With the new single, The Infinites,
primed for release 22.12.09
we thought you might like some advance news
on the remixes that will be available.

In addition to the album version,
there will be a whole heap of retakes,
care of Extrawelt, Kwesachu,
Jake One, Atom TM and Mark E...
plus a special Bomb the Bass remix.

The single, released through !K7,
will be exclusively available
for the first four weeks through Beatport,
after which you’ll be able to pick it up
from all other primary online stores.

At present, the video is doing the final round of post-production,
so watch this space; plus, we’ll be getting some mixes
up on the player soon enough.

As previously mentioned,
The Infinites will be the first of four
Bomb the Bass singles released one a month
between now and March 2010
- after which the new album will be released.

Entitled Back To Light, 
the long-player will feature ten new tracks,
with contributions from Paul Conboy, Gui Boratto
(continuing the relationship initiated
with Gui's sterling Black River single remix),
New Yorker Kelley Polar, Richard Davis,
The Battle of Land and Sea,
and Depeche Mode’s Martin Gore.

As of this week, Amazon and Play
already have the album up on their sites,
available to pre-order on either CD or vinyl.

brand new BTB single in december / plus loads more!

You know what they say:
no new Bomb the Bass material,
then four singles come along all at once.
Well, almost.

December sees the start of !K7’s release schedule
for the new material:
four singles, one a month for four months,
starting with The Infinites in a few short weeks
(date to be confirmed).

Arriving as downloads, there will also be some interesting remixes,
dedicated artwork for each single, videos;
plus, plenty of news about the forthcoming album,
which is scheduled for Spring 2010.
And naturally, some live shows coming to a city near you.

We’ll be keeping you up to date on all developments,
and putting out some exclusive features here on Myspace.

Fan review / Koko London / 07.02.09

その夜のロンドンは気象予報で零度以下の寒さになると予想されていた。それにも関わらずライブ会場のKOKOは多くの人で溢れかえって満員だった。ロンドンのライブシーンの中心地であるカムデン・タウンに位置し、オープン以来100年近い歴史を誇る建築物は重要建築物（グレード2）に指定されていて、3階まである半円形の客席からステージを見下ろすオペラの劇場のような造りになっている。また、多くの著名ミュージシャンがライブを行ってきた事でも知られている。

会場に入るとステージとフロアの間を遮るように巨大スクリーンがかけられていた。このスクリーンにプロジェクタからのVJ映像が映し出され、出演者はその向こう側でパフォーマンスをするのだが、透けているために観客は映像越しに出演者の姿を見る事が可能という、非常に刺激的でユニークな3次元的映像体験が出来る仕掛けだ。

今回のイベントはVJのパイオニア的な存在としても知られるAVユニットHexstaticのヨーロッパライブにBomb The Bassがスペシャルゲストとして出演したもので、VJを効果的かつステージ上の彼ら自身に当てる照明としての機能も持たせてきたBomb The Bassのライブにとっても、映像と音とのコラボレーションに最高のステージセッティングだったように思えた。



深夜1時半をまわったころだろうか、ステージ上にティム・シムノンの姿が確認出来たとほぼ同時に、おもむろにそして自然にライブが始まった。ステージ前で観たかったがダンスフロアは既に一杯でスペースが無いので二階席から観た。

オープニング曲は最新アルバムのFuture Chaosから"Burn The Bunker"。スクリーンにBTBロゴが映し出され歓声が上がりフロアが揺れ始めた。
ステージには向かって左から順にティム、
ボーカルのポール・コンボイ(Paul Conboy),
そしてVJのヴァレリオ・スポレティニ(Valerio Spoletini)が並んでいる。

彼らの前には3台のAppleノートと各種コントローラがそれぞれ設置されていた。ティムは各トラックのオンオフや音量、エフェクトの配分などをポールのボーカルに合わせて自由自在にコントローラーを使って操りながら、リアルタイムに演奏に反映させていく。それによってプログラムされたシーケンスをただプレイバックするのとは違い、演奏者も観客もリアルタイムに変化するサウンドと映像に没入し酔いしれる事が出来る。
まさにライブだ。

続いてクールで聴き覚えのあるベースラインと共に月の映像がスクリーンに映る。この時点で最新アルバムに惚れ込んでいるファンは心が弾んだに違いない。ポールの魅力的なボーカルがそれが勘違いで無かった事を教えてくれる。最初のシングル"So Special"であるという事を。観客は興奮して指笛を鳴らしている。
この曲はこの夜のハイライトのひとつだった。

他にもハイライトとして、最も良く知られた楽曲のうちのひとつ、1994 年にリリースされた"Bug Powder Dust"、エッジの効いたキックとスアが際立つ"Clear Cut"が演奏され、往年のファンにとってもたまらない選曲が嬉しかった。他にも最新アルバムから"Butterfingers" が演奏され、
このアルバムから聴き始めた新しいファンをも十分楽し
せてくれた事だろう。

たが、今回何といっても驚きだったのが、未発表（私の間違いで無ければ）の曲を数曲演奏してくれた事だ。もしそうだとしたら、なんとしても次のアルバムに収録して欲しいと思わせる輝きを持った曲達を聴かせてくれた。特にグラフィティーを立方体にした映像を使った曲は私にとってその日のライブをより「ソー・スペシャル」な物にしてくれた。ベースラインとメロディーが印象深く、
シンプルでスタイリッシュであまりにもかっこよかった。

50分近くに渡って会場をノリノリにさせた後、ボム・ザ・ベースの華麗なる経歴はこの曲から始まったと言える"Beat Dis"がこの日最後の曲として演奏された。アナログシンセのループサウンドを残したまま、大歓声を上げる客席に向かって両手の親指を立ててにこやかにステージを終えたティム達三人であった。

最後に、私は幸運にも今はアムステルダムに住むティムの出身地ロンドンで観る事が出来たが、日本のファンのために日本でもライブをしてくれる事を祈りながらこのレビューを終えたい。
