Videoshoot Moss was succesfull, work in progress this august

If you want to hear about progress today you came to the right place. Moss has succesfully spent their time in always stunningly welcoming Essex to start working on the new demo. They came back with a bag full of new inspirational tracks to work on. If you're lucky enough you might catch one of them live this summer. Tell us what you think! Plans are to hopefully start recording new stuff around september / october. And then we shall have the long awaited and so very inportant second album!

But first things first. Surely we have not yet had enough of the debut 'The Long Way Back' so we figured we needed extended airplay through video. Last monday and tuesday we were at the studio to shoot the video. Which one should be a juicy secret till it's screening! It has been a lovely couple of days, moss would love to thank all the extras, the Creative Animal Jan & Joost and the Cinevideogroup Tim and Niels. Yeah boys, you know how to work that camera. Sexyness. For what we have seen so far in the editsets, we have PURE MOVING ART and one proud Bob Gibson (hopelfully not giving away the deal here). We hope to be sharing this with you real soon!

Bob Gibson has been with A Blue Chicken from the get-go. After his wonderfull series 'Imaginary City Concepts 1' his carreer has taken a flight. Not only has his band Moss played all major venues in Holland, he also combines studying architecture with working at an office for urban design. Luckily he still manages to create wonderful artworks, in which we can find his great love for the city. His four new pieces are highly detailed and very mysterious. The piece de resistance is the incredible panorama, which allows us a 360 degree view on Gibson's Imaginary City. Two meters wide and stretched on an extra thick frame, this work of art will leave everyone breathless. Check them out on www.abluechicken.com

Furthermore moss will be concentrating on the last festival gigs of the summer. Check the giglist, hopefully see you there soon, like we had a great gig in Goes. The Mossers came back to Zeeland straight from the boat from Essex to be the procclaimed Zeeuwse Promise. Again agreat day, a great gig, a great audience and a huge stage! Thank you everone at Goes Promotion for having us.

Music

During the day or in the evening, on the festival's stages and in the pub, you can enjoy free musical acts all over during Oerol. Exciting, innovative crossover sounds will take you by surprise on the Groene Strand. Balkan meets Beats. Polka meets rock. Get your hips gyrating during the afternoon of Turkish music.

During the day, the warm, atmospheric sounds of a wide range of singer-songwriters and bands will also waft across the Westerkeyn festival centre, which will also warm to the African rhythms of Mundial on Tour. Between and after acts, various DJs will get you dancing the day and night away. In addition, our mobile stage, Held op Wielen, (Heroes on Wheels) will carry more music over the island, allowing contemporary artists to pay tribute to their musical heroes.

Not only does the festival provide a highly diverse, fascinating range of musical attractions, but there will also be a great deal to engage your ears in Terschelling's bars and cafés. And for the most up-to-date overview of all the musical performances, see the daily festival paper.



Niet alleen het theaterprogramma van Oerol kent sterke verhalen. Wat betreft het muziekprogramma kun je simpelweg stellen dat we een hele sterke programmering hebben. Duidelijk gebaseerd op dit thema is het muziekproject Held op Wielen. Dit rijdend podium is mede mogelijk gemaakt door Nomad. De hele festivalperiode zal het mobiele podium op verschillende plaatsen op het eiland optredens verzorgen.
Talentvolle en interessante muzikanten vertolken op dit reizende podium de favoriete nummers van de helden die hen geïnspireerd hebben. Naast de muzikanten zal ook een aantal jonge dichters en schrijvers voordragen uit werk van één of meerdere van hun helden.
Gastheer van het hele programma is singer/songwriter en cabaretier André Manuel.
Held op wielen houdt op iedere plaats 30 minuten stand om daarna weer door te reizen naar de volgende locatie. Zie de dagkrant voor alle locaties en speeltijden van die dag!



Terschellings Oerol Festival 2007

Terschellings Oerol Festival is an annual location-specific theatre festival held on the Dutch island Terschelling in mid-June. Location-specific theatre, theatre in barns, sheds and on the streets, modern dance, opera, visual art, music and the various cross-overs are the ingredients of a festival that uses the whole island as its stage. Over the past 25 years, the festival has grown from a small-scale street festival into an internationally recognised, multi-disciplinary festival.

This year the 26th edition of the festival will take place from the 15th till the 24th of June. The theme will be Tall Tales.


Terschellings Oerol Festival is een locatiegericht theaterfestival dat jaarlijks midden juni plaatsvindt. Locatietheater, schuurtjestheater, straattheater, moderne dans, opera, beeldende kunst, muziek en de diverse cross-overs zijn de ingrediënten van een festival met het eiland als podium. Het festival groeide in 25 jaar uit van een klein straatfestival tot een internationaal zeer gewaardeerd multidisciplinair festival.

In 2007 vindt het festival plaats van 15 t/m 24 juni. Het thema dit jaar is Sterke Verhalen: een ode aan de verhalen die de mensheid vanaf haar ontstaan heeft gevormd en haar ook in de toekomst richting zal geven.

Kaartverkoop vindt vanaf 13 juni plaats op Terschelling.

The Magic Numbers komen terug naar nederland. En Moss mag weer mee! Na een te gekke avond in Tivoli afgelopen maart hebben the Magic Numbers ons terug gevraagd om hun te supporten in de Melkweg op 29 Mei en in de Effenaar op 30 Mei. Voor beide shows gaan we 2 kaartjes weggeven. Wie ons het eerst terugmailt waarom ze graag mee willen wint 2 kaartjes. Enneh, wel even zeggen naar welke show je wilt.

TV

We bleken opeens aan het eind van Julia's Tango te zitten afgelopen maandag. Het forum van de TV-serie van Net-5 is er meteen druk mee.

Since we've been very busy we thought it's time for a following round up on the regular moss behaviour and crazy plans of the past few weeks.

You can't have missed us on the radio! Saturday 5th of may we were staying with charismatic crew and hosts at a steamy hot MuziekCafe from Tros radio2 in downtown Amsterdam. In good company of Madeleine Peyroux, Arthur Adam and Moon Baker we had a great time. Then last tuesday we invaded the Move your Ass team at 3FM. A great night as well, performing-on-demand-for-the-occasion with a cover of Buffalo Springfield's For what it's worth A video will be online soon, keep checking (and in the press section you can listen again to the show). We almost lit the studio on fire, but things are back to normal now, the peace restored. (Warm crew over there, by the way! See you again soon guys)

After a 4 page section in Starstyle magazine of april, moss then got nicely featured in the may issue of le cool EZ magazine (Holland's first internetmagazine).

Then our great friends of The Gasoline Brothers presented the second edition album over the Coverclub, not available in stores you guys!!, featuring the theme of Neil Young (staying in tune here with 3fm). Yes! This is another round of FREE MUSIC GIFTS as you can freely download music and artwork from the likes of Ponoka, Audiotransparent, Leine ,The Gasoline Brothers
and Silence is sexy. Moss delivered CINNAMON GIRL right to your doorstep! Thoroughly enjoyable.....

Moss added an extra hint of culture to the agenda by returning to the NAI at Rotterdam coming may 26th, to the opening of an exposition of Le Corbusier. Back by demand, the mossers will perform live soundscapes to the opening film of this expo. One time only, but a fire starter it is... Come with us!

Further future plans are great aswell. As moss awaits the OEROL festival, we got booked by the Hilversum Alive festival for friday 29th of june. Infamous recordstore OOR will make sure you can enjoy one special night of EXCELSIOR bands all on one stage. Moss, Alamo Race Track and Do-the-Undo will be there for you, this is something you cannot afford to miss. Bring sunshine and get a beer on the side.

After 9 weeks the album The Long Way Back got sadly kicked out of the KINK 40, by KinkFM. Salute!

But to make things up to you and to try and remote slightly more to the visuals, moss is now working on a video for Light of my Life with a very special team. Of course it is still a secret but we can assure you it is going to be 3'08 minutes of pure moving art. Keep you posted on progress!

We dachten dat het wel eens tijd werd voor een update van waar wij mee bezig zijn geweest en nog mee aan de slag gaan.

RADIO

Je kunt ons bijna niet gemist hebben op de radio. 3FM en KinkFM hebben ons veel gedraaid, evenals radio 2. Daarnaast zijn we nu verschillende live programmas aan het doen. Na optredens bij Opium, Club van 100 en Radio Middelburg zaten we vorige week bij Tros Muziekcafe, samen met Madeleine Peyroux, Arthur Adam and Moon Baker. Gezellig! Afgelopen dinsdag waren we te gast bij LlinkFM, Move Your Ass! En vandaag gaan we langs bij Omroep Brabant.

The Long Way Back is nu bijna 3 maanden uit en we zijn heel erg blij met de positieve reakties die we overal krijgen.

COVERCLUB

Na het grote succes van de kerstcoverclub is de volgende editie geland. Ditmaal is het thema Neil Young. We vonden het zo gaaf om te doen dat onze Cinnamon Girl er live nu ook vaak bij is. Soms zelfs met Alamo Race Track

ARCHITECTUUR

Via Bob heeft Moss een speciale band met het NAI (Nederlands Architectuur Instituut). In April heeft Moss live de stomme film metropolis begeleid. Eind mei spelen we tijdens de opening van een speciale tentoonstelling over Le Corbusier. Ook hier zullen we live een film begeleiden, ditmaal over het werk van Le Corbusier.
