Earl was invited to be a part of Acousticlaw Records first ever cover throwdown. Seven artists, throwing down their own separate versions of "Witchcraft" by Frank Sinatra. To download the entire album for free or for more info on the throwdown, click the link above.

Mike has officially resigned. Things were becoming a little more involved than he wanted, I guess. Don't really know what his plans are except continuing with teaching lessons and possibly doing some gospel work, but we wish him the best. Honestly though, I expect we'll probably cross paths again in the future...at least I hope so.
Ryan and I are going to continue as a duo for the time being...probably taking a much more electronic approach, but we'll see. You never know with these things, we could also start playing bluegrass or something.
I wish you all a great summer. We're planning on releasing something this Fall, but probably no shows (at least not many) until then. We'll keep you posted.

New songs posted. They're just recordings of last night's rehearsal, but it might give you a better idea of where we're potentially heading. Thanks to Bobby for helping us track and to Todd for giving us a deadline. Next show: Friday, January 23 at The Red & The Black supporting Meow vs. Meow.

So I guess it's about time to have another artistic breakdown and go off re-inventing ourselves again. Anyone who caught us at Mike's b-day party (with fresh face guitar/noise dude, Luke Entelis) can attest to this "new direction." Whether this sticks or we head off course towards something else with shiny, flashy lights is yet to be seen.
It does, however, appear that we're going to have some time in January to get some recordings of this stuff. Given the fact that our old friend Todd Rowen (Meow vs Meow) invited us to support them at their CD Release [The Red & The Black, January 23rd], we now have a deadline to meet...which seems to be the only we we get shit done.

Mike Damron. Help us inaugurate the occasion at the Red and the Black on Monday, June 30th. Doors at 830, show at 9.
$8 - I know...it's a lot to throw down for a band you've never heard before. Think of it more as you being our boss and paying us each $2.66/hour.
On that note, it's probably only fair to mention that while we do have songs posted up here on myspace we won't be playing any of them. And really, I don't know what the fuck we're going to play. Seriously.

...and some old ones left to fill. VJ quit, citing differences in...well everything. Basically, he sees making music more as an outlet for creative energy rather than a lifestyle. I think we scared him. We wish him the best in all his post-graduate studies and creating algorithms/heuristics that are computationally efficient on both serial and parallel computers that can be used to analyze the primary, secondary, and tertiary structures of DNA, RNA, and protein sequences - or whatever it is he does for money.
So for now, these boots are made for programming and that's just what they'll do...at least until a drummer falls into our lap or we start feeling anxious again and schedule more shows we can't quite roster. Either way, I'm looking forward to having some time in January to write, without the burden of physics making things seem so real.
