The cast for the next season of Just The Two of Us on VTM (Belgium Television) has just been announced.  It's a "Celebrity Duets" style format where famous actors sing duets with famous singers.  One of Belgium's top film stars, Guy Van Sande, will be partnered with  Lunascape vocalist Kyoko!

Just The Two Of Us has around 800,000 - 1 million viewers per show, which hopefully means a lot of new fans for the band in their home country of Belgium.  Keep an eye on the VTM site for news of the show once it begins on October 21st.

This is a press release from Lunascape's label, Dancing Ferret Discs / Noir Records.  It speaks for itself!

=====================================
There are some dreams that all bands share when thinking about their home town: a homecoming gig at the biggest stadium in town, a key to the city, an invitation to dinner with the Mayor, and best of all, having a street named after them.  Two of the European bands on Dancing Ferret Discs may have only to relocate to Bakersfield, California to make this dream come true, as the city has just announced plans to name two streets after each of them.

Belgian band Lunascape is noted for their smooth production, lush electronic soundscapes, alternative-pop song structures, and amazing female vocals that have earned the band comparisons to Delerium and Cocteau Twins, while singer Kyoko Baertsoen has a vocal style reminiscent of Sinead O'Connor or Dolores O'Riordan of The Cranberries.  Kyoko, who just gave birth to a new baby boy in the past few weeks, was thrilled to discover that Kyoko Court, named for her, would be located just off of Lunascape Avenue.  The news comes just two weeks before the European release of their album, "Reminiscence," which already met with great success in the US.

If anyone on Lunascape Avenue needs a cup of sugar, they have only to walk a few short feet to their neighbors on Kemi Street.  Kemi Vita is the vocalist for Dutch group The Dreamside.  Given Kemi's amazing operatic vocal range, it's no surprise her street adjoins that of enchanting chanteuse Kyoko.  The Dreamside's music is a bit heavier, however, combining elements of hard rock, metal, and industrial programming in a cauldron of supernatural lyrics and imagery.  This formula has been gaining the band steady praise for many years, earning them a solid fan base before later bands like Evanescence and Lacuna Coil achieved big commercial success with the same style.  Ponder that as you cross a few streets to get from Kemi Street to Dreamside Way.  The Dreamside's re-issue of their long-lost debut album, "Pale Blue Lights," will be in stores at the end of October.

While both bands are thrilled at the honor of having two streets in Bakersfield, California named after them each, they are also slightly puzzled:  neither band has performed in California before.  Although, they added quickly, they are certainly looking forward to doing so.  While the land around these streets is currently empty, townhouses will begin appearing on the lots in the weeks ahead. In a year's time, most of the home construction in the development between Taft Highway and Gosford Road will be finished, and residents can walk out of their new houses and have their photos taken under street signs that say "Dreamside Way" or "Lunascape Avenue."  Dancing Ferret Discs speculates that a free concert might be offered to residents of the housing development to commemorate the occasion.

Two brand new Lunascape songs are available on upcoming CD compilations.

An exclusive new song, "Raven Star," will be included on "Where's Neil When You Need Him?"  This CD from author Neil Gaiman features Lunascape and 16 other bands (Tori Amos, Azam Ali, Rasputina, The Cruxshadows and others) who have all written songs about their favorite Gaiman characters and stories.  "Raven Star" is based on the novel, "Stardust."  This album will be released on July 18th in the US and August 18th in Europe.  Low fidelity sound clips of all 17 tracks from this CD can be heard on Amazon.com

A special demo version of the new Lunascape song "Chemical Lingo" is available, along with 14 songs from other bands, on the $4.99 compilation, "Dancing in the Dark 2006"  This disc is available at your favorite US retailer or through online merchants such as IsoTank Music and is on the shelves right now.
