Happy Mother's Day to all the Mama's out there!!
I have the best Mama in the world. I feel so blessed that I have her in my life. Mama answers the phone every single time I call her (ten times a day). She always has the best advice for me, always makes me laugh, she always listens to me when I'm sad, and I know she loves me no matter what. She is the one person in my life I can truly count on.

I'm watching "Sweet Dreams" right now. I've seen it a million times, but I was longing to hear Patsy Cline so I put the movie in!! Patsy and her mama were so close. It sure does make me miss Mama. I won't get to spend Mother's Day with her this year, but I will see her in a few weeks when I come back for Music Fest. I'm counting down the days!!

Yall have a great weekend and love on your Mama!!!

I'm on my flight back to LA now. I guess its going by fast...not really though. I'm kinda sad that I have to leave home so soon. But, I bought the movie "Steel Magnolias" to watch on the way back. On the way to Nashville, I watched "9 to 5". They are both the best movies! I tried not cry when watching "Steel Magnolias", but I couldn't help it. My new friends Clyde and Jeannette sitting by me didn't seem to notice I was crying.

Nashville was wonderful. It rained every day I was there, but it was the most beautiful rain I'd ever seen in my life. Gosh, I was glad to be home. It was very hard for me to leave this time. Actually, I almost changed my flight to come back tomorrow, but I have 3 different scenes this week that I am doing in my classes and have to get back for rehearsals, etc.

I kinda fell off my diet for a few days while I was home. I guess it's what you are supposed to do when you come home?! That's what I tell myself anyway!! Mama cooked a lot, we ate out once or twice maybe, and had the best time doing it all.

I also saw the movie "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past" with Mama one night at the theatre. When you see it ladies, you will LOVE it!! I have dated guys like that and it was so much fun to watch!!

Lucie was so happy every day I was home except today. She knew I was leaving again when I started to pack my suitcase and she just looked up at me with those sad eyes. It killed me. She normally sleeps with me when I come back home, but I think she was confused at first. She went from my room to Mama's room, all night. She figured it all out by the time I was leaving...:(
I love that angel so much. She and Cosmo really are the sweetest dogs in the world.  Mama also has a dog named Dixie and Lorie has a dog named Carlie. They are both so sweet too. Carlie steals some of the attention away from Lucie and Dixie because she likes to be FRONT and CENTER all the time. We let her be most of the time, but sometimes I'll pick Lucie or Dixie up and make them front and center.

Have yall seen the movies "Marley and Me" and "Seven Pounds"? We rented and watched those this weekend too. I had already seen them in LA, but I watched them again and loved them just as much the second time. I recommend them to everybody!!

What else? I had two voices lessons while I was home, met with Marcus, and had some other business meetings. My schedule really was packed....just how I like it. 

We are landing in a few minutes. When I get back, I'm going to get my car from the airport parking and go straight to pick up little Cosmo. I can't wait for his little kisses!! :)

Hey yall!

I'm home and so HAPPY to be here. I actually got back last night and had an event to go to. It was so much fun.

Now I am in line at the DMV...UGH! I've been here forever! I let my license expire while I was in LA and so I'm here getting a new one.  I am planning on NEVER letting it expire again!!

Later today I am getting my roots done at the hair salon (they need highlighting bad), and then just spending time with the family and the dogs. It's pouring rain here in Nashville. I hope the sun comes out while I'm here!!

Oh good, I am the next person to be called up. I am ready to do this eye test, take my picture, and get outta here!! :)

Hey yall!  How is everyone?  I’m doing good.  I always say “good”, but I’ve been missing home so much this week. I’ve been a little bit sad.  Mama planted her flower and vegetable garden this past weekend and I always help her do that, but I had to miss it this year. She says the tomato vines are already blooming…can you believe that?  I cant wait to see them!

 

 I am actually going back to visit this weekend and cant wait.  I get to see Mama, my sister Lorie, my dog Lucie, and some of my friends.  It will fly by fast I’m sure, but then I am coming back again for CMA Music Fest in June.  By the way, I am having another Fan Club party this year.  I won't be sending out the personal invites in the mail this year, but I will be posting banners on MySpace about it and reminding you the closer we get to the date.  So, please tell your friends and family to come…it's FREE!!   Also, I am working on getting a Facebook Music page and Twitter.  I will let yall know as soon as it’s set up! 

 

Send me any song requests for the Fan Club party and we will work them up!!!  Oh, I’m playing the Chevy stage again, doing booth signings, and some other fun things.  As soon as the dates/times are confirmed, I will let you know!  I heard that I might be doing a mechanical bull riding event during that week!! Don’t worry Mama, I’ll be careful!!

 

Cosmo is coming with me to Nashville in June.  I will try to bring him to some of my events so yall can meet him.  Lucie has a lot of fur so she may get too hot to come around!

 

I’m about to hit the bed!  Waking up at 530am for a workout!  I’ve been trying to work really hard again on my running/working out.  Hopefully, I can start fitting into all my clothes and feeling good about myself again!!   I’m ready to SING for yall again!   I was driving around in LA last night after class at 1030pm and I  heard “I Was Country When Country Wasn’t Cool” on the radio and I turned it way up!  I laughed and cried.  I laughed because I love  the song and cried because I miss singing my country music.  I love yall and am counting down the days to my fan club party!!

Myrtle Beach, SC

All of you know that I am from the great state of South Carolina.  Most of my family still lives there and I get back there a few times a year. I've been watching the news so closely hoping to hear that the Myrtle Beach area wildfires are over, but I woke up this morning to see they are still destroying parts of my beautiful childhood vacation spot.  I visited Myrtle Beach every year of my life until I started college and made many good memories there.  Please pray for the familes in the area and Pray for the fireman working on containing the fires. My home burned when I was a child. We lost everything so I know what these precious people are going through.  Remember them today, tomorrow, and every day....they need us. God Bless South Carolina.

Hey yall!

I'm on the 4 hour and 45 min flight back to LA now.

The weekend flew by so fast. I have mixed emotions right now. I'm excited to get back to work, my classes in Los Angeles, and the sunshine there,  but I sure do miss my home in Nashville. I slept so good while I was at home. You know, I guess you sleep more "sound" when you are in your own bed at home. I think I slept more this weekend than I have in 3 months!!! Lucie, my sweet little shitzu, never left my side while I was at home. She is such a gift from God. I've never felt more loved than when she looks at me with those sad eyes when I leave with my suitcase.  I know she's thinking, "Dang, you always leave me.". I just tell her that I'm trying to work hard so I can buy us a house and she can have a yard to play in one day. I like to think she understands me, but I have no idea.
Ok, enough of that talk or I'm going to cry on this flight. I'm trying to be tough because I know one day we all (Mama, my sister Lorie, and my dogs) will all be together again. I SO WISH I could support them all and just have them all travel with me everywhere!! One DAY!!

So, while I was in Nashville, I got my hair done. My roots were dark so I needed a little highlight!! Mama cooked 3 meals for me...yum!! I ran in the park with some girlfriends, and I went to the dentist. I packed as much as I could in 2.5 days.  It was really such an awesome trip. I get to see Mama again soon. She's coming to visit me in LA for her bday! I already have some fun things planned for her trip. I don't think she has ever walked on the beach on the west coast so I'm going to take her to the beach and we are going to east mexican food one night.  She and I both have a weakness for chips, salsa, and salt so we are going to splurge on probably 2-3 baskets of them!! We could make that our meal and be just fine!!

So many musicians are on my flight to LA. I recognize them from being on the road. I talked to a few of them and they are all going to play a few shows on the west coast. I must admit I am very jealous.  I am happiest playing shows and it feels like I haven't in forever.  I am ready to get back on that bus. God knows His plan for me and I trust that He wants me in LA right now.  I really do miss seeing y'all, my band, and standing on stage every night singing my songs.

As soon as I land in LA, I'm gonna get my car and then go pick up my little boyfriend Cosmo!  I've heard from the girl that has kept him for me that he had a fabulous weekend. I sure hope he did!!  He's so small compared to Lucie. I didn't realize it til I held her, but she's quite a bit bigger than he is. I know he's still a baby, but he's a tiny little guy!!

Well, I'm going to go study my scenes for class tomorrow. I just wanted to say hi to ya! Hope your weekend was as good as mine. :) Miss ya!

Hey everybody!

I'm writing this on my flight to Nashville. I discovered I had earned a flight on Southwest so I decided to go home today and visit Mama, my sister, and our three dogs!! I have a sweet girl keeping Cosmo while I'm gone. Let me tell you, I cried dropping him off last night. I love my new little buddy and will miss him for a few days but I know he's having the time of his life. I am so attached to him that it made me sad thinking about leaving him for a few days. I'm pretty sappy like that I guess and it seems like I get more sappy the older I get!!!

On this flight, I am going through demos and songs pitched to me for my new record. This is so much fun! These people next to me probably think I've lost my mind dancing in my seat with my headphones on my head!! I'm so READY to release this record!!!

Also, this man on the flight keeps asking me if I'm Shawn Johnson. He doesn't believe when I tell him I'm not her. He just asked me if I would show him how to Salsa!! Haha!! I just laughed and said "thank you for saying that honey...that makes me feel good because she's Way younger than me!"

While I'm at home, I'm going to squeeze in a dentist and hair appointment and I have to renew my driver's license. Other than that, I'm going to relax and enjoy my time with Mama. I am so excited to get there! It feels like this flight is 8 hours instead of 4!! I've tried to sleep, but can't for some reason....maybe cuz I'm too excited.

Just wanted to say hey! I'll let yall know how my time in Nashville goes!!
