There's a Tilliander show at the Hultsfred Festival this friday. David Fransson (New Moscow, Division Of Laura Lee) will do some vocals then. It's the first time we are playing live together, even though it's close to seven years since we recorded the first songs together. We did a live show at the swedish national radio P3 Live Lab a few weeks ago though.

Tobias von Hofsten will also be performing with me during that show. He's joining me as much as possible nowadays. Lovely.

This is the live setup for Hultsfred then:

Me - MPC-4000, Machinedrum UW, Nordlead, FX (perhaps I'll bring the old TB too. What do you recon?)
Tobias von Hofsten - TR-909, Machinedrum UW, FX
David Fransson - Vocals, FX and moonwalks.

The CD version of the Mokira album, 'Persona' is out next week. The vinyl was released in a limited edition of 400 copies worldwide this week and is already a best seller att Boomkat. If you wanna buy the vinyl, make sure you order it today:
http://www.boomkat.com/item.cfm?id=174370

"Persona, like the Bergman movie of the same name, is a bit of a masterpiece"
Mapsadaisical (Not rated)

"Warm, fuzzy tones and textures morph and mutate, creating a hypnotic creation of cuts for those who know how to lose themselves in sound"
BPM Magazine (Not rated)

"Tilliander has been a pioneer in sound for some time, but here we are invited behind the curtain for the first time."
Noripcord (Rated 8/10)

"If anything opening number "About Last Step and Scale" more suggests the darkly beautiful ambience of early-'90s Aphex Twin or Seefeel's drumless efforts than, say, Experimental Audio Research. Persona flows from that point forward as a unified piece where each song introduces new elements, such as the stuttering burbles on "Lord, Am I Going Down?" (Meanwhile, "Oscillations and Tremolo" perhaps appropriately proves to be the one full-on tribute to the work of Sonic Boom, the phased rise and fall over almost ten minutes of interwoven parts a glazed piece of electronic psychedelia.) The whole is quite entrancing; if there are now as many drone experimental releases in the world as there are labels big and small to release them, Mokira's great strength lies in his ability to make those new changes per song work against letting Persona simply become background music in a Satie/Eno sense"
AMG (Rated 3.5/5)

"It's a jarring but deeply compelling diversion point that adds dimension and space to what can only be described as the best realised album in Tilliander's already impressive catalogue"
Boomkat (Not rated)

"Like Liv Ullmann’s Elisabet in the Bergman film of the same name, Persona finds that the only genuine human expression is that of silence, of resisting the urge to create something wholly new and accepting the humble act of building atop previous achievements with machines developed by others. A big concern of electronic music throughout its history has been that the content will always be determined by the technology and, as a result, bound to its time. Mokira (Andreas Tilliander, another Swede) approaches this problem by reaching back into this history, making something that’s hard to pinpoint on one era or style."
Cokemachineglow (Rated 78/100)

"Persona starts beautifully with warm waves of sound. As it flows along, breathy, whispery voices emerge, buried, as clanking, delayed, sounds introduce themselves, reminding me of rope smacking against a flagpole on a windy day. As the voices fade and the percussion momentarily drifts away, a slightly distorted, whistling feedback creeps in, only to be once again joined by the clanking in subtle chaos. From here, the music slips to dubby, slowly progressing, percussive jabs."
Igloo Magazine (Not Rated)

The following review is somewhat my favorite. Thanks for a great laugh, Nayt Keane:

"You can perform this experiment on your own, by the way, by repeatedly cupping your ears with your hands, but Mokira does it for ten minutes - beat that! If you're just relaxing at home without loud background noise, this track just reeks of annoyance. Mokira has made a mature-sounding album. It's also pretty: pretty boring. The spark of life is dim. I hear his previous album, Album, is much better, and I'll go find that one. As a fan of ambient music, I believe there are other musicians doing this sort of thing much ********* better.."
The Silent Ballet (Rated 4.5/10)

Two days ago, my friend Alex van Heerden tragically died in a car accident in Cape Town.

Alex was a great musician and producer and I'm very honoured to have known him.
Please listen to his music and keep the memory of him alive.

Current mood:  knighted
Today I recorded an old school dub techno track using my beloved machines. Yes yes. If you decide to listen to the track, please select 'watch in hig quality' since the resolution on youtube is pretty shitty otherwise.

Tomorrow, wednesday 25th of march, will our national radio show P2 Ström return for a third season. The show is mainly in swedish but I think you might enjoy it even if it sounds like the swedish chef to you.

This year we’ll meet artist such as Pan Sonic, Laurie Anderson and  Autechre.

In the past we’ve done interviews with Richie Hawtin, Monolake, Vladislav Delay, Depeche Mode and others. More info: http://www. sr. se/p2/strom

To celebrate the start of a new season, we’ll do a night at 103 in Berlin this saturday.

Håkan Lidbo and me (as Andreas Tilliander) will do live PA’s.
Lots of other swedish chefs are playing too. Niceness.

The third release on Repeatle is out now. Once again it's dubby and slow acid or slow acidy dub.
Tape echoes and TB-303's. Some people said it's kind of dubstep too. Yes yes.

The B-side holds a remix made by Kompakt's best act The Field.
As usual, Axel is doing a great job here.

RE203 Andreas Tilliander - Stay Down 12" (Repeatle)

A1 Stay Down (06:23)
A2 Folded Lines (06:21)
B1 Stay Down (The Field Remix) (08:35)

Buy the vinyl at your local dealer, or online at hardwax.de, boomkat.com etc.
I think dotshop.se will have it as well.
You can also buy the release as mp3 at boomkat.com of beatport.com
If you live in Stockholm, Micke at Fade usually has the Repeatle 12"s.

This is the last 12" from Repeatle for this year. Hope you'll enjoy it.

There's a new 12" out on the superfantastic label Repeatle.
Again, it's acidub. This time one of the tracks feature vocals
by David Fransson of Division Of Laura Lee and New Moscow.
A couple of years ago, we recorded the 12" 'Back To The USA' together.
This is better.
As always, Christian Callmer is responsible for the great artwork.

RE202 Andreas Tilliander - She Dont Cry 12" (Repeatle)

A1 She Dont Cry (06:26)
A2 She Dont Cry (Acid Lindgren Remix) (05:44)
B1 Cold As Ice (09:09)

"Comes across like a hellish collaboration between Plastikman and Basic Channel as Tilliander takes the template of 'Sheet One' and throws it through a fog of patented dub effects to emerge with something original and shockingly effective. Analogue fiends, techno purists and dub-steppers in search of something fresh take note, Andreas Tilliander is just so on it right now....." Boomkat

Buy the vinyl at your local dealer, or online at hardwax.de, boomkat.com etc.
You can also buy the release as mp3 at beatport.com or boomkat.com
Dont worry, I'm sure it will be available thru soulseek too.

Today I met Jesus.
He signed my Spacemen 3 t-shirt. I told him that I'm his biggest fan and I felt like a teenager. He was so nice and said he'd give me a white t-shirt after the Spritualized concert and he'll sign that as well. Unfortunatley we could only stay for two thirds of the set though.

I've started a label called Repeatle. Musicwise it's all about tape delays and bass. Acid Dub. Or as I prefer calling it, Acidub.

The first release is a track that I've been performing live for 4-5 years now. It's called "Bonnarock".
The B-side is better than the A-side though. It's a slow and noisy cut with TB-303's, space echoes and a 808 kick.
