Hope everyone enjoyed their summer. I am so ready for the fall. I want to show some love to NYC. I played a great free concert at Lincoln Center with my band BIGLovely and my Mom Bernice Johnson Reagon a couple of weeks ago. Many many many beautiful people showed up. it was incredible. I also want to say what an amzing time I had at The Michigan Womyn's Music Festival this year. Wonderful music ,wonderful women. I have fallen in love with a band called Von Iva- if you get a chance to see them go. Bring your dancin shoes.
I finished a record called "UNTIL WE'RE DONE" It will be released on a lable next year but, I am being a true indie artist and releasing it myself now at shows for the wonderful price of $10.00
woo hoo this brings me so much joy I can't even say. With prices going up up up I am glad to be my own label and offer some good music for not too much money.
BIGLovely is doing a show at the HIGHLINE BALLROOM Sept 25th 8pm. We go to Melbourne Australia and play at the Melbourne International Arts Festival in Oct.
Next year I will get out of NY and hopefully see some of you around the country.

Good friends I am on my way to Vancouver for a great valetines day show at the railway. Then I do 2 more shows in BC and head down the coast to Seattle, Portland and finish up in Berkeley at the legendary La Pena.
We started the year right with 4 sold out shows at Joe's Pub for the annual B Day shows. INCREDIBLE!
I am finishing my next recording it will be released in May of this year on Righteous Babe.

Took my first trip to Australia- fantastic-
The Band I did our first ever Speigletent shows- 2 fabulous sold out gigs.
We made lots of friends - drank lot's of wine and had a great time.
A Huge shout out to the Melbourne internation Arts Festival for bringing us to the other side of the world.
We also did our Orchestra thang for the Temptation Of St Anthony.
The show was well received.
Another Huge shout out to The Australian indie radio folks- who took the time to interview a musician they had never heard of but enjoyed. Fancy that -

Casting for a short film to be shot by March 4 in NYC (date depends on actor availability). Shooting will take (less than) one day. No dialogue for actors, looking for characters with good physical presence. Please do not apply if you do not meet the specs below.

Actors will receive small honorarium, transportation $$, food & a copy of the finished work.

Casting for two butch/soft-butch/agg/boi roles:

1. TRUE. must appear between the ages of 25-40. 5"7+ Relatively light skinned African-American/Latina/biracial. Must have cornrow-able hair. Have strong physical presence. Athletic build. Strong hands. Could be a [current/former] basketball player.

2. KID. 30-something. 5"5+ Dark hair. Olive complexion. Could be Middle Eastern/Italian/Jewish/Latina, etc. Also strong physical presence but not necessarily athletic. Moderate Hipster-type.

fall 2006- I had my first adventure with television. I filmed 2 scenes for the showtime hit the L word. It will be on the final episode for the 2007 season. I had a blast hanging out with the L WORD CREW they were all gracious and supportive.

BIGLovely headed to Warsaw in November. I am the music Director for the opera The Temptation of St Anthony a collaboration between Robert Wilson and Bernice Johnson Reagon. We performed in the Nation Opera house and we had 2 amazing sold out shows.

In between I sat in with Dan Zanes for his show for young folks and families at Carniegie Hall. I did some great concerts and met beautiful and kind people in Albany, Madison, North ampton, Minneapolis and my home town Nyc.

I am ready for the new year which will bring new music and more great shows.
