A while ago, I don't know if you remember, I posted a blog asking people to help spread the word on The Gene Generation. Those of you who have responded, I have put your names up in the 'Special Thanks' section. It's a big list, but you'll find your names in there. I paid extra attention not to miss anybody out. 'Rise' by Encephalon is playing on the background. Heh heh. I think it's perfect really.

I hope that each of you continues to help out The Gene Generation. I guess many people have wrote to me with very mixed reviews. It's funny but I can actually categorize people (OMG.. I AM JUDGING YOU NOW.. MUAHAHA) about their feelings on The Gene Generation

Commercial: The people who think The Gene Generation is like a Star Trek Commercial movie and expect it to be lots of slam, bam, thank you ma'am action. Sadly, I would have let you down there. I never intended this to be a commercial film.

Film: The people who see that The Gene Generation (Thank you Chris, Aspectphoo, Batgurl, and many others) is a love story about a brother and sister trying to find their place in a dystopian future.

The pacing on The Gene Generation definitely lends itself more to atmosphere and a love story. I guess that's what is important for me. LOVE. I think over the years I've gotten to know people in the sub-cultures. That no matter what front they put up, no matter what crazy stuff they are involved in, the one thing we all agree on is that love is the greatest thing in the world. Whether it is through animals, siblings or spouses. It's funny but I think that's what The Gene Generation has become. A lot of people see it and expect something but turns out that it is (in it's core) a love story. Sorry to disappoint all the jocks out there :( I don't have the required dose of testosterone before you Monday Night Football game).

I hope that whoever can afford it, to please purchase a copy of The Gene Generation. It would really help me out. You can get it from Amazon.com or pretty much any major retailer.

Oh, and do listen to the commentaries. I think you'll really get an idea of the different personalities of the people involved in the making of The Gene Generation.

We're hoping that The Gene Generation picks off. As many of you know, 45 mins was cut out from the original cut and I hope to be able to release my director's cut (if the sales are popular) and put in about an hour's worth more of Special Features. We've had so many that we couldn't fit it on the first DVD. This includes stuff from Combichrist and VNV Nation too that distributors felt may be too niched.

Anyway, here is the link to get The Gene Generation. Thank you all guys. Please add me to your personal myspace page. I'd love to hear from all of you!

I heard rumors from our distribution side that germany is in talks of being the first coming out with Gene Generation on Blu-ray. What the fuck! Now I want a copy of it! How come the US doesn't have it... WAHHHHHH!!!!!

Anybody in germany? I'm going to have to bribe them to send me a copy of it! I can't ask Ronan from VNV to send me a copy, it should be the other way around! Life... it can be unfair... HAHAHAHA. Who am I kidding. I love germans, half of my music is german sync-pop... and ok, norwegian too, if you count Combichrist as norwegian... hahahah

*edit* Germany release date is Feb 27th as heard from Darth Revis!

So yeah, I've been out of the loop with society again as I was shooting my second feature. I got word that the Gene DVDs have been sent out in the US for printing already while most states are still manufacturing the DVDs and deciding which special features to put on. Yeah, we have tons of Special Features so I guess each country will have their own stuff in it. I know UK and Germany are about ready to go so hang in there. But if you can't wait, head over to Amazon.com and you can pre-order your copies over there.

As you know, my second feature is a horror film. So I'll throw some teasers up there for you guys to take a look at. We JUST got into post and trust me, without VFX, this one should be out by May 2009.

It's called Necromentia. Click on the thumbnails for a bigger view

Got my website finished! www.pearryteo.com It also includes some deleted scenes from the director's cut of Gene Generation. Firefox has been funky on the browser in that it won't quick load the movie and would have to download it all to play. Oh well.

Anyway, PLEASE leave a message on my guestbook for me. And if you have Livejournal, gimme your username so I can add you as a friend. My LJ username is arkgoth

Ok guys, as you may have known... Comicon is just round the corner. This means two things.

1. It's my b'day weekend, so time to get TOASTED. Technically, my b'day is tomorrow but with comicon preparation and all, there's no time to enjoy it.

2. I'll be at comicon signing for DNA Hacker Chronicles, including the release of issue 2. You can buy issue 2 at our store right now, www.bloodfire.com/products. If you are going to purchase 2, and you want me to sign it, please make sure you inform Bloodfire about it and I'll sign it at Comicon and get it shipped out for you next week.

Bloodfire and me will be Comicon at booth 1623. Come up, say hi and hang out with me and chad later on for some drinks...muahahahaha. To those out there, if you can buy issue 2, it would be much appreciated for that support. Hell, if there was a b'day present I want, it would be for you guys to purchase issues of DNA Hacker Chronicles, what better present to get me than to show your support :) all for just $2.99. HAAHHAHA

Anyways, here are some pages from it :) Hope to see you guys this weekend

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SAN DIEGO, CA, July 21, 2008:

Acclaimed independent publisher BloodFire Studios (BFS) has named comic book legend Len Wein to be their new Editor-in-Chief, it was announced today by Dennis Greenhill, BFS's current E-i-C. Wein will be an integral part of BloodFire Studios' 2009 expansion of its comics line, as well as leading the new Advisory Board to help push the creative edge of the company's new projects and existing titles.

In announcing his new position, Wein said, "I have had a lifelong love affair with the comics medium, and been fortunate enough to be able to turn many of my dreams into reality. The amazing creative crew at BloodFire Studios shares my enthusiasm and my passion for the artform and I look forward to helping them to create newer and even more extraordinary dreams and bring them to a contemporary audience. Hang on tight, people. This is going to be one heck of a ride."

Greenhill, who will be taking up a new executive position within the company after 10 years as Editor-in-Chief of BloodFire Studios, had this to say, "This is a wonderful opportunity for everyone to learn from a legend. BloodFire Studios has always been on the cutting edge of the industry, but there are certain limitations that are difficult for small companies to overcome. Len has an insight and experience that will take BloodFire Studios to the next level."

Lee Kohse, BFS's Creative Director and acting CEO said: "BFS has always been very progressive and our expansion allowed us to bring in an Editor-in-Chief who is just as unorthodox as the rest of us. For ten years, we have made comics for the love of comics. Len's singular approach to storytelling, enduring optimism, and enthusiasm for the comic art form are right at home here."

Len Wein is one of those rare people who truly embodies the word legend. Not only has he previously served as Editor-in-Chief of Marvel Comics, Top Cow Comics, Disney Comics and been a senior editor at DC Comics, Wein has also created some of the industry's most iconic characters, including Nightcrawler, Storm, Colossus, Thunderbird, the Human Target, and, most notably, Swamp Thing and Wolverine. He has won numerous industry awards, including two Shazam awards for writing and the Comic Buyers Guide Award for Best Editor. He has also been nominated for two additional Shazam awards, a Bram Stoker Award, and is currently nominated for the 2008 Hall of Fame Eisner Award. He has also received Emmy honors for his work on Batman: the Animated Series. Wein will now bring his 40 years of experience and amazing creativity to Bloodfire Studios.

BloodFire Studios has been a leading publisher of independent comics for ten years. Their innovative stories and award-winning artists are only surpassed by their unorthodox marketing. BFS has been an industry leader in marketing their comics outside of the usual comic distribution networks, exploring such venues as car shows, movie premieres, night clubs, art festivals, and street fairs as well as comic conventions and countless in-store signings. Coupled with their early adoption of the Internet as a sales tool, BFS has managed to reach incredibly high circulations on some of their titles. BloodFire Studios' creative staff includes five-time Eisner nominee Jeromy Cox, film director/writer Pearry Teo, critically acclaimed artist/director Chad Michael Ward, famed pinup artist Gene Gonzales, writers Will Allred and Dennis Greenhill, and Star Wars artists Lee Kohse and Matt Olson. BFS titles include Kindergoth, Diary of Night, Vampyrates, Intergalactic, Utopiates, and DNA Hacker Chronicles, which has now been made into a major motion picture called The Gene Generation, starring Bai Ling and Oscar winner Faye Dunaway. BloodFire Studios' website is www.bloodfire.com.
