Out of context I see why this may seem wierd. You'd have to hear the song.

"food coloring" by David Harrod Jr.

here's a piece of me

On a plate for you.

With no garnish

What are you to do?

Will you swallow me?

Or will you pick at me with tools

Maybe you're not hungry

You don't feel so good

You're sad

And I'm on a plate again

And I'm bubbling

Time's making me cool off

And I'm losing friends

Everyone's swallowed but me

And I'm headed for garbage disposal

You look down on me

You do

I'm sure the meat is great

And your ticket away

From the table

Listen your mama

Eat your vegetables

And I'm on a plate again

And I'm sizzling

Time's making me cool off

And I'm losing friends

Everyone's in you but me

And I'm headed for garbage disposal

Or a place you'll prolly forget me

The mold will soon cover me

From the cellophane I'll suffocate

Till the moment you'll throw me away

So listen to your mama

It was an amber in the dark

I knew it from the start

From the very first moment

I felt it in my heart

A tiny burning flame

that burns my house down

and now I'm burning

nothing can put me out

Current mood:  pirate

I had a dream last night. I was in the city on a tall hill, and tornadoes were in the distance. I saw them blowing down high rise buildings, and I had plenty of time to take cover. I spent that time looking for a safe place to hide, but in the end I had to resort to digging my hands into the grass. Laying flat on my stomach the tornado slowly passing over me.  I was praying for everyone I could think of.  Oh, and including me/ Anyways, I wrote this about it,

"Montessori" by David Harrod Jr.

How did you hold on?

In the storm

I was laying face on the ground

Barely surviving

And when I knew it was too late

I choked up started praying

I bunkered down and accepted my fate

And I was blown away

I guess it helps to have your wings

When it's time for flying

When it's over you can park on a tree

And find your way back home

Hey you, want you look at me

Finally I'm flying

And finally I'm free

From the chains of the world

Spinning on a super cycle

Life's tornado raffle

I think I heard them call my ticket

I'm hanging from a tree again

Eye to eye to butterfly

That makes me feel like a human

And I am

And you do

Look at you

How did you hold on?

In the storm

You always seem to use your head

Everything you were given

And I'm only capable of walk

Walking in circles

And you have the open sky

And the option to fly

Spinning on a super cycle

Life's tornado raffle

I think I heard them call my ticket

I'm hanging from a tree again

Eye to eye to butterfly

That makes me feel like a human

And I am

And it hurts, when I fall
