New photo albums from two very recent shows. Bryan Peek of Ashville - shout out to 'em - was at our Black Mountain, NC, show at the town pump and took a pile of pix posted here. Tonight musicians and fans all over the world, in the realm of blues and beyond, are mourning the loss of the great Koko Taylor, one of the last survivors of the original electric era of Chicago blues. She was not only a great musician with one of the most powerful voices to grace a microphone, but a beautiful human being with a big generous heart. I was very happy to see Koko this May at the Blues Music Awards in Memphis, where she looked terrific in an elegantly tailored orange suit and sang with power, energy and spirit. If this was her final performance, it was a magnificent one, and she will long be remembered and treasured. Love to you Koko.
