Who is in the band (what they play and ages)?
Currently the members of In Sight Of June (ISJ) are:
Eric "E-Rock" - 24 – Vocals / Guitar
Todd "T-Dogg"- 21 – Guitar / Vocals
Matt – 22 - Drums / Percussion
Terry – 23 - Bass
How the band formed?
One day back in the fall of 1994, Todd and Eric were watching BUSH play a concert on TV… Todd asked Eric if he had ever thought about starting to play an instrument and start a band. Eric had thought of the idea before as well, but never took action with it. So once the discussed it, the decided it would be a lot of fun, so the both bought their first guitars in Dec. 1994 and taught themselves to play.
A long time friend, Gary, had played the drums since he was a child and the following summer (1995) they started jamming together and formed the band DAY 163.
What do you think about the current scene?
Eric – "Being in the music scene in PA now for 10 years, I must say that it is really rough. There are some really amazing bands out there, but people just don't wanna' pay $5.00 to see any of them, it's really sad…"
Terry – "There are a lot of good bands that can't find any place to play… it sucks…"
What are your future plans?
Well, all of the guys in ISJ would love to go national with our music. We dream BIG!
Do you have a website?
Yes, we have several actually…

Do you have a CD and where can people get it?
We have a few CDs, and several demos, which people can pick up at any of our shows, as well as at SOUNDTRACK (in Uniontown, PA), and ATKINS MUSIC (in Connellsville, PA)
What would you call your music style?
Eric – "We're a rock band, influenced by a wide variety of music… we're rock, and emo, and punk, and well, you just should check us out and find out…"
Terry – "Each person can get a different idea of what we're about. Music is in the ear of the beholder."
How would you describe ISJ?
Todd – "In Sight of June is an emotionally charged rollercoaster ride of anger and depression. Our songs are powered by loss and relationships."
How do you get the crowd involved?
We try to have fun. We try to put on our best show each time we play. We jump around and dance at times during the songs, and we'll talk to the crowd before our set, between songs, and after we're done playing. We enjoy meeting the people that come out to see us…
What makes you different from other local bands?
Well, we have a large variety of music. We play cover songs, but we also write a lot of our own music and play mostly our original songs. I think some bands are afraid to do that because a lot of people are unwilling to listen to new bands. They only want to hear songs that they already know…
Plus I've met some people in bands who don't really care about the people who came out to the show… they play to get paid and that's it. Money is nice, but ISJ loves meeting the people who stopped out, and we appreciate everything everyone does for us…
Can someone listen to your music online?
YES, for free!

How would you describe each other?
Eric and Todd are the 2 serious guys, while Terry and Matt are the 2 clowns of the band.
Tell me a little about your CD?
Well, we have a few CDs that are already finished… but we're going to be releasing a new CD this summer with some of our new songs that we've written in the last year. It's a little different from our last CDs. We're hoping our fans still love it!
What are your influences?
In Sight Of June has been influenced by a wide variety of bands including (but not limited to)... The Ataris, Bush, Goldfinger, Green Day, MxPx, Rancid, Taking Back Sunday, Thursday, and there are many others...
What are your goals for the band?
We'd love to get signed to a label, and play music for our career. Music is a huge part of all of our lives.
What do you hope will happen for you guys as a band in the next year?
We want to play more shows than we ever have, and next year we want to play more shows than that. We're hoping to release our next CD this year. We hope to reach more people with our music, grow as a band, and have our fan base grow.
I remember you guys playing at cd warehouse like 3-4 years ago. Do you think the scene has changed since then? Do you think you guys have changed since then? How?
Well, in the last 3 years a lot of places stopped allowing bands to play or they closed. I think the local scene has worsened over the last 3 years, and it's really a sad situation. I mean, you have to travel to Pittsburgh to find places to play… and there use to be a few places all over the map.
As a band, we've changed dramatically. DAY 163 started out as a pop-punk band, but then we changed half of the members, got our new name, IN SIGHT OF JUNE, matured and grew as musicians, and developed a new sound.
Why do you play in a band?
Eric – "I couldn't imagine my life without music. Without local bands, what would the next generation be in for? A life of silence? We can't allow that to happen… lol…"
How did you get your name?
Our grandmother suffered a stroke, which left her paralyzed and bed-ridden for 8 years. We wanted to name the band after her… her name was June. We sought for her to come back to us for so long, but then she passed away… in the appropriate month of June. So in June 2003, we became known as In Sight of June…
What do you want to be known for (band wise)?
Eric – "If nothing else, we want to be known as nice guys who can rock out and play some kick ass music…"
What do you like best about being in a band?
Terry – "The hot ladies… lol…"
