Derek's new solo album "Three Worlds" is now available at www.amanirecords.com!! A collaborative project with artist Jesse Sprinkle (Dead Poetic, Kutlass, Demon Hunter) of Blind Records, this project is the result of Jesse and Derek's journey to Uganda last August. (I'll tell you a secret...Jesse is in Uganda right NOW.) "What began as an idea to get some African songs down became a full-blown record! Both Jesse and I are thrilled with how it came out, and are thankful we can share this music with the world," said Derek Joseph. "I've sold over 300,000 albums in my music career," said Jesse Sprinkle, "and by far my work and time in Uganda is the most fulfilling thing I've ever been a part of." Both Jesse and Derek not only ministered in teaching and music, but also worked with The Ugandan Water Project, a humanitarian clean-water project birthed through Isaiah Six Ministries. Jesse not only lends his song-crafting and vocal skill to the project, but as a pro drummer, arranged some African percussion tracks. "Rhythm of Mubende" is an instrumental arrangement inspired by a small group of African drummers in a village called Mubende that greeted Derek and Jesse (and team) with African percussion on wood, metal, cowskin drums, and sprockets! You'll also be able to download this album soon from Rhapsody and I-Tunes.

Hey there friends! I'm pretty stoked to let you know that the shipment for my new fictional book "The King's Secret" just arrived! They look outstanding. I hired two different professional artists for the cover and illustrations inside and the finished product looks great! You can see a video of me opening the box and seeing the book for the first time on my Facebook. Just search "Derek Joseph" and you'll find my artist page and personal page. For those that haven't heard my vision for the book, I wanted to write a fictional story that would help young people grow in their understanding of God's love and grace. The book is especially useful for families to use in family devotions as it has discussion questions at the end of every chapter. You can order a copy today at www.amanirecords.com/shopGod bless you! Thanks for stopping in!! Derek J Isaiah Six

Hey friends...just posted a video about our plans for Uganda this year. Personally, I'm going twice. May
I'll be ministering at a senior pastor's conference in music and speaking in Kampala in May. I'll also be going to several villages where tanks will be installed for the Ugandan Water Project that we're running through our ministry. Finally, I'll be investigating the possibility of starting an orphan house for young woman (ages 15-21), a forgotten demographic of fatherless youth. Pray for me! August
We'll be returning with the whole crew to minister in music and speaking at the national youth conference in Kampala. We'll also be continuing our perpetual work with the Ugandan Water Project...more villages, more installations, more impact. I need to raise $8000 for my work in Uganda this year. Please pray about helping out! You can donate online at www.isaiahsix.com or by sending a donation to: attn. Uganda 2009 Project Isaiah Six P.O. Box 10A Lima, NY 14485 Thanks for your love and support!! Derek J

Hey all...just posted three new tunes from my collaborative solo project I just finished with Jesse Sprinkle. This album was inspired by our journey to Uganda last August (and my history in Africa) where we ministered together at a youth conference and worked with The Ugandan Water Project.
Some of the songs actually came while there, and others we finished upon our return. Some of the songs are co-writes between Jesse and I. Making this album was an amazing experience and I'm really excited about how God is going to use it. Except for the East African praise tunes, we purposely tried not to use overtly Christian vocabulary (though very Christian in spirit), as this album has a humanitarian appeal that will reach a broad audience. Some tidbits about the songs I posted:
"Three Worlds": this was a co-write with Jesse, and has a very challenging message about not only living in "your world" and "my world" but also the "third world" where people suffer. It's a world we often don't pay attention to. Check out the anthem feel at the end of the song. The choir includes my daughters Grace and Joye.
"Angel": This song came to me on the plane returning home from Uganda. It is a song I wrote for my Ugandan daughter Susan, who was abandoned by her father when she converted to Christ. My family has embraced her as our own. After the Lord spoke to me to "love her like you love your own daughters" in Kampala, I cried for almost two weeks straight!
"Upendo": a traditional Swahili praise song. My daughters Grace, Joye, and Essie are in the "shout choir".
Hope the music blesses you! You can reserve your copy soon on www.amanirecords.com!! Please help us spread the word!

I've already mentioned that we'll be releasing a new Derek Joseph & Isaiah Six worship album later this year, but I'm also stoked to tell you about a new solo project I'm working on.
Been writing for a solo album for a few months, and finally got in the studio this week to finish it! It's my first collaborative album (a joint project with another artist). I'm working with recording artist Jesse Sprinkle (Poor Old Lu, Dead Poetic, Kutlass). Some of the songs are his originals, some mine, and some are co-writes. We're also including some medleys we learned in Africa on our trip together last August. The album will definitely be flavored with African influences, as our work with The Ugandan Water Project inspired the whole thing.
Among my original tunes are:
"The Other Side of the World": a song I wrote in Uganda last August as I was moved by the suffering I'd seen in the villages.
"Three Worlds": a co-write with Jesse Sprinkle about the fact that we all live in "three worlds." The first is yours, the second is mine, and the third world is where the poor and suffering live. It's a world we often don't see or want to see, but we must all choose live in all three worlds, or our love grows cold, and we fail to make the difference we can make.
"Angel": this is a song that came to me on the plane on the way back from Uganda. I wrote it to my Ugandan daughter Susan. She was abandoned by her family when she became a Christian, and was found living alone in an abandoned house before the pastors from Kampala took her in. It's really a love song from a father to a daughter. Some lyrics:
When I saw you I could not stop thinking I knew That you would be mine Somebody hurt you But I am not like him at all I want to love you As you love me
You are an angel You are an angel You are an angel to me
Stay tuned! I'll let you know when it's done! The album will be released on both labels Amani Records and Blind Records. You'll be able to get it at www.amanirecords.com and hear some of it at www.myspace.com/isaiahsixband

"The King's Secret" is going to print next week! It should be ready by mid-February. You can get your copy at www.amanirecords.com as soon as it's available. It'll also be available on www.amazon.com. This book is about a young bitter orphan girl named Jane of Aldengate whose life is transformed by a series of events that occur in the Land of Aletheia. I wrote the book to help young people understand the truths of God's grace, and how they can change a life. I especially envision this book being useful for parents to read to their children (ages 8-12). It has discussion questions at the end of every chapter to help drive home the lessons. Stay tuned! It'll be ready soon! Derek Joseph

New Derek Joseph & Isaiah Six album "Save the River" is coming in 2009. The driving idea behind it is that if we lose the heart of David in worship, and it all becomes just about performance and good music, we lose "the river" of God's presence.
It's definitely gonna be a worship album with a few concert tunes mixed in like we always do. We use those to deliver a message that we might not be able to say in a worship song. Already finished writing the title cut "Save the River" which, for me, is a prophetic word to worship leaders everywhere.
Please keep us in prayer as we'll probably get busy on it by February.
God bless y'all!!
Derek J
