Scott and I would like to thank all of you who have supported and rallied around us in this tough time.

If you havent heard, our mom, Regina Sparks, passed away Sunday Jan 18th at 9 pm due to an elevated CO2 count in her blood and pulmonary fibrosis which lead to lung failure

It's a really rough time for us but we appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers. We consider ourselves blessed to have such good friends.

Hey you crazy cats. Those of you planning on watching some killer rock and roll this weekend in our lovely hometown have a serious decision to make. You know what I'm talkin about? There are two shows in Bay City this weekend; The one at the Eagles Hall, and the one at the Bay City Teen Center. I thought I'd  shed some perspective on the situation for you younguns (and  olduns too).

The Music scene in Bay City was started by bands who wanted to rock the hell outta people, and had no way to do it unless they stepped up and did it themselves. Misuse, Xpect Nothing(aka dust) Mentality, Floorbound (and even BHS and SLS) paved the way for what you have today. We put on the shows with money out of our own pocket because we cared about the music and wanted to start something bigger than ourselves, and bigger than this town. Recently everything has kinda been downhill, but new bands(Like Copper Cactus(R.I.P), YNC, and Bad Habit) Along with Mother Superior, Myth and Legend,  and us have helped breathe life back into it and keep it alive, and we are still trying to make it bigger and better! Bringing in out of town bands to expose the kids of our city to music they wouldnt normally hear(unless they went on alot of road trips).

Anyway, this Saturday we won't be in Bay City, we're playing in Cypress for anyone that wants to come, but the POINT is this: Those of you that still have this in your hearts, and want to help us keep the dream alive, Go to the teen center, and check out Mother Superior's last show. There are going to be some killer bands there: M&L, Bonnie Blue, YNC, and a lot others. THAT is a show where they are doing things for themselves. I'm Not trying to tell you what to do, and if you wanna go to Eagles' Hall by all means, go. But know that The teen center show is a show put on by the people, for the people.

Well, this was apparently a hot topic.

To Allen, yeah there hasnt been any GREAT success, but what bay city has is a beautiful thing. We've been on the road and played so many shitty shows that it's great to have a place where kids WANT to come out, regardless of whether or not there is anything to do. Talk to any touring band and they'll agree. But I do see where you're coming from. It's easy to stay stuck in the "Bay City" Rut.

To the kids from Thou Shall Fall. We respect everyone for trying to do what they do, and we weren't in any way discouraging you from playing where you were playing. We would love to play with you guys and help you out and watch you grow, just like we did with every other band, YNC, Bad Habit, CC, and others.  Having two separate places to play is NOT about a competition at all, but you gotta understand it takes alot of money to put these shows on, and if the bands are putting it on, they can get money, if the eagles hall is putting it on, they get money. Its no shot taken at the eagles hall, they want the business, and that's understandable, but if WE throw the shows, we can create and sustain a self-sufficient thing, which in turn helps bands like us and mother superior, myth and legend or whoever else pay for cds that get pressed, and shirts that get made, etc. 

And by all means don't perceive this as arrogance. Floorbound is not THE scene in Bay City, and we haven't been for a long time, its always been about multiple bands and kids coming out that liked listening to EVERYONE of them. That's what makes it so kickass.

Oh yeah Ramon, I'm a tard for forgetting innersphere, even though there was a bit of a gap in between what they did and when we started, they still showed us it could be done, and for that matter, anonymous and worm suicide did too.

Yo! Right now we're hanging with our buds christian and allen in san antonio. We played the warhol on monday and they liked us enough to offer us a slot friday night, super cool. So yesterday we woke up and thought to ourselves: Selves, today is a good day to promote.

We were told to hit up the hot topic at Northstar Mall in SA, so that was first stop. I went inside to talk to a few of the workers there, and couldnt get our cd setup for consignment. Meanwhile our ever vigilant bro Christian is outside getting people to listen to Floorbound. Long story short, he sold 2 cd's in 3 minutes, and the habibi at the kiosk sellin exotic smelling lotions was pissed cause we were "taking away" all of the "business" that he had.

So, we were kindly escorted out of the mall by two security guards one of em was a douche, one not a douche. It was a long walk, so we started talking to the non douche about us, where we are from and that we're playing the rabbit friday night and I THINK HE MIGHT COME TO THE SHOW. This, understandably made the douche SUPER PISSED off, maybe cause it was unprofessional, but I think he knew from looking at us that we can rock and rock hard, and he wanted to hear what he was missing out .. that we went to HOGWILD. Super cool little record shop, We now have our cds there, for you SA kids in need of some Floorbound. Help us sell that B out, so we can get some more in there.

Today we're leaving for San Angelo, and then coming back to SA thursday to hang, promote, PROBABLY get kicked out of another mall, and Rock the S outta the rabbit Friday night.

So...we were told that this is the hardest summer for bands to tour, but weren't too worried cause as of last week we had 12 shows booked in 14 days. Pretty rad right?

Well, in the last 3 days we've had 3 shows drop.

Bummer.

    Well, not super big but it IS an update, haha.

May 23rd we released our new EP "We Hold the Horizon". We worked SUPER hard on this and would really like for you guys to check it out. We have the tunes up here, are putting together an online store, and should be on iTunes very very soon.
Judging by peoples reactions so far, it's a pretty awesome cd. We thought so already, but YOU guys are the real judge.

That being said, the leadoff track, "Only the Lonely" Has been getting killer reviews at garageband.com and has been picked to be the hard rock TRACK OF THE DAY on this wednesday, June 18th.



So, other news. We are touring in august. We can't wait to see all of your beautiful faces in New Mexico, Arizona, California, and THIS YEAR, Oklahoma. And yes, of course Texas. Check out our tour dates and if you can help us out in anyway (getting us a show, letting us sleep on your floor, having mom make us some killer lasagna) we will love you forever.

Well, I just wanted to let you know that this friday, march 16th, Floorbound will be playing in Bay City at the Teen Center with some amazing bands!!
Also, They start tracking drums on the new cd the day after!!
Also, They are planning a west coast tour for the beginning of June.
And new shirts will be coming soon!

Pretty sweet, eh?

We want to start doing bay city shows like once every other month, if that is cool with you bay city/wharton/west columbia/boling/markham/ganado/van vleck kids.

We want to bring in new bands, and keep the local scene growing..

OH! I almost forgot. We will be playing some new tunes at the show. GET EXCITED!!

Sooooo....we're heading to anaheim right now to play at chain reaction tonight...pretty psyched about that. If you didnt hear scott and I both had some ridiculous stomach bacteria and puked our guts out for 24 hours straight; fun fun. We met some killer dudes from IOWA named audiokineticassault. We've played more than a few dive bars, almost got beat up by skinheads, took scott to the emergency room(the stomach bacteria), and played the best show of the tour so far in RIDGECREST, CA, last night, and we're looking forward to coming back to texas and rocking in dallas and austin ...and then


JULY 2nd

We will be having our "homecoming show" at the bay city civic center, and it will be  BC people's first chance to get your hands on the NEW FLOORBOUND TSHIRTS, and brand new music from us, which we will be giving out with every tshirt sale,,so mark your calenders, cause we'll be there looking for ya.
