http://fionakeenan.com/blog.cfm?feature=613415&pos...

well, it's been far too long since i got around to this. perhaps not with very good reason but hey ho! the last few months have been eventful. i've played many gigs, done a lot of writing and and a lot of thinking and finally learnt my way around a soldering iron. now that i have time to breathe in and out i can come back and blog like a sensible person.

i've started a new electronic audio project, and it has a home online here. all the new sounds i'm learning to make will find their way onto the new record i'm sure. work on that is going slowly, mostly because this time i am taking my time but also because i am waiting to update my gear before committing the first tracks to tape. it seems that the new songs need a lot of new thinking, and that has been fun.

bizarrely enough, this blog has attracted some spam in my absence. i don't know if there is a equation that could relate 'time away' to 'volume of spam' but in my head that makes sense. anyway, while clearing out the comments i came across a particular bit that i am going to leave you with. i believe the fictitious lady in question was trying out her english skills...

'hope is the only test of gravity, and gravity hope'

class test: put that into a lyric if you can. hmmm.

hello all - i've posted some new tracks on this page, and you can listen to my set from the lost and found night on 19th feb at www.fionakeenan.com. i've started a blog too but not on this page! it's on the website. ironic. perhaps i can keep both in a state of repair at the same time. oh, and you can view a new youtube video from the lost and found gig on this page too. i am definitely making a fool of myself.

Things have been busy this side of the world... preparations are underway for the next album and recording will start over Christmas, as well as a backlog of live tracks to be posted online, and some choice live performances to prepare for.

In the meantime, Fiona has been picking through her many many old recordings to post a musical archive of sorts online at www.fionakeenan.com . You can listen to some of her very first recordings, the odd live performance captured to tape, and also her more recent releases with So Quiet it Kame. Oh, and you can download the lot for free of course. Listen to the hard working musician sing her way into her voice and learn her way around a fretboard.

Head to www.fionakeenan.com for more footage of Fiona's recent performance on SHMU fm on 8th July 2008 [including the brand new song 'out here'] - you can also listen to the whole show, and view the new video of a waiting room's packaging being assembled.

Yum!
