Current mood:  groggy
OK I'm a slacker... I've been back from Oz for three months now and this is my first post.

We are getting back into the swing of things and our gig list will continue to grow so keep an eye on our website calendar!

In case you prefer to buy your music online rather than those funny old shiny round disks you might like to know that our songs are now available at your favourite online music stores. To make life easy for you, here are links to two of the more popular stores...

PayPlay.fm

iTunes

See you soon!

Mark.

PS... check out my new 'solo' website...

Hi once again

Since my last entry I've been to the East Coast Blues and Roots Festival, a.k.a. the 18th Bluesfest, Byron Bay. A great festival with music ranging from Afrobeat to Zydeco It's so popular that it's moving to a larger site next year. Let's hope the organisers don't try and sell too many tickets and end up just as uncomfortably packed as it was this year... Anyway, you can read more of my thoughts on the festival at our website in
April's newsletter

If you're watching TV in about a month's time and a Boots commercial comes on about a woman getting undressed on a beach while everyone stares at her you may notice a familiar face in the crowd. Yep, yours truly was invited to take part in the filming of the Boots commercial which took place yesterday on a quiet stretch of beautiful beach on Queensland's Gold Coast. It was a very early start for me - the alarm went off at 3am and filming started at sunrise. So although it did get very warm later in the day, it was pretty cold sitting there in my surf shorts at 6am! Those of you who know me well know that I'm not really an early bird. But for the sake of art (I suppose ads qualify as art in a way?) and a chance to experience the hustle and bustle of a day on a film set, I was willing to make the sacrifice!   I found it very ironic that an ad for a major British company would be filmed in Australia. But then again, you can't guarantee sunshine and a clean beach in the UK...

But one thing we do have in the UK is water. Things here are getting bad, with water restrictions on level 5. Which means no car washing, using waste water to water the garden (but only twice a week!) and showering once a day for no more than 4 minutes. The government says we mustn't use more than 140 litres per day per household. It looks like there's no sign of rain soon so everyone is bracing for level 6... I'm doing my bit while I'm here by only drinking beer

Well, I'm off to Sydney in a few days so more from me after I get back to Brisbane.

Stay happy and healthy!

Mark.

Hi folks! Mark here. I think it's about time we used this blog facility...

If you subscribe to our newsletter you'll know that I'm in Brisbane, Australia at the moment and having a great time. I've been getting up to play at the Monday night blues Jam at Satchmos in Brisbane's West End. There are a lot of very good blues musos here and I've had the pleasure of playing with many of them. The jam is hosted by Mark Doherty who also hosts the radio show 'Nothin' but the Blues' on 4ZZZ - FM 102.1 every Tuesday night at 10pm. Mark has been playing our 'Made in Mississippi' album for a few months now and after Easter he will be interviewing me on the show.

Check out the following links for some of the musicians I've played with...

All-round bluesman extraordinaire and winner of the Australian Blues Music Festival award for 'Best New Talent', Mojo Webb
Harvey and Tom from Steppin' Out
Harvey also plays with Big Kitty and the Scaredy Cats

Other great local talent includes...

Top Brisbane drummer Coojee Timms
Guitarist Rupert Jenner
Guitarist and guitar shop owner
Craig Claxton

More from me soon. Keep happy and healthy!

Mark.
