Yeah, I already posted this in a bulletin. But I really want to remember. =)
So, I drove into my dad's house late Friday night, because I had my LSAT (entrance exam for law school) out by his house this Saturday morning.
This morning, I leave to the testing center to find that he had packed me a lunch. A sandwich, some chips, and a soda.
It sounds tiny, but my dad had never been around for most of my life before the age of 17. This was trippy. I thanked him, and he said, "Of course. I'll always take care of you."
I didn't really know how to take that, because he hadn't taken care of me. And he remains kind of on and off. But I decided to take it for what it's worth and smiled a little bigger than I'd intended.
I always wanted him around when I was 8 or 9 or so. But now, I'm 22 and taking an exam to go to law school, and here I am with a lunch my dad packed for me in a baggy. I think that made my day.
