Been checking out a site called Second Life. It's basically an entire world created by the people who have accounts on it. So you get a little bit of everything in there. My web comic friend Calan, creator of Gingerdead.com, introduced me to it. Some of the locations in SL have been a blast to check out. Its amazing that people actually make a living on this site since you can trade in your in game cash called Linden Dollars for real world money. Makes for an odd mix of entertaining and commercial locations in SL. I havent explored enough to figure out if i am going to love it enough to stay with it but so far i am enjoying the vast experience that is SL. With so much to do and see i am sure it will keep me interested for a good while. The only drawback to the system is the lack of a manual or some sort of decent orientation like a tutorial. Without the kind help of my friend i may have gotten discouraged by the control system before i figured it out. Also learning the jargon has been a tiny handicap. The people in SL have been patient with my noobness so far so i havent felt too bad. I accidently put something on my head that wasnt supposed to go there and that was good for a laugh as it seems to be a right of passage in SL. I got a good pic out of it though so i dont feel too bad about it. All in all i would say check it out for yourself as it is free to create an account and doesnt cost much to get the Linden dollars to play arround with. Making an Avatar and changing it to fit your personality is one of the fun things in this system. Depending on how bored you get with your look you can end up spending a good deal of cash getting upgrades and such so be prepared for that. I myself have found that its more so for the women hehe. I see so many cool things for female Avatars and it makes me want to have one till i think of all the money i would dump on her to make her cool. lol. Someday i am sure i will make one just to play around but for now i am happy with my guy being what he is. Try it out and have fun.
