To make a marriage work it starts early. When a man takes those vowels to love and to cherish her until death do they part..... it means serious business! To many times after a commitment is made or shall we say the man wins the woman's heart .....everything stops. That's what makes many couples unhappy. The male isn't meeting the female's emotional needs. Therefore more than likely she will not meet his sexual needs. To truly make a marriage work a man must do his best to try and win his wife's heart everyday. If she feels appreciated and loved....the man becomes her hero. This will make her want to be close to her husband more often.

It is important to make her feel like she is beautiful. Let her know by telling her she is beautiful. However actions speak louder than words.... so it is wise to show her how beautiful she is. Do things for her such as never stop opening doors. She is your wife make her feel like a princess! If she is a woman that appreciates words leave her notes in places that tell her how much she is appreciated and loved. If she likes flowers send her flower's.... for no reason sometimes. Do random things for her. Make it a surprise! It doesn't have to be a weekly thing. Some things can get expensive. However the little inexpensive things she will appreciate.

There is nothing that will make her day more than sacrifice. Lets say there is a golf/softball tournament a few weeks away. First of all the husband should ask his wife if its ok for him to play in the tournament. Not that she is the boss, but simply out of respect for her. Maybe she has plans for that weekend for the family. Maybe she planned to do something with her friends before this came up. Communicate! If she has something else planned .....simply tell her, "that's ok we will do what you have planned." There will be other golf /softball tournaments. If this is done she will more likely say go ahead and play the next time it comes up. She will recognize the sacrifice and what is most important to her husband. His family and his wife!

Whatever her goals are in life share those goals. Help her meet every goal she has. Don't crush her dreams. Support her dreams, make them your dreams. Whatever her gifts or talents are don't make fun of them. Allow her to express her talents and use them. For example maybe she loves to have company over and be a hostess. When this time comes pitch in around the house..... do things the way she likes it done. Do this because you love her. Women are particular about certain things. Do the best that can be done to please her. A good wife will recognize this.

If she is running late from work or you beat her home. Surprise her by picking up the house, help her with the kids, make dinner for her, or even make her a hot bubble bath. That way when she walks in.....have her go straight to the bathroom. Tell her to relax and that everything is taken care of tonight. She will appreciate that. There will be mistakes made. Every marriage takes hard work. However if these instructions are followed this marriage will be blessed!

Last but not least understand that submission works both ways. To many times men listen to these ministers who tell them that a wife is to be submissive! This automatically goes to the mans head. He gets this slave mentality. Wait on me. Do this for me. This has been taken way out of context. The greatest book ever written does tell the wife to be submissive to her husband. But the husband she is being submissive to...... is being submissive in return. This book, the Bible, makes it very clear. "Husband love your wife like Christ loved the church." There is no greater act of submission! Christ died and gave his life to the church! A husband should die to his wife, and give his life to her!
