Yesterday my puppy Oliver had a terrible accident. He got his eyelid pierced by a metal hook from a partician for his crate.  It was terrifying for him and for me. I shudder to think how bad his injury would have been had Matt and I not been right there to rescue him.  Thankfully, his eyeball was not damaged more than some pretty nasty looking bruising. His eyelid was pierced all the way through, but that's healing up nicely already. It was very swollen yesterday, but has gone down considerably today. I've been giving him antibiotics for his wounds and a lot of TLC. It looks like he's been in a barroom brawl and been socked in the eye. I took him to the emergency vet yesterday (because it was a Sunday) and to my regular vet today. As far as anyone can tell, it seems that he's going to be fine. I'm so thankful that he wasn't hurt as severely as he could have been. I felt so guilty after it happened, even though it was such a freak accident. As soon as we got back from the vet yesterday, I threw the partician away so this would never happen again. I love my little guy so much and am so happy that he's going to be alright.
