Hi
Some exciting news to start February.

AWARD NOMINATION
My
show, "The Headmaster's Son" has been nominated for "Best Full Show" in
the Chortle Awards. The winner is chosen by public vote, so it would be
great if you headed http://www.chortle.co.uk/n..ews/2009/02/05/8239/minchi..n_leads_chortle_nomination..s">here
and voted for me. You have to "click here to vote" about 12 lines down
in the text. It would be nice to have something to add to my
Gamesmaster Golden Joystick and Daily Telegraph Worst Comedy Experience
2005 awards.
Some guy called Stewart Lee is also up for best DVD.

HEADMASTER'S SON
Come
and see my award nominated show on tour. It starts at the Leicester
Square Theatre in London (10 nights, last two weeks of Feb - BOOK NOW)
http://www.richardherring...com/headmaster/">
Check here for details of all dates. Please spread the word
about this tour. I think it's going to be a humdinger. Don't leave it
til the last minute, a few of the venues are already almost sold out.

TWITTER
I am not on http://twitter.com/">
Twitter, so if my daily blog is not enough for you, then you
can find out what I'm up to at regular intervals in 140 character
bursts if you follow me. Search for Herring1967 - that's me.

HIGH TACKLE
On
Monday I am taking part in a TV quiz show about rugby for BBC Wales,
even though I don't know anything about rubgy. And hate it. They told
me it wasn't really about rugby, but it is. I think it might only be on
BBC Wales and don't know when it will be broadcast.

RADIO
I
recently recorded a fun show called "Teenage Diaries" for Radio 4. I
don't know when it is broadcast either, but keep your eyes open for it.
Or maybe your ears.

DVDs and BOOK
All my DVDs and my book, "Bye Bye Balham" are all available from http://www.gofasterstripe...com/">Go
Faster Stripe. Books are selling well and once they've all
gone that's it. And "Oh Flip, I'm 40" contains an unbelievable amount
of extras including an exclusive Collings and Herrin video podcast!

PODCAST
The Collings and Herrin podcast has just celebrated its first birthday - http://www.comedy.org.uk/p..odcasts/collingsherrin/"> Click here to hear it in all its bumming and blasphemy obsessed glory. Or subscribe on iTunes.

Hope to see you at one of the tour shows!

Go FASTER STRIPE
http://www.gofasterstripe.com/
My new DVD "Oh Flip, I'm 40" is now back in stock after the first print run sold out in double quick time. So don't miss out. Buy it now. It's a double disc with a ridiculous amount of extras and it's only 15 (you can also buy the programme for the show and every time you do one pound will be given to SCOPE - the other pound pays for the postage).
My book "Bye Bye Balham" is still available - though it's selling well and we're not planning another print run, so don't put it off. It's the first six months of Warming Up, plus lots of bonus material about what was going on behind the scenes. It is good.
All my other DVDs and some posters are also available. I think we're also planning a very limited run of some silly T shirts, but will let you know about that.

TV
I think the Tonight show in which I attempt to do a gig without swearing and a gig with extra swearing is on this Friday at 8pm on ITV. To be honest it was a bit of a daft experiment and I think they will try and skew it so it fits into their view. But swearing is really funny and I will continue to do it. You mo fos.

RETRO DVD and CD
Apparently a DVD of either the first series or all of Time Gentlemen Please (which I wrote and appeared in as a bean faced postman) is coming out in March. I haven't been told anything about it.
The entire unedited CD of "On the Hour" has also been released by Warp records. You can get that here- http://owler.warp.net/index.php?page=release_details&releaseid=18187 - for example.

RADIO
I am recording a radio show next week where I will be discussing my teenage diaries. I don't know when it goes out or on what channel. Er... I'll try to find out for you.

PODCAST
The podcast is heading towards both its first anniversary and its 50th edition. You can download it from http://www.comedy.org.uk/podcasts/collingsherrin/ or from iTunes. It's going really well. If you haven't heard it yet, then start at the beginning. It should only take you 2 solid days of listening to catch up.
I highly recommend the Adam and Joe podcasts as well. They are better than ours.

EDINBURGH
Starting to work out if I am doing this and what I am doing. I think Andrew and me might do a daily podcast show for part of the run and I am also planning on doing a new show (or maybe a reworked Christ on a Bike). My working title is "Hitler Moustache" but this might change.

BOOK
I am writing a book for Ebury about being immature, though the title isn't settled on yet. It will be available in many months time.

Hope all is well with you. And hope to see you on the tour.

Cheers
Rich

Hello everyone,

Exciting news and all just in time for Christmas.
This week, the good folks at Go Faster Stripe - are releasing my latest DVD, "Oh Flip, I'm 40" - Lookee here
It's got a bonus disc including the first and so far only Collings and Herrin video podcast, a documentary about the fight I had in Liverpool, a short film I appeared in and footage of me dealing with a stupid heckler. It's £15 + p and p. You can buy the show programme for £2 at the same time - £1 covers the extra post and packing and £1 goes to SCOPE, the brilliant charity that aims to get equal rights for people with disabilities.

But that's not all. We've also put together the first six or so months of Warming Up in handy book form. It's got pretty much all the entries from the website, plus loads of bonus info, stories I was too embarrassed to tell at the time and what I was up to behind the scenes.Lookee here
I am really pleased with the way it has turned out. If the book sells well enough then I will put together further volumes. It's a limited print run so don't leave it too late. It's £10 plus p and p.

If you buy both products before close of play this Friday then you will be entered in a draw and whoever's name is drawn out of the computer based hat will win the actual "Free Hot Dog" T-shirt that I used in the 40 show!

Both items are the perfect Christmas gift for EVERYONE. I can't think of anyone who wouldn't love both things.

Go Faster Stripe also have DVDs from some of the most exciting comedians in the country, so take a good look round the site and please support this brilliant company.

Have a very happy Christmas or similar winter festival and let me know what you think of the DVD and book if you get them!

Love from
Richard Herring

I am doing an extra show of The Headmaster's Son on Wednesday 20th August at 7.30pm at the Whitebelly in the Underbelly "due to popular demand" - though really because I do not want to be bothered with a day off so late in the run. This show has been selling out for most of the run, but due to little to no publicity there are lots of tickets left for this one. So spread the word or come along. If you have an Underbelly pass you are pretty much guaranteed a seat!
I think the show after me has the night off which means I will be able to go a little slower and add in some other bits, so it should be a fun night. Spread the word to anyone you think might be interested.

Tickets also available for all remaining dates, but almost sold out on Saturday and selling well all other days
Buy tickets on line here

Phone - 0844 545 8252

It's a 5 x 5 star review show!

Hello
Just a quickie to let you know that I have organised a special deal and an opportunity to buy tickets before the general public for the autumn run at the Lyric Theatre in Hammersmith

Tickets are £15 per gig or £10 per gig if you sit in the Upper Circle - or buy tickets for all three gigs and get the best seats for just £30 total (3 for 2).

The line ups are really good and there has already been a lot of interest in the November gig so I advise you to book AS SOON AS POSSIBLE to avoid disappointment. Stewart Lee will be roadtesting different material every month for his forthcoming BBC show "Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle".

The gigs are all hosted by me, plus:

Sun 21st September - Robert Newman, Stewart Lee and Dan Antopolski.

Sun 28 October - SPECIAL SURPRISE HEADLINER WHO WE CAN'T NAME YET, BUT WHO IS BRILLIANT, Stewart Lee, Ivan Brackenbury and Wilson Dixon

Sun 16 November - TMWRNJ Reunion Special - Many of the cast of the cult BBC 2 show get together for the first time on stage for almost 10 years. Please be aware that most of these people will be doing their current acts rather than material or characters from the show - including Stewart Lee, Richard Thomas, Paul Putner, Emma Kennedy and Trevor Lock. Hopefully Kevin Eldon will also show up, though he hasn't got back to me yet. The evening will be headlined by a short 10 minute set from defunct double act LEE AND HERRING. This is the kind of gig that only comes along once in a blue moon and will sell out first, so BOOK NOW!

In fact take advantage of the one off 3 for 2 offer for Lee and Herring fans only and come to all three.
Tickets are only available to fans in the know for the next week, so please ring the Lyric on 0871 22 117 29 and quote "Moon on a Stick" to take advantage of this unique opportunity.

There will be another newsletter soon with all my other news, but knew you'd want to know about this as soon as possible.
Hope to see you at the gigs!
Don't miss out.

Hi
Hope you're having a good mid April. Just a couple of things (maybe three) to tell you about.

1) EDINBURGH PROGRAMME - As usual I am giving you the chance to get your name in my latest Edinburgh Fringe programme, receive a free limited edition of the programme and help raise money for SCOPE. All you have to do is visit My just giving page and donate at least £12.50 and you will get all of this, plus the chance to win some cool spot prizes. The more you donate, the bigger your name will be in the programme and the person who donates the most will win the "How Much is Too Much" T shirt as worn in the "Oh F***, I'm 40" show. Please remember to email me your postal address to Herring1967@googlemail.com once you have donated. Last year's programme raise over £10,000 for SCOPE. Be nice to do even better this year. And if you have something to promote then there is also advertising space available. E mail me for rates.

2) OLD EDINBURGH POSTERS - You can now buy original posters from three of my previous shows "The Twelve Tasks of Hercules Terrace", "Talking C*ck" and "Someone Likes Yoghurt" at The Go Faster website
These are £5 each or all three for £10 (including delivery in a nice cardboard tube). While you're there why not pick up my three DVDs if you haven't got them already!

3) LYRIC COMEDY NIGHTS - the line ups for all three Lyric, Hammersmith shows are now all sorted out and the first one is on Sunday. I am delighted to say that Russell Howard will be headlining on the 18th May. He rocks. You can see all details at The Lyric website
Book now.

There are your, as it turns out, three things. And while I think about it here is a bonus number 4

4) There's a funny video of me having to deal with a heckler on youtube. You can see it here and there's a slightly longer version here

I am going now before I think of something else
