haven't worked since May... applications submitted everywhere and not one interview or call back.  Maybe I should apply for this job.

Tonight we held a
candle light vigil to bring attention to the urgent need for healthcare reform with a public option.
Every day people lose their insurance. Many people are excluded coverage because of pre-existing conditions. And many people simply can't afford it. We need reform that will address all these needs now.

I visited Washington DC 35 years ago this month, just after Nixon resigned. I will never forget going into the Senate Gallery and watching Senator Kennedy give an impassioned speech calling for universal health care. To honor his memory we must accomplish this without fail.
Kennedy fought throughout his life with one goal in mind: to improve the lives of working people.

Don't you just hate it when people get attacked and killed because someone misunderstood the voices and thought he was doing the Lord's work?

Twenty years ago on the 5th of June

Little is known about this anonymous young hero except his courage. I assume like all of us he had hopes and dreams of a good life. He is seen carrying shopping bags. Was he a newlywed carrying things to a beautiful bride? Perhaps he was single and carrying some groceries home to an elderly parent. I believe we can safely assume that he had other he wanted to get done that day.

Previously, I had always thought that this action was spontaneous. (Which doesn't diminish the bravery) But yesterday, A.P. reporter Terril Jones revealed a photo he took showing the "Tank Man" from ground level, a different angle than all of the other known photos of the "Tank Man".

In this new photo you can see others running and fleeing the oncoming tanks, while "Tank Man" calmly walks toward them. The distance is such that I believe he had time to think about what he was doing. He knew what might happened, and could have changed his mind, yet he deliberately continued.

Six years ago even this dog knew that war is a bad idea.

Come one come all be loud, be clear. We have to end this war  and work for peace.

Captain Jack is really Captain Jackie!

Had a DNA test (best way to know for birds) done on Captain Jack.  I want to make sure he was a male because I wanted to find him a female Orange wing amazon for some companionship.  Surprise!  It turns out "he" is actually a female. So I guess it is on to "plan B".

While I was at the Bird Hut (112 & Division) This Blue and Gold Macaw really acted like he wanted to go home with me.  I think it was just because I had a bird on my shirt.

One last shoe...
This past Thursday I once again donned  the old Bush behind bars costume  demanding some accountability.  (Thanks Joe for the photos.)

If we don't hold Bush accountable for his crimes, history will judge us poorly.   The documented damage inflicted upon the United States, its Constitution, and citizens by the Bush Crime Family is truly immeasurable.  But here is a list of seven most horrible.  The only thing Bush should be looking forward to is a fair trial  and prison.

more   good riddance of bad rubbish   Senator Larry Craig.  and his famous bathroom. The hypocrite  who called Clinton a nasty bad boy and got caught with his pants down leaves the Senate. I , like others, paid a visit last year, and I  unlike wide stance Larry didn't have any problem staying in the stall.
