Yep, there's a new place to find me: Twitter. In addition to MySpace and Facebook, I've set up a Twitter account. I'll post pictures from set and updates whenever possible. Of course, most of it will just be random stuff. But that's the point, right?

(But not quite yet...)

The new season will premiere in April. Here are the current air dates for the first three shows, with new episodes to come every week...

April 8 - Hollywood Demolition Derby
This one is an awesome 2-hour special, and I think some of our best work. We flip a bus from Speed, smash a car through a fruit stand, a mobile home, and a chain link fence, and make an instant convertible like Smokey and the Bandit. We also revisit Compact Compact with another semi-trailer collision, and this time, use a rocket sled. And finally, we drop a car from a helicopter to see if a luxury car on the ground can beat the acceleration of gravity. Lots and lots of car mayhem!! Not to be missed.

April 15 - Alaska Special 2
Adam and Jamie test the mythical substance Pykecrete, which is simply wood pulp and water frozen. Supposedly, there was a wartime plan to make aircraft carriers out of the stuff. It's incredibly strong and even bullet-proof! Kari, Tory and I try to split a car all the way down the middle with the great mother of all snowplows.

April 22 - Bananas and Diamonds
Adam and Jamie test Slipping on a Banana Peel and Double Dipping, while Kari, Tory, and I try to make Homemade Diamonds using various recipes from the internet and CSI.

So hang in there, Mythbusters faithful, new shows are coming...

Q: What happened to Kari's profile?

A: Kari deleted her profile. The folks at Discovery are spearheading an effort to get rid of all fake profiles and will establish a new, official Mythbusters profile. In the meantime, Kari figured that since Discovery is now actively policing the MySpace and Facebook online networks, that she didn't need to keep her placeholder up. Also, you may have noticed a number of other profiles have disappeared recently. Tory and I are still around, and are in fact Tory and I.

Grant

Hey there! I've been getting a lot of questions about when new shows will be out. Have no fear, Discovery has lots of shows saved up for a whole new set of shows starting in late July, including an awesome 2-hour Shark Week special. There will also be a huge marketing push with billboards in some areas, commercials on other channels, and print media. Be patient, we'll be back with all new episodes soon.

Grant

UPDATE: 2-hour Shark Week special premieres Sunday, July 27, and new episodes start August 6. Eleven new shows in a row!!!

Okay, that's all. More updates soon about my recent LASIK surgery....

The real question here is where haven't we been! In the first three weeks of this shooting block, we've been to South Carolina to see if we could beat the FMRI lie detector, BusterCon 1.0 in San Francisco, Chandler, Arizona to try and cut down a tree with a minigun (gatling gun), skydiving in Union City, CA (indoors) and Davis, CA (out in the real blue yonder), and now we're in Washington exposing cockroaches to radiation to see if they can survive a nuclear blast. Needless to say, we've been off and running for a while... More updates to come!

UPDATE: During my break before this shooting block started, I returned to the modelmaking world and went back to Kerner Optical to help out for a week on a model for a gigantic hotel on the water in Dubai. I also completed an article for ROBOT Magazine reviewing the cool new Vexplorer robot from Revell. AND Jamie and I are going to the DARPA Urban Challenge in Victorville, CA as special correspondents for the Science Channel live webcast. We'll be talking to teams and reporting on the event live!

Cheers,
Grant

So just to clear up our coming convention schedule:

Unfortunately, we won't be going to GenCon this year, but we're looking at doing 2008. However, we will be going to DragonCon. We'll be doing a massive 2-hour panel discussion with all-new behind-the-scenes footage, and we'll each be judging a costume contest.

Hope to see you there!
