FROM THE DEPTHS (nc)
CORRUPT GOVERNMENT
GAY CAMP

'Dirge' shirt design should be available. 'Marathon' design coming soon. Other fucking junk in the works, as well.

this just in from xmitchx:
"Hey all, Me & some friends have been building a house for the last two years & on Thanksgiving we're going to have a party in it. It's not done yet but it'll be good for a punk show before all the interior walls get put up. Come early & have NO THANKS with us, a vegan potluck in celebration of not giving thanks to forefathers, who were a bunch of fuckers. Here's the info:

VEGAN POTLUCK at 5pm. Bring foods &/or desserts. Hang out with us. Sit by our wood stove.

PUNK SHOW at 6pm or so. FROM THE DEPTHS will be coming from North Carolina. They have members from CATHARSIS, REQUIEM, AURYN, etc. They will be touring with a bunch of anarcho literature & other awesome stuff. There will be two more bands from around here. GAY CAMP from portland  & CORRUPT GOVERNMENT from saco. Matt is living in Pittsburgh & he's trying to organize this from there which makes it tricky. He'll be back for this, though, & it will be awesome.

Everyone is welcome & invited. This is more of a show, but it'd be awesome to hang out with folks before hand & create some stronger bonds amongst our brethren punks. Please come & invite whomever you'd like!!!! Spread the word!! There probably will be some drinking but any drunkenness will be really annoying. So keep it to a minimum.

Okay. Call us at 2072394858 or e-mail me if ya got questions. xrywinx@riseup.net . you can sleep on our floor if you need a place to sleep."

...
We came
To bury
Our faith
Our precious pasts
Our tattered flags
The humbling
Hobbling
Torturous
Burden of
Dreams
Put them in the ground
Shoveled in the earth
No words
No sound
Just the leaves
On the wind
Trembling
And the hurt
From that seed
A mighty root
And it grew

'DIRGE' illustration, included in FROM THE DEPTHS -GERMINATE album.  It's available here and here, on CD and as download.  Members of CATHARSIS, REQUIEM & AURYN ...fuck

....
the heavens will fall and stars rain down
on the backs of the broken
upon those whose beauty is spit upon
whose desire you shit upon
if this is what your life will take from me
if this is what your world will make of me

if this is what the world has made of me
then let it live with the consequences
November 1, 2008 - Saturday

new shirt design for killer ....indiana.... doom gods, THE GATES OF SLUMBER available through RELAPSE. this one didn't take me nearly as long to push out as the trap them design, but it sure turned out a lot nicer looking on the actual shirts. these hoosier warriors are hittin the road soon, so see em live where you can. their new full length, 'conqueror,' is one of my favorite albums of the year… pure conan crushing doom metal!

....

....

also… the new issue of LUNCHMEAT is ready for you to sink your corpse-flavored cassette craving teeth into. it's got another comic drawn under my inky tentacles (you can spot a sample in my pics section) and can pick up a copy for $5 directly through those ghouls josh & ted at: 710 glendalough rd. erdenheim, pa 19038 or (soon) through the RELAPSE MAILORDER.

....

....

finally… the artwork for the PINKO AND THE ACTION BOYS lp is coming along, slowly but surely. that's the current priority, but other treats are on their way, too!

happy halloween!

September 9, 2008 - Tuesday

TRAP THEM is such a viciously good band. This winter, a lot my free time went towards designing their 'Obstruction' shirt, available now from RELAPSE.

THE SHAKE 'EM UPS, some friends from Austin Texas, are also playing some killer music... they released their first cd just a couple months back and it's fun as hell. Somehow, something I drew ended up on the cover. I don't know how that happened, as I sure took a loooong time in getting it to em, but it looks kinda fancy and these guys make me super proud. I think you can buy a copy of that cd HERE or straight from them while on tour, which would be a fine time to meet these dazzling souls, as I bet they'll be headin to a dancefloor near you sooner than later. They made some shirts with the cover art on em, too, and I bet they'd like to trade you one for a little help with gas. HERE is a link to a ridiculously close-up view of said scribbles.

I work with these two movie nuts, Josh & Ted and they just recently started publishing a VHS/horror magazine of sorts called LUNCHMEAT. Their first issue is available HERE and the second should be kickin around doorsteps by Halloween. There are a couple of corny comicstrips I was able to draw up for 1, honorably included towards the omni-risque back pages. Expect another contribution for this next issue and if nothing else, pick up issue 1 just to dig the review of OCTAMAN! Absolutely essential viewing begats absolutely essential reading. Holy shit!

PINKO AND THE ACTION BOYS have pressed an LP! Yeah, -these assholes decided at some point to not break-up and then they wrote some more songs (ones you maine fuckers don't know by heart yet), recorded these songs and spent money on pressing all this fiasco onto twelve-inch vinyl discs. These particular circular items may find a home in your record collection as soon as THIS YEAR, if I can fully acknowledge that the time is NOW to understand that:
1.) I am no longer bed-ridden and horribly sick as shit (art=excruciating) as the last few weeks knew me to be &...
2.) I have new 005 micron pens to unleash upon an agonizingly giant canvas of drawing paper, hosting incomplete gatefold-LP sleeve art, waiting for me back in my south philly bedroom, not yet carried off by cockroaches and water-dwelling bugs.
3.) Carcass plays an hour from here tomorrow. You might be able to understand how that's somewhat important.

...more crud in the works.

and to reiterate...

Xdynamics of communicationX

this is a challenge set for myself, -to live up to every bit of the pseudo-sensational image i may inadvertently present in association with myself through the medium at hand, and not to allow it to define my character, nor the root cause of my actions. i recognize the inherent element of standardization at play within this method, employed now to function as an experiment in socialization. with the mere exploration of these grounds, what other unseen and perhaps subconscious methods serving more direct, more humanly autonomous connections are we conditioning ourselves away from?

i'm skeptical that the bonds of hope, nurtured in the olde ways which we sever from within us, are worthy sacrifices upon the welcoming crevices of an altar baring a rotten foundation. are the intricate designs we carve into the oppressor's throne, in image of our own unsung greatnesses, serving more so only to keep our knees bent and heads bowed towards the grinding heel of our collectively fabricated royal culture of death? or is there still hope that the blood of hearts and the guts we spill shall corrode into the holy framework, sanctioning it a tomb? but, in fact, this is whatever we make of it.

captivated by the narcissistic order of this digital entity, i still intuitivly know better than to invest much energy, polishing the fancy chains for which we submit our outstretched arms. the impact of a spell cast for &/or against us... the electronic sigil of reconnection and collaboration... my hope to see friends new and old gather with fire in our hearts and song to share with more reason than to marry or bury each other. there is more here... the absence we foster (for we are all such lonely fuckers) parallels a new dawn of joyous discovery. the visions we lend to this contaminated canvas must transcend the digital plain. our world is nothing without the dreams we share.

in short, i value hand-written letters, mixtapes, warm hugs, bicycle adventures & home-cooked meals so much more than these words could ever let on, filtered through this medium of contact. all of this with your involvement... it means the world to me. please be in touch! (for real:)
