What’s KK Ryder been up to in 2009? SINGING/WRITING/ACTING and Birthday Party at COZY’S....

Wow, Happy Birthday to me tomorrow! Holy Crap-olah not another one! Becoming one year older makes you kinda kick back and think of the year and how it’s gone for you…so please allow me to reflect a bit, I miss my immediate family in Wa. State very much but we text, Skype and call all the time! ....I miss my Wa. and Nashv buddies too!

   Please allow me a moment of silence for the friends and family that have passed on this year, they will forever be remembered and loved in my heart……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………. 

As many of you already know, I made a major move to Southern California where I continue my duties as a Co-Coordinator for NSAI… and the move really has been a fantastic plan of attack not only for my singing/songwriting happy ass but most definitely for my career as an actress! 

   I started out the year hanging my hat in Nashville and wrote a few songs with my NSAI peeps of all levels, I found my self at a Major Publishing House co-writing with an exceptional writer who’s songs I was hearing on the radio even during my drive to meet him for our collaborations! I also found myself in the living room of a very sweet powerhouse songwriting team who’s songs have been recorded by some major talent as well, but the boom boom’s (lightning storms, thunder and the whirl of tornado’s) and the thought of maybe a cow might fly past at any second in the stormy sky, were way too much for me to handle- I was making and still am, great strides in Nashville but I grew up in the midwest and being that close to tornado alley again was just stressing me out, yes yes I do know I now live in the “shaky state” but I am growing in song-spirit and acting and ripening like a big ol sweet ripe orange that could be plucked from a back yard tree in Pomona!

   I started off the year on a great note, I acted in a KILLERWOLF film (see my top friends!) which is in Post production called WENDIGO BOUND BY BLOOD and I have either co-stared, played a character role or was featured in 5 movies since the beginning of 2009 they are as follows-- WENDIGO BOUND BY BLOOD (post production) filmed in NY and PENN, 10 COUNT filmed in Nashville- I’ve already got the DVD to be used on my acting reel! A BURNING TALE OF DESIRE filmed in Chicago- in my home state, that’s in post production as well, then moving to So Cal I picked up two more films OH GOODNESS (post) and today I am playing a homeless woman character role for another film. 

   When I first arrived in LA the first thing I did was to get myself established with an agency and you can also see me from time to time in the background on a few TV shows and movies…so far I’ve been on the sets of GRAY’S ANATOMY – PRIVATE PRACTICE – MEDIUM…kewl huh, but as an actress I am always stretching and have been building my IMDB credits and getting my reel together and so now I am getting my headshot together and next year I have a set goal (one of em anyway), to become a member of both SAG and AFTRA in the year 2010, I also would love to pick up on an equity play as well, so as you see my Ryder Rockin’ Peeps, the world in the land of the palm trees is where my oyster is creating it’s pearl! I have had some fantastic training grounds living in both Seattle and Nashville and coming from the flat lands of Illinois and being raised as a Midwestern farmers daughter let’s just see how this now “California Girl” is going to blossom! Oh yeah a few more things before I go- check on my top friends and hit COMIC BOOK DIVAS I’m staring in a get this…Comic Book!!! How kewl is that? I am going to be the head vampire hunter! Also watch for an interview in OBSCUREHORROR DOT COM (top friends too) at the beginning of the year that I am featured in (Rob Zombie has also been featured in this magazine!) anyway... I not only yack to Rich about being in my first full length horror flick where I got to have some kick ass martial arts fun but also we touch on some other great subjects that have helped shape me and made me who I am today both as an artist-songwriter as well as an actress… also my band was entered into AMERICA’S GOT TALENT!  let’s see if we can try to get Sensei Sky Benson to kick some serious ass in some martial arts movies next year too! Now that…would be awesome! Hmmm anything more??? Nope that’s pretty much my little meager existence blipping along on the big blue marble, wish us luck!
