Hello friends, As I've mentioned a few times before, Matthew has provided the score for a new movie called Some Days Are Better Than Others. The trailer for the movie is now online, and it features one of the many new songs Matthew has provided for the film. Watch it here: http://www.somedaysthemovie.com/pages/trailer.php Or if you'd rather not click away, here it is in glorious embedded mode: Some Days are Better than Others (trailer) from matt mccormick on Vimeo. Looks like a beautifully tragic movie. I for one cannot wait to see it. Tell your friends, -Andy

Hello friends, There are a few bits of news that have been posted over at Matthew's site that I'd like to share with you all: well. - it seems time for a new entry here
how time has gotten away...~~~~
but there are a few important things to report on
---
FIRST. - I have completed an original soundtrack for a film
it is titled - Some Days Are Better Than Otherswritten and directed by Mr. Matt McCormick of Portland, Oregonand starring James Mercer, Carrie Brownstein, Renee Roman Nose, and David Wodehouse
- i believe the film is set for release this fall
--scoring this project over the winter and spring was nothing short of wonderful
i couldn't have wished for a better director to be working side by side with
-more information will be released as it becomes available
---
SECOND. - Since completion of the film score work
i have been working on a new full length album
i really don't know what to say about it...
...don't want to give away anything yet
i am truly exhilarated
--
we are looking, roughly, at a release at the beginning of the new year
my apologies for such delays
i know it's been a little while now
--
thank you everyone - so very much
love always,
-matthew
----------------------
Some especially exciting news. Try and see the movie when it's released, and the wait for the new album might seem far off, but it will more than definitely be worth it.
Well wishes and love from under a hot Texas sun,
-Andy

Hello friends, There's not a whole lot to report news-wise, but I just wanted to thank everyone who has purchased one of the Life Through Bombardment box sets. They are truly a labor of love from everyone involved. As of now, there are about 100 or more of these left from Temporary Residence, so if you haven't had the chance to pick one up yet, I would really recommend doing so soon. As for shows, there isn't too much on the horizon besides the two listed here. There's no information on the Portland show listed yet, but the show in Hollywood will be with Explosions In the Sky. They are celebrating their tenth year playing music together by playing a few select shows in various places. Come celebrate with us. Temporary Residence have released some mighty fine albums in the past couple of months as well. If you're looking for some new records to spin while tailgating at the Yankees game, head over to TRL to check out some wonderful new music from Bellini, Mono, and Young Widows. http://temporaryresidence.com/I also need to send out a special get well soon message for Jeremy of Young Widows. He's suffered a broken hand, and because of this the band has had to cancel their recently planned west coast tour. I wish you a speedy recovery and hope to see you out on the road soon. Thank you all for caring. I wish each and every one of you a great Summer. All the best, -Andy

Current mood:Holy shi--
Hello friends, As few of you may already know, Temporary Residence has announced the bit of news that all us Eluvium vinyl freaks have been waiting to hear. Here's the official word: We're not sure how to build up to this, so we're just gonna spit it out: Eluvium 7xLP box set. It's coming. We've been working on this for nearly two years (no joke), and it will FINALLY be available for pre-order soon! Packaged in a hardbound cloth-cover book, the set will include every Eluvium album and EP on vinyl for the very first time ever! Pressed on 100% virgin black vinyl, and bursting at the seams with exquisite new artwork, the set will also include a fold-out poster and removable library card. Oft-rumored since early last year, this is easily the most laborious and expensive production we've ever worked on. And it's been worth every minute and ever dime! Strictly limited to 1,000 copies, this will be available October 1 for pre-order, and will be priced at around $100 plus shipping. The perfect Christmas gift? We think so! It's finally official. We'll all be holding this magnificent piece of work in our hands soon. Okay, maybe not all of us since there's only 1000 of them, and at least 10,000 of us. One in ten will have it at least. Do NOT snooze on this, -Andy PS Go over to Temporary Residence to check out the other great stuff that's up for order. The new Grails record is being released as well. Based on the track that's up on their myspace page, it should be nothing short of brutal. PPS NOW AVAILABLE for order! ! ! Order now! This beautiful package is nearly here. Secure yours before they're gone!

The release of Miniatures is fast approaching. Gaarden Records is nearly ready to share this record with all of us. Here's a quick overview from the label to give those who might've missed out a refresher: Nine short saturnian interludes make up the first proper vinyl release by the sound artist who has intrigued your collapsed antenna many times before as Eluvium, Matthew Robert Cooper. Atmospheric chamber music from the cardboard box vortex. Miniatures moves from swirling spatial feedback manipulations to stripped down minimal piano pieces and back while you watch from the curbside the ghostly parade. Limited to 2,000 copies with the first 1,000 on colored vinyl.
You can all preview one of the tracks from this on the profile already, but you can also listen to another track courtesy of Pitchfork (oooh, fancy): Pitchfork StreamAccording to the article we can expect to order this on August 5th. I'm as excited for it as anyone else. Good to know we can always count on Mr. Cooper for continuous hit music. Psyched like crazy, -Andy PS Available now! Here's the link: Gaarden Records

Hello once again friends, I'd like to officially post about another Eluvium-related project. The crazy cool dudes over at Genghis Tron have announced a huge remix project consisting of five different 12" records on five different record labels (Temporary Residence Ltd., Lovepump United, Relapse Records, Anticon Records, and Crucial Blast). Each record will consist of remixes from their latest album, Board Up the House. These will be limited to 1000 copies on that color vinyl that the kids love so much. Artwork by Board Up the House cover artist Jon Beasley. If you haven't seen the work he did for the album, then you are truly missing out. It's like spin art from hell. Which we all know is where the sickest spin art comes from. Some of the artists involved are Black Moth Super Rainbow, Ulver, Dntel, Telefon Tel Aviv, Steve Moore (Zombi), Justin Broadrick (Jesu), Danny Lohner, Rob Crow, Odd Nosdam, Circle, Tim Hecker, and you guessed it, Eluvium. The first remix record of the series will be released by everyone's best friend, Temporary Residence. It will hold the mixes from Zombi, Jesu, Rob Crow, and Eluvium. Pre-orders for this start on July 1st through TRL's website: Temporary Residence LimitedDo not miss out on this. And if you've never heard of Genghis Tron before, cmon, seriously, what are you waiting for? There's no excuse anymore. Tune in and rock the hell out with the rest of us. Horns up, -Andy PS

Hey guys, I know I've mentioned this quite a few times through bulletins, but I'd just like to make it quasi-permanent and post this information in the blog. Matthew's side project, Concert Silence, has released an album via their website. It is available for free download. If you're a fan of ambient waves of sonic brilliance, then download this now: Concert SilenceClick the "all" button to grab it all in a convenient .zip file. Or just get 'em one by one. Radiohead aint got shit on Matthew Cooper. Keep on keeping on, y'all. -Andy Update: This is no longer available for free download. Expect a physical release for this in the very near future. Fear not snoozers, you haven't lost just yet.

Dates will be up immediately, with all the specific information as soon as it's available. Matthew was also kind enough to link this profile in the Links section. See people? This is about as official as fan sites get without it getting too creepy. I hope all of you have downloaded and fallen in love with the unreleased song "etude de multiples" found in the Sounds section of the website. With any luck, I'll have the song up on the profile soon for your adding pleasure. That's all for now. I hope your Summers have been memorable. Come back soon, we love having you around. ~Andy PS: If you're looking for a new band to fall in love with, please check out the group I'm listening to below.
