The B-52's influence cuts a wide path through much of so-called 'modern rock' — from the lo-fi efforts of nouveau garage bands to the retro-hip of ultra-lounge, to the very core of dance music itself. The B-52's created a unique lexicon of songs, styles, phrases and images which would set the standard for the development of the alternative music scene as we know it today. This legacy reaches well into this millennium, with the band currently recording a new album, tentatively scheduled for early 2008, and Rolling Stone recently commenting:

"These days, bands from the Strokes to Yeah Yeah Yeahs hang out at the crossroads between punk rock and New Wave; back in 1979, the B-52's built that intersection."

The 'Wild Planet 2007 Remix EP' is second in a series of classic B-52's albums revisited by hot new boutique label Planet Clique, featuring remixes of key tracks taken from the seminal 1980 album, A&R'd by award-winning producers and remixers MHC (Chris Smith & Philip Larsen).

The previous green vinyl 'Whammy! 2005 Remix EP' saw worldwide acclaim from DJs, press and radio alike, with Riton's storming 'Trism' remix enjoying particular attention at Space in Ibiza, as well as in clubs such as Nag Nag Nag & Trash. The EP also picked up a host of press in DJ Magazine, Mixmag, M8, NME etc. The follow up 'Mesopotamia Remixes 2006' saw equally acclaimed remixes from Rob Mello, Majortweaks and MHC.

This time around a wider package of remixes guarantees a mix for most. Every time unmistakably The B-52's, but with a fresh twist for the new and old ears and dancefloors alike.

Wild Planet 2007 Remix EP - The Players:

S-Express : Remixing 'Quiche Lorraine'

S-Express (aka Mark Moore and Kinky Roland) return in late 2007 with their first single in 15 years, entitled 'Stupid Little Girls'. This is their first remix under the S-Express moniker. Mark Moore is a huge fan of The B-52's and the band often features in his DJs sets around the world, including leading London electro club Electrogogo.

The Grid : Remixing 'Private Idaho'

The Grid are Dave Ball and Richard Norris. As The Grid, they had numerous hit singles and albums in the early 90's, including 'Swamp Thing' and 'Floatation', and have recently reformed for a brand new album 'Doppelganger' on the seminal Some Bizzare label, which will be released in early 2008. Dave Ball is also half of 25 million-selling pioneering electro legends Soft Cell, while Richard Norris is an acclaimed journalist and writer.

SuperJupiter : Remixing 'Give Me Back My Man'

Signed to Norwegian label Waterfall and Planet Clique in the UK, SuperJupiter release their debut album in 2008, featuring the monster club hit 'You Know'.

Formatic : Remixing 'Dirty Back Road'

Another Planet Clique signing, Formatic turn out a moody electro workout on this key album track. Formatic's recent single 'State Of Play' is a taster from their upcoming debut album, released early 2008.
