Thanks to all those that attended the Echelon Productions sponsored show at the Rock & Roll Hotel this past Friday (Oct. 6). We had a great turnout and a good time was had by all! For those that slept, here were the surprises we were telling you about. We debuted Outputmessage manning the beats for Person. Young Rae stepped up to the mic for "You Ain't Hot." Metropolitan Burlesque flaunted and increased the heat for Person's set by struttin' their stuff for the last two numbers. And a new remix of Person's "Business Class" done by producer Alex "XXXChange" of SPANK ROCK! Yes, yes, ya'll. You heard it right. We're getting ready to release a limited edition 12" single with said remix and another remix of "Pharisee Pride" by Outputmessage. That ish is going to be off the chain! We'll also have it available on ITunes. So keep an ear out for all these upcoming releases. Again, thanks for Bellflur, Ladycop, and Schooner for making the eclectic night a success! Word. Busy is an understatement 'round these parts. So this will be brief, but saccharine sweet. First off, this Friday, October 6, Echelon Productions is hosting a show at the fabulous new DC venue, The Rock & Roll Hotel. Our friends Bellflur, Ladycop, and Schooner will be playing with yours truly as Person. I have some surprises in store for the performance, so you'll have to find out for yourself as to what those may be. Peep the flyer, done by Carlos of Bellflur right here. The venue (1353 H St., NE, Washington, DC) is 18 and over, the cover charge is $10, and doors open promptly at 9 pm! So come on out! Second, Stamen & Pistils have been busy trying to finish up our recording. We've asked many of our friends to collaborate with us this time around and frankly we're pretty excited about the whole thing. We'll let you in on the details as time passes. --cheers echelon productions

DC is really gross right now, and if you can help it, I don't recommend anyone step outside. I know how hard I've tried to avoid doing so. Thanks again to everyone who came out to see Stamen & Pistils last week at the Black Cat. Great times and great turnout. That will be the last scheduled show until at least October when, assuming everything goes according to plan. they resurface with a recording of a new album in tow. Very excited for that one, as a few friends, both new and old will be joining the lads in the Meadhall for the sessions. Thanks to Smother for the kind words about the Person album. Right now you can scoop up the record from our shop or other fine establishments such as AmpCamp, Amazon, and CDBaby, amongst others. This weekend we've got a couple of things going on to help keep you busy. And they are air conditioned, so you can avoid the blistering heat. On Saturday, August 5, come join us at Murky's Coffee in Arlington as S&Pers John and Miguel rock out in their other band, Metropolitan. This is an all ages show, $5. Murky's is located at 3211 Wilson Boulevard in Arlington VA. Then on Sunday, August 6th, Person will be gracing the stage at DC's newest hotspot, The Red & The Black. He will be joined on the roster by The Roosevelt & The Motion Sick. Oh yes! And our good friend, artist, and fellow collaborator Outputmessage has a brand spanking new record coming out next Tuesday. Its called "Nebulae" and you can pick it up at Amazon. Featuring some pretty shit hot art designed by us here at Echelon, this record will be released worldwide by the kind folks at Melodic. A pretty brilliant collection of tunes that we've been grooving to all summer. Get yr pre-orders in now. (Don't tell anyone, but the vinyl version is our favorite. Shh...) Whew. lots going on. Stay tuned here and on MySpace for more info about upcoming shows and upcoming releases. We're hard at it to make it all happen for you.

Things have been hectic around the camp as of late. We've gotten some interesting press for Person's Entitled. For those who know him, folks are aware that he has a certain something that attracts gay men. And this review from Treble Zine is no exception. Once the dust settles, we should be back on track. Hope everyone's 4th of July is safe.

Deadlines have gone and I sit here still trying to catch the wave of organization. Yes yes YES! Bbq weddings and summertime one-minute rendezvous flings in the laundry room, where unfortunately the dryers don't work. But enough about ruminating on events-that-will-never-be. Let's talk about things that are slated to occur in the most endearing of ways. You know, reality. I find that endearing, don't you? Stamen and Pistils get to play this Sunday, July 2nd @ the new Red & Black (1212 H St., NE Washington, DC) with newfound friends from Richmond, VA, Homemade Knives. We'll also be playing with Baltimore's Madagascar, Seattle's Emma Zunz, and Western Massachusett's John Shaw (of Son of Earth/The Believers). Doors open @ 8:30 and the fee is $7. It will be transplendant.

We are sending out a friendly reminder that, Person's "Entitled" will be available on Amazon.com and in our shop. We'll let you know once it's available through other avenues, too! We're slowly starting to get some press for the album, too! New York City-based 75 Minutes weekly podcast has Person's track, "Motives," featured in this week's episode ( Episode No. 046). He is featured alongside the likes of People Under The Stairs and Andrew Broder aka Fog. Go check out their webpage and MySpace page! Also, New York-based indie music blog, Hip Pop Hooray!, has taken quite a liking to the new record. We'd say they got what Person was going for. Show them some love.

Metropolitan will be playing with a few new up and coming local bands this Saturday, June 10 @ DC9. The lineup includes; Let's French, Seth Kallen and our new buddies, Deleted Scenes. A lots been stirring round the DC scene as of late. We've made some new friends and some of our old ones have surprised us with new tricks up their hip corduroy sleeves. Our good friend Nick P, of Planaria Records/Design fame, has recently joined forces with some DC movers and shakers, and launched a new label (which we love), called Gypsy Eyes Records. The lineup is sick and we hope to work with some of the cats gracing their roster. Weve also made fast friends with the new upcoming local band and DCist fave, Deleted Scenes. We hope to play with them soon. Theyll be playing DCists Unbuckled, opening up for Georgie James on May 25! In the meanwhile, Deleted Scenes bass player Fatty, is also in a band called, Parachute Musical, which features former members of Burning Airlines/Govt Issue/Shi-Toh/Wool. Were pretty excited because well be playing with them on June 5, 2006 at DC9. Joining us in the lineup is a pretty rockin trio from Athens, GA called Psychic Hearts. Check them both out. Itll be a fantastic show, despite the fact its on a Monday. Honestly, every single one of you need to suck it up and not sleep on this show. Seriously. So to recap: June 5, 2005 DC9 Stamen & Pistils/Psychic Hearts/Parachute Musical The cost is $7. Not even a question, really, you have to go. Period. Peep the flyer here.

Our good friend and label artist, Bernard, aka Outputmessage, has been named as one of Urb's 2006 Next 100 (or what they like to call "the hottest of the hot new shit"). He's mentioned alongside the likes of Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, She Wants Revenge, Ariel Pink, and I'd say about approximately 96 more hot up and coming artists! Pick up a copy and take a gander at his dashing mug on that piece! He's got a song currently out on the 2CD Idol Tryouts Vol.2 compilation ( Ghostly) and is about to drop his long-awaited debut full length called Nebulae (June 5, 2006 on Melodic!). He has also contributed his mad production skills on one track in the upcoming Person debut album, Entitled! Be sure to stay tuned because Outputmessage will be dropping more hits in 2006!
