New Music: Before The Escape

This weekend saw Before The Escape hitting up the Screamadelica Studios in Cardiff Bay to record their first two tracks as the new band.  For those who don’t know Before The Escape are formed from the ashes of Corrupt Contrabanned.  But don’t let that fool you into thinking you know what Before The Escape are going to sound like.  Far from it in fact.  This is a new band, with a new direction, a new lust for music and a brand new sound.

Before The Escape are destined for big things for sure so check out the two brand new tracks we did over the weekend and make sure that you can be one of the people that heard these guys before anyone else.  Keep your eyes peeled two because four more songs will be coming up here in the new year.  Until then put your comments here and check the guys out on MYSPACE.

Myspace Design: Sasha Zall

Brand new spanking Myspace page design and the first implementation of one of our new look Myspace pages with 100% width header images.  We think you will agree, as Sasha did that these new look Myspaces are a “killer” worse than Adamski LOL.

Sasha’s profile is inspired by his love for his home city of Los Angeles and as part of the design we did the following:

• Brand new, 100% width header image that incorporates right into the Myspace look and feel.
• Custom menus as part of the header including Social networking links
• Slideshow and custom header images
• Networking apps
• Animated GIF promote banner

Myspace Design: Hailey Hoff

Our latest Myspace page design saw us working with the Seattle, Washington based pop songstress Hailey Hoff.  Hailey wanted a really girly, Gossip Girl inspired myspace that would reflect her love of all things fashion.

Our design involved a custom background, header image with contact buttons, slideshow, custom contact box, headers and a bunch of various widgets to help her fans connect and stay in touch with her.  As part of the header image we also designed Hailey a logo and totally re-touched and colorized her picture to make it completely hi-end looking.  We even put together a banner to allow fans to copy and paste and upt it on their web pages and/or Myspaces.

New Song: Bleed Electric - Boost Your 1's

Another day, another Bleed Electric session and another brand new song.  “Boost Your 1’s” came together quickly and was written, recorded, produced, mixed and mastered in one studio session.  It is worth noting that in this song everything used sound wise is from the ZX Spectrum and / or Commodore 64 and no new sounds were added to it at all.   This in itself transported us back to our youth and playing video games on said systems and the content about 1Up was born, 1UPs was the term used for an extra life in these games.

The lyrical content then took it all a step further and is discussing how Bleed Electric as a band are one up and always one step ahead of their competition from a sound perspective and telling the haters out there that they really don;t care and you just don’t get Bleed Electric’s music and arent on the same level!  The song also has lots of video game references and is probably our second most Hip-Hop oriented track to date.  Really digging on this guys so looking forward to finding out what you guys think.

New Song: Clinigol - Swigod

What happens when my two favourite Welsh Language pop artists combine and make a song together?  Well a bloody good slice of Welsh Language pop is the answer.  Clinigol have been back at Screamadelica working on their new EP which will be out soon and Swigod is the main single from this EP.

Recorded, Produced, Mixed and Mastered by Chris “MUG5″ Maguire, “Swigod” sees El Parisa taking vocal duties on this song whilst Cinigol provide their usual fusion of Pop and Electro to full force.  “Swigod” is a three minute slice of pop good ness that will put anyone in a great mood and I couldn’t be happier to have been involved with this collaboration.

I am sure you will all love this track as much as we do and are really looking forward to your comments.

New Song: Angharad Bizby - Doleg Bod Dydd Da Ti

Just finished up the final mix and master on my first work with Welsh songstress Angharad Bizby.  What was unique about this project that it is a Welsh Language Christmas Song and as such the whole idea was to get the Christmas vibe up on the track as much as possible with the secondary being to make sure that contemporary Pop edge comes through.  And boy did we succeed!

This is an awesome slice of Welsh Language Christmas Pop fun and we are really happy with the result.  Although the backing track was actually recorded in Nashville, a full mix was done on the multitracks to take the country edge off it allowing us to shine it over with baubles and an Xmas tree!  The vocals were recorded here at Screamadelica and everything was Produced, Mixed and Mastered by Chris “MUG5″ Maguire who is happy to have lost his Christmas song virginity in such a nice way!

New Myspace Design: Jessica Leigh

Just finshed up our newest Myspace page design and it’s a stonker!  It is for up and coming US country pop singer Jessica Leigh and the inspiration for the design came from the “American Sweetheart” look from the 50s.  Very patriotic!  The idea all stemmed from one of the photos she had of her in a retro car.  So I took that, colourized it add whimisical flowers like Jessica loved and wanted and added a nice flower in her hair which is very NOW.

I then took a US flag and made it look like it was aged and from the 50s and added even more whimsical flowering to that.  The rest of the site was laid out simply but effectively and included a custom contact, bio, guestbook and demand me.  Jessica loves the Myspace and why not check it out for yourself too and see if you love it too!

New TV Placement: Clinigol - Am Wastraff

I am pleased to showcase the video performance on ITV’s The Wales Show of “Am Wastraff” (What a Waste) by Clinigol and actress Siwan Morris.  Taken from Clinigol’s debut album “Melys” (Sweet) which is available on iTunes now!
Why do we care?  Chris “MUG5″ Maguire recorded, produced, mixed and mastered the song.  Chris was also responsible for many of the additional sounds, beats and samples that you here in the revamped version you hear here.  Enjoy and looking forward to your comments.

We just finished off a DIV overlay and completely custom Myspace page for US based Singing Audition.

The site is a complete DIV overlay and it only utilizes the ADD and MSG features of Myspace, the rest is all completely customized and posted on top of the DIV.  The pink colouring is used to draw girls towards the Myspace and this is why there is also a girl used on the imagery.

The page then drops off to look like a wall with a piece of paper on it showcasing all the up and coming singing auditions that are available which is an automatic overflowed div that will only add scrollbars when it needs them.  Subtly around the wall then is a womans mouth but most people probably won’t even notice that.
