!!!

"Belegost/The Sea, Like Lead split 12" EP (Hardtravelin'/The Electric Human Project)
Western and Eastern Pennsylvania bands lock horns in the epic instrumental rock battle on this split album. Longer in form than you've heard in a while … both sides exceed 20 minutes, and take their time in spilling the guts. Philly's Belegost are a three-guitar, six-headed instrumental army of beards and peace, working away from the field recording samples and endless builds of their contemporaries by a bit less than they should, but still coming through with an engaging and heartfelt grand scheme. Their contribution here, "Nightwalker/Deergod", is made up of parts you'll recognize and hopefully will enjoy in execution; references include Slint, Still Life, Tarentel, Godspeed, etc., but with a sense of direction other than up and back down. Maybe some blues influence too, which steers the track away from obvious references. Ex-Virginia Black Lung and Io, so expect the chaos; just not all at once. Pittsburgh's The Sea, Like Lead hedges the formation by half, removes the bass entirely, and rages almost twice as hard. Their two selections easily fill up the side with a more triumphant, less orchestrated sound. These guys take cues from similar yet distinct sources (Bitch Magnet, Hum, American shoegaze and Swervedriver) and provide a very satisfying flip on post-rock grandeur; "Anticline/Syncline's" guitarring fully recognizes the scope of its power and basks proudly in its heat, while "Twilight of the Gods" builds to its absolute breaking point and caves in under double-bass destruction and digital delay. 24 inches of whoopass in a 12" record. Edition of 500; CD version also available for wimps."

We had a fantastic time at the show last night in Carlisle PA! Despite the weather being downright glacial, we made it both there to and back from one of the best shows we've been a part of! Thank you to Marshall for putting everything together, the Art Haus for hosting and providing such incredible hospitality, the other bands for playing amazing music, and everyone who came for making it such a wonderful experience! We hope to come back again sometime soon!
