Huge thanks to David (WFNX), Shred (WBCN) and Jeff Breeze (WMBR) for spinning some tracks off the new EP.  New song up just added.  And also, huge thanks to Michael Marotta from the Boston Herald for reporting about our upcoming don't call it a residency residency.

Hey y'all.  We've been nominated a couple times for another one of these silly "Best Music Poll" thingys.  If you aint doing nothing, clicky here and go to town. Seems unlikely that we'll beat Mission of Burma or Bang Camaro, but the Phoenix is kind enough to LET THE PEOPLE HAVE THEIR SAY and all that.  So do the write thing.  Cheers!

Next Wednesday Feb. 28th. 5 bucks!!! I think we are going on around 11 or so.
It's pretty impromptu and casual but get there early cause the place ain't that big.
We are going to be test driving some new shit so it should be interesting.

Also, you can now get all our shit on ITunes so be a dear and buy a song.
It's the only way we get Steve to return our calls, really, we've tried many different approaches. Just check out the myspace page for the link.

So in honor of "Photo" finally seeing the light of day on the"Knocks From The Underground" comp I'm posting the lyrics.
Falconer sings this one so that makes it special. The words are pretty reminiscent of , um, well, other things  but let him have it ok. He pines well.

"Photo"

Half the night
Sped up in sweat
Where did it all go wrong
How did I let
You leave my sight without a fight
I'm feeling cursed and the rain makes it worse
I know the course you sail on
The stars are all gone
The tide seems so high but I'm not moving on
Or getting better
I sit and shudder
You got to let me know when your coming back home.
She's got the photo
That she won't give away
She sits down by the docks all day
Is her ship coming in or did it just go out
Is it just something that she cries about

And I know, it ain't easy
But I will push it for the sake of tragedy
If I feel bad enough keep to myself enough
I might win in the end I just might
See that poor fool in the rain
See him shake, see him shiver
Hear him whisper my name put it to sleep because

She's got the photo
That she won't give away
She sits down by the docks all day
Is her ship coming in or did it just go out
Is it just something that she cries about
She's got the photo
It seems so common place
To be erased by another face
She's got the photo that she can't live without
And no one knows what she's crying about
She won't tell nobody what it's about
(note:I think some kind of malfunction happened here, I can't really tell what he is saying...Something about a city of glass)
She's got the photo
That she won't give away
She sits down by the docks all day
Is her ship coming in or did it just go out
Is it just something that she cries about
She's got the photo

It's M'nF'n Dave Parm's birthday so we are all going down to Ralph's on Friday.
Apparently Black Flag and The Minutemen are playing as well as Carry The Zero.
I hope it is not like the last time the Flag played Ralph's as detailed in Rollins' "Get In The Van". Not sure if I feel like doing the tussle with any men in blue.
Should be a hoot thought. I'll see you there?
Ok so here is "One In The Gut".
This one started as kind of a joke. We just wanted to see what we were capable of.
It is now one of my favorite songs to play, mainly because I usually pass out at the end.
I think the lyrics sort of speak for themselves.
Don't cross the Campaign.
"One In The Gut"

Tell the good doctor there's no need for police
This man is going nowhere
He's spitting lies like he is spreading disease
We'll save ourselves in this house
Your one last good look at yourself
Can't walk for miles to be chopped at the knees
I may be blind but I can see
Your shaking worse than what the drink does to me
Tell it to a priest
He'll write off every little misstep you took
Your mouth my foot

Climb up the walls
For a good fall
It's sinking in
I won't begin
Too hear this litany of sin

And now your crying about some history
This is your education
What you were taught gave you mistaken beliefs
Yeah you cut your teeth
You never bargained they'd be punched out before you could spit out

Climb up the walls
For a good fall
It's sinking in
I won't begin
Too hear this litany of sin

Make your peace
You made your bed
this fiction has a bitter end
It's one in the gut
and two in the head
Cut it up and weigh it down
Put the rest underground

Now everyone says there is love to be lent
It never passed upon me
Stop crying
There's nothing you can say that I will believe
Beg and bargain plead
It's just a role I play
Shoot that little, stupid, fucker

I talked enough
I talked to you
I told you what I wouldn't do
You act like you never saw this coming
Yeah, it's due
You tie me up and weigh me down
I'll bury you before I'm in the ground

In Your Dreams or One In The GutIn Your Dreams or One In The GutIn Your Dreams or One In The GutIn Your Dreams or One In The Gut...ok I'm going to flip a coin...tails is Dreams....
tails...
Before I start...Have you noticed that this band isn't constantly littering your inbox and comments page with annoying, generic promo shit.
It's called a mailing list everybody.
Just because we added you as a friend does not mean we choose to be inundated with your show listings and record announcements on a daily basis.
That's what blogs and bulletins are for. That way people have a choice.
Get it?
Gonna drop a fagan here and say"I'm a fool to do your dirty work..."
Ok, so not much commentary on this, it sort of is what it is, which is...I don't know, sometimes relationships between people can be nothing but complicated.
On a technical note this song has two bridges the we referred to as Jeff and Beau, (sorry Lloyd). It sort of didn't help to differentiate them really because we could never agree which one was which.
Until next time....Rory

"In Your Dreams"
Tell me one last thing that I could prove
To chase away every bad dream I gave to you
The blood was so bitter
The past is a river
That sometimes flows right back to you
You walk that road to just move on
There's nothing here
And nothings wrong
A face in the mirror
Doesn't get clearer
It's just hidden by the lines I've drawn

I think about it when the lights go on
There's only one place that I know I belong
It stands beside me just like everyday
I don't believe but a belief can stray

And all for naught
Well there you go
I didn't say that
I didn't mean to
I'm better than bitter
My swagger still shivers
And long ago is long ago
And how I blush it's obvious
Don't disregard a single touch
There's something I promise
We're lost in an honest
Breaking out of breaking up

Just take it off and say
"Imagined it was me"
Just take it off and be
ok

I think about it when the lights go on
There's only one place that I know I belong
It stands beside me just like everyday
I don't believe but a belief can stray
And every time you talk about a life you just can't live
and every little slight that you just don't want to forgive
I think about it like it's right from wrong
Somewhere between the two you still hold on

Just take it all and fall
Wish it all away
Just take it all again

So New Years was a blast.
DB got electrocuted and then continued to play with the lights.
It reminded me of a kid who got wrecked and did the kiver from sucking down to much nitrous.
He then immediately got up and said,
"Where's that balloon...",
Fucking spirit man.
But seriously folks,
Thank you.
2006 is a hell of a year and I am just grateful to say I have been there.
2007 is brighter and DB figured out a way to control the lights with his foot.
So, there are so many different versions of this song that I'm having trouble remembering the de-facto version but basically here it is.
This came from a night when Lee and I we're watching "The Third Eye" on Nickelodeon in the Chelsea.
There are all sorts of Fagan's floating around here and it seems as time goes on more appear.
But for the novices, see if you can spot
Philip K. Dick, Pavement, and Pink Floyd.
Have fun-Rory
PS-Also, I think this song has the most liberal use of the word baby ever.

Adjustments

What if you got a little bit younger
Or maybe the room got a little bit bigger
That's the the time that the vultures are coming out
You see we come from a time when the sky is the hue of dead channels
and when you go to sleep
You don't know where you are

You change, you change, you change
Because your hands they are cold and grey
Che che la femme
You don't say say say
You don't believe in nothing
I gotta show you something
I'll make the sun a shining
I'll change the car your driving
Who's got the money honey
Seems the times they sre a thriving
You'll go from print to cursive
From weak into assertive
You think it's drastic baby but I assure that it's furtive

Collapse, collapse, collapse
You say my reach exceeds my grasp
Feynman Diagram
Well you know know no
That's when I gotta go
Throw a brick right through your window
Have I got your attention
I haven't failed to mention
I'll change the rules when suddenly the game goes in contention
You'll go from cheap to expense
Salience to nonsense
What good's a mirror baby after making the Adjustments
Adjustments

You'll see the master plan
When you know just who I am
You cannot see it but your getting with the program
We're talking old religion
with two, three, multi visions
No competition to what you think is your decision
Your systems lazy
It drives you crazy
But you know lately I still love you baby
But you know I'm all alone I can never get home
I ain't never ever getting dragged down by the stone

You change You change You change
Keep smoking chains to stay awake Galwadzcottam(sp?)
Run away way way
We're at the bitter end of the time of your surrender
You think this is enthralling
I'll stop the rain from falling
We're sticking to the plan because we know this is our calling
This ain't know accident
We both know what we meant
What good's a mirror baby after making the Adjustment
Adjustment
Your like a burnt match
and you know what we do with burnt matches?
We throw books at them we have read backwards and forwards, you see it's a metaphor
We know where we're coming from and we know where we're going to
I just don't know what we're doing right now

You'll see the master plan
When you know just who I am
No guarantees that you'll be getting with the program
We're talking old religion
with two, three, multi visions
No competition to what you think is your decision
Your systems lazy
It drives you crazy
But you know lately I still love you baby
But you know I'm all alone I can never get home
I ain't never ever getting dragged down by the stone

Hope everyone had a good holiday.
Get your New Years tickets now!!!
http://www.greatscottboston.com/
Only 15 bucks advance.

Ok, so this song is all Lee. I don't know what drugs he did on the day we cut this but he wasn't sharing...the phrase "herioc dose" comes to mind.
Most impressive.

"Song for New Amsterdam"

In the best interests of full disclosure we should not bemoan the fact that you're either going to get juked or nixed or crept one out of the three. And there are going to be those who dance and say that we deserve it, that's when I'm going to say, "let the other 40,000,000 people out there get famous."

Me? I'd rather stay nameless
Leave my remnants in folded up love letters
Shove them under wobbly coffee tables
Let them discern
While you'll be stuck in a held-over pattern
You'll be looking for the hidden messages throughout
The Chinese restaurant take-out menus
Let them party
You see I've never felt so far away
While I'm struggling to think over the din of screaming headlines in my eyes
Let them suture
Got no past and I got no future but
Here I am I reminicing and I'm pulling pints with my new-found friends over yesterdays
So let them buy mine
When I'm in a cougar bar
They're going to buy me a gin and tonic
While I make sure I'm going to get myself a movie cel of closing credits
Let them renege
You'll be holding back tears ever time you walk through two beams of light
Knowing full well what you saw that day.
Let them confine
Every time you walk around ghost towns
You can search for redemption
But settle for cell phone reception
Let them devise
Cute sloganeering while I say, "hey,
Maybe inevitability aint such a bad thing after all
Least for now"
Let the descry
Grokking fine feeling high in the off-time
Between well-known birthdays of well-known assassins
Let them dethrone
Everybody knows that it's all well-known that
Those who will be born in '46
Are going to die in '64
Let them define
I'll throw the outcome of curling contests
And then write editorials of what I did to hide the dollars and cents
Let them connive.
Contemplate the gavitas of having the coffee cup handle
Face to the left or face to the right
Let them relive
You can spend a whole afternoon patching up a sieve
While I'll just recast it as miniature Aztec artifacts
Let them remind
Retract the flags to half-mast
In memory of the untimely death of the creator of the Impala
Amen
Let the design
A sure-fire retrofit of an unmodernizable city
I dare you to try and gerrymander it's watery borders
Let them divine
You want to try and tell me the weather's just fine
The day after the next Easter
And the Easter after that and the Easter after that

Let me resign myself to the fact that this is how it's gonna end and if I have to wait til next Tuesday then, by God, Monday cannot come soon enough. So just shellac the directions on the nearest telephone pole, 'cause maybe, maybe, maybe I should have faked my own death.

Don't you realize that right now that
The dusk is the new night
Ennui is the fight
Collapse is the new [censored]
Esel is the new zeit
Unsure is the new quite
Anger is the new polite
And through it all fuck you is still fuck you.

Merry Merry from the Campaign.
Don't forget to order tickets for New Years eve
http://www.greatscottboston.com/
15 advance 17 at the door
and now something from "Let It Rise"

Rachel Says

Look into her eyes the feint of a rumor
The world and the world without
The glint of a blade or some passive consuming
You'll barely make it out
Because if it's a bad idea
Then she'll make it disappear
Bury the ashes
Welcome the hatchet
A story that you've been told
No excuses
Please no remorse
There's a back alley and I'll tell you gladly
How you can go and get yourself lost
Or get in debt, better yet, make me a pet
I'll shake when I'm wet
Scramble on all fours

Rachel says
To wilt, to bend
To break what binds
Don't waste your time

I've got a picture that I can show
It's older than me but I know
She has a reflection
It's not in the action
But how the sun sits low
Low and behold the fear
Maybe I could die right here
I'm not here to tell you twice
You never listen to advice
Or wake the dead
I never said
I would be lead to offer you up

Rachel says
To wilt, to bend
To break what binds
Don't waste your time
And you can break inside
Every little stupid piece of heart
I ever left behind

She's given up on sympathy
Lost it in a robbery
Consider your allusion to the truth
You bury yourself
I can't abide by flattery
Knowing you would stick me in a pinch
Have me lynched
She offers an apology
"What's killing you is killing me,
I'm bound, modern philosophy,
atrocity is wrought to sea"
So smile when you're talking to me
Don't take a picture
Smile
