...to collaborate with...
Got it in my head to do an album, which has given me the impetus to do some more vocal work... Artistically the most important thing for me is that you get the vibe of this type of music (use Sum of Us and Past Perfect from my player as reference points), that you can sound melancholy, delicate, edgy, off kilter...schtuff like that...so if you're keen to chat further email me at hello@simonflower.co.nz...merci...

Hey I got back to the old 1's and 2's (or should I say 1's and 0's?) to do a DJ mix in December for the top peeps at Little White Earbuds.
Fun to put together a DJ mix after playing live sets for the last few years... Here be the link for the download...

In a rare spot of wank, I'm actually super chuffed to have 'Send in the Clowns' getting no. 3 in Groove magazine's top 50 charts (Sept issue). Especially cool as this mag this a publication which has my full-most respect, and has a special place in my memories. Back in the day when an issue would occasionally come through with a record order, us NZ boys starved for decent info on the music we were into, would all pour over the mag, every article/interview looking like a gem, desperately wishing we could speak German:) And top stuff to Sven Tasnadi for getting 5! Nooiiiice one mate.

Much much many much thanks to Dan Morgan and Jodie (and clan!) for getting me down to Napier... I had an absolute blast, easily one of the most fun times I've ever had playing live - was great to get such a good reception. Thanks to everyone who came along (and everyone I chatted shit to), who made it such a cool night...

This was recorded during a live set I did in April at a monthly minimal techno night called 'Minim' here in Auckland, NZ. Minim isn't really a dance gig, so it fits nicely into my 'slow club' routine:)
Anyhoo, its hosted by a couple of good people...
check out the link at http://psurkit.net/2006/05/27/simon-flower-live-at-minim/
and its kiwi stalwart parent site www.obscure.co.nz
Its also hosted by Lowerdepths...check out their other mixes too.

I've really been buzzing on the wealth of good music and musicians on myspace, the majority being unsigned. From now on I'm just going to keep musicians in my 'top friends' list - I'll rotate them over time. If you're interested go check them out, and if you like something go and tell them!

I went to see H.D.U, a band from Dunedin in New Zealand, perform in Auckland last Saturday and they were bloody amazing. Everyone should try and see them live at least once... www.hdu.co.nz
