Dear Revive followers,

There are definitely times in a band's career that are hard to see happen. Revive is in the midst of one of those times.

Our guitarist Tyler Hall has decided to hang up his guitar and say goodbye to Revive.

There is no doubt that he will be sorely missed. He is our dearly loved friend and brother in Christ and we have shared many great times together!

Although this news was hard to hear, we fully support his decision. We wish him all the very best in the future and are eager to see how God continues to use him.

Ty will be performing with us for the next month while we find a replacement. His final show will be on September the 12th at Disney's Night of Joy. His final show in Australia will be on the 4th December at the Entertainment Center (details to come)

We would really appreciate your support and prayers in this time.

Ty has written a statement below explaining his decision. We will also post his statement on our website (www.reviveband.com). If you wish to send him a comment you can do so there.

Alternatively you can email us (band@reviveband.com) and we will see that he gets it.
God Bless!

Revive

FROM TY:

Dear Friends,

Revive has been a big part of my life so it is with sadness that I have decided to end my journey with the band and return home to Australia. My musical journey began with Dave and I strumming (badly) on acoustic guitars in my parents' garage. That garage is the birthplace of Revive 9 years ago. We have come a long way (and I would like to think I'm not strumming so badly anymore), so obviously it has not been an easy decision, but it is the right one for my family. The touring side of Revive can be strenuous as I am away from my wife Steph for more than 100 days a year. She is my number one in my life and my forever so it is best that I leave Revive and live a life where I'm not away so much. I feel at peace about the decision and we are excited about returning home to Australia.

I have so many great, unfortunate and funny memories from this time so I thought I would share some with you: Rich falling head first onto the stage while trying to climb back up in Kellyville NSW, blowing up my first car on our way to Queensland, playing to 5 people in the biggest field imaginable, playing to 9,000 people in Louisville, Dave leaving his belongings behind wherever we go, watching a guy dressed up as a shark who tripped on my guitar cables and fell off the stage, being an announcer at the Doves, Mike sleeping in late then not having time for a shower and stinking up our car (now bus), Dave jumping on a table that crushed my leg and took the skin off to the bone, having rolling chair races down Trafalgar Street, touring some 40+ states in the US, meeting and playing with Third Day, Mike eating dog food for lunch, winning Australias best Christian rock song award, etc...etc...etc...

I would like to thank the whole Revive team, Mike, Dave, Rich, Pip, Nic and Karen for all the great times and putting up with me when I'm cranky pants - love you guys and wish you all the best. Thanks to the Third Day boys, Mac, Tai, Mark and David. What a privilege to know and work with you. Special thanks to the Powells for all their generosity to Steph and I. Thanks to Scott and Ryan at Brickhouse for their management expertise and friendship. Thanks to Blaine and Provident for the encouragement and professional development in our career. Thanks to our church Stonebridge for the great teaching and friendship we have learnt to walk with the Lord closer than ever. Thanks to the Webers and Saunders, you are some of the best friends Steph and I have, we will miss you dearly. And thanks to you for sharing Revive and making it memorable for me.

Pray for Revive as they go forth that God would protect them and continue to bless them as they continue their ministry. Pray for me that I may continue to seek the Lord in all I do.

Thanks and take care, your bro,
Ty

We just got off the stage - such an excellent crowd.

Photos will be up tomorrow.

Here they are!

God Bless!

(As always, if you have photos from the night email them to us: band@reviveband.com)

Imagine if you could shrink yourself to the size of an ant and then crawl into a hollow golf ball... that's sort of what it's like to play at the Assembly Hall in Champaign, IL. (Mike says it's actually more like a UFO - he thinks it's a cover up for something (he watches a lot of TV))

So the stage is apparently pretty famous - Elvis has played on it. It was a real honor to play there

We had heaps of fun rocking with the crowd, and even though we were nervous (the first show of tour is pretty scary)

Here's some photos of the night. If you've got any - please send them to band@reviveband.com

So, I'm adding another entry to this blog...

Check out the video:

Hello everyone!

We need your help!

Tomorrow (Thursday) morning at 7:35am (CST) our new single is going to be played on the K-LOVE morning show!!

We met with Jon and Sherry (the morning hosts) today and they like the song. They said they'll play it tomorrow morning to find out if their listeners like it as well...

So, we need you to listen out for "Chorus of the Saints" and then say you like it (or love it!!)

God Bless!

Revive

PS - if you're in a city that doesn't get K-LOVE, you can listen online...http://www.klove.com/

We just got back from a weekend playing in Williamsburg, VA and Ridgeland, SC.
Wow, it was pretty crazy - and very cool.
You can read about it all and see the pictures at our website:

Oh yeah.

We are in Billboard magazine this week!

We just found out that we are profiled in this weeks (24th Jan) magazine as a band to 'watch out for'!

The article is called "Best Bets: Faces to watch in '09". They profiled 15 new bands of which we were one - the only Christian band in the list!

We are yet to see the actual magazine (they don't sell it in Australia - and we are here for another week), but we had someone scan it and send it through - you can see the scan if you click on the image below.
