The Mental Overdrive track "Dekadin" from the 2004 Smalltown Supersound album "083" is now available from digital stores in its new "Revisited" form.
Pavel & Mischa's "Adriaticisnewbalearic mix" slows the pace down for the hot summer, while the "Extended" version has been, well, extended. And remastered.

A brand new Mental Overdrive single, “Skanken” is now available on Prins Thomas’ imprint Full Pupp.

An album for the label is also in the making, so watch out!

From the FP press release:

Per Martinsen aka Mental Overdrive shouldn’t need any introduction being the granddad of the norwegian electronic music scene and all…Hidden away in a little snowcave near the polar circle he’s currently preparing the bits that eventually will become his debut album for Full Pupp. We’ve heard some bits and though we’d like to keep them all under the lid for a little while longer, here’s a little sneak peek of what he’s done and hopefully preparing you off his unique take on modern dance music taking in elements of new wave, new beat, detroit and dubstep on the way. Per unleashed this on us at one of the Full Pupp nights in Oslo and recently we saw how it took the roof off at Fabric… For the b-side we paired Per up with the equally Detroit-loving Blackbelt Andersen which gives us a hi-speed samba techno work out with a unhealthy deep bass. Seriously, just because we can’t write proper release sheets doesn’t mean the music’s not good… Thomas, Oslo 4th of June 2009

Mental Overdrive's remix of the Skatebard classic "Sgnelkab" is ready for release on May 25th through Digitalo Enterprises/Kompakt.

From the release info text:

Only a very few lucky people can call SKATEBARD's wonderful debut LP their own. “Skateboarding was a crime in 1989...” got released on TELLE's electronic offshoot TELLEKTRO, home of great Norwegian artists like ANNIE or RÖYKSOPP. The key track on that album was “SGNELKAB” which got played and loved to death by DJs like Sven Väth, Michael Mayer and Pascal FEOS. It instantly became a classic and always remained a secret weapon. The few copies available on Discogs cost € 50 and more.... Now “SGNELKAB” is finally available on a full vinyl side and remastered to great effect! Along comes a brand new remix by Norwegian techno godfather MENTAL OVERDRIVE (R&S). He turned the track into an insanely hot disco rave remix that already got great feedback from the usual suspects. The artwork was accomplished by another Scandinavian legend: Sähkö's very own Tommi Grönlund!

In the beginning of 2008, we offered an 'EXCLUSIVE BACKWARDS MESSAGE' to be implemented on Mental Overdrive's new album "You are being manipulated" through an eBay auction. The winner of the auction got the opportunity to compose and record their very own spoken message. The message was then turned backwards by the means of digital processing and 'hidden' inside the mix of one of the tracks on the album. All in true occult rock'n'roll style.

We now ask you to reveal the message.

Just locate the track by listening to the CD or the digital download release of the album (it's actually quite audible in the mix).
Then 'reverse' the entire audio of that track, note down the message, and send us your written answer via email to loveod@mac.com.
Any audio software will do the job, but for freeware you can check out Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/) - a simple editor for PC, Mac and Linux.

The winner will get a free lifetime (!) subscription on all Love OD digital releases in the future.

The deadline is NOVEMBER 1st 2008.

Tip! The message contains no more than 3-4 words. Repeated over and over.
