Ok so we're suposed to be kicking back, eatin' turkey, drinkin' wine and giving thanks for all we "have". As if we didn't rudly TAKE what we have... Oklahoma. OKLA means red. Homa means man. ...
Although Native Americans have generally accepted the nomanclature of "Indian" they got the name from an idiot who thought he'd sailed to INDIA. He was mistaken. no⋅men⋅cla⋅ture /ˈnoʊ mənˌkleɪ tʃər, noʊˈmɛn klə tʃər, -ˌtʃʊər/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [noh-muh n-kley-cher, noh-men-kluh-cher, -choo r]
a set or system of names or terms, as those used in a particular science or art, by an individual or community, etc.. So as we sit down with our family and loved ones go ahead and enjoy all you have. I will be doing the same. There is nothing in this world more improtant than family. No greater currency than joy and laughter with the ones you love. I would hope a couple days later you will stop and think about something, family extends to the family of mankind. And that we all owe our Native American brothers and sisters far more than we will ever begin to repay them. So I, for one, do not celebrate "Columbus Day", and I give my Thanks on Thanksgiving NOT to what we HAVE, but to having great brothers in the Okla-Homans, and all of the inhabitants of the every Tribal Nation accross the entire US. On behalf of all the cruelty, torture, extortion, and terrorism that have been brought upon these good people I hope you accept my sincere appology. Our song "Church And State" derived a few words in the lyrics from this sad chapter in history. Never let it the injustice be forgotton. ..tr>

First of all, we're big fans. If you didn't know that about us, you never knew us, period. Since disbanding, it's been a pleasure to focus on just being fans again.
I actually drove to the Egyptian Theatre and watched the very first world premier viewing of Traktor's "Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah" Music Video there just to be able to say "I was one of the first."
I was crazy enough to actually enter the "Dance on Stage with the Flaming Lips NYE 2007" contest (glad I lost and got to watch the show instead!). And my bro and I are collectively member number 150+15 of the Steven Drozd Appreciation Club.
We've watched the Fearless Freaks DVD a number of times, and every CD we can get in 5.1 DVD dolby, we do!
So the long awaited "Christmas On Mars" is finally done and going to be shown at the Sasquatch music festival. The Lips are on Monday, don't really have any interest in staying all three days, not really into any of the other bands.
Booked the Monday show date in the first 48 hours tickets went on sale. There were three days of festival, only one band we really wanted to see so tickets were purchased for Monday the 26th only. The Flaming Lips are going to finally show CoM man! We thought "hey, we're gonna be one of the first people to see the premier viewing of this film" (now seven years plus in the making.) For Astro it's a mere 5 hour scenic drive to the Gorge in George, Washington. What a beautiful venue! For me, I had to book a flight from SoCal, and take a day of upaid leave from work, and book a hotel room for the night of the Lips. But it's gonna all be worth it, right? CoM on!Well time went by and I noticed the Sasquatch line up was going through some changes. I couldn't believe my eyes, one of the things was that the CoM showing was NOT going to be the same as the Lips UFO performance date. This blew my mind.
I panicked. I bothered Kliph and Steven with MySpace mail asking if I should reschedule my flight, my hotel, WTF should we do? Being the thoroughly upstanding gentlemen they are both replied with the best answer they could, even after consulting Scott Booker on the matter, only time was going to tell.
I realize a lot of people tried to make it happen but the venue has the final word and they just got done with some crazy experiences with the showing earlier so it simply was not to be for we who went only on Monday.
From what I read on the flaminglips.com bored there were some who didn't get to see the show I guess, because the free tickets got dealt out and ran out fast. Ya I can imagine! And there was some confusion on the show times. Kudos to those who saw it first, I envy you who were the chosen ones. Well, all's well that ends well and it turned out to be a righteously kick-ass show regardless. Will just have to catch CoM some other time. I'm saddened I cannot tell my grand kids about the how I saw the very first viewing but what I did see was one helluva bitchen show! The boys decided to do a cover of Led Zepplin's "The Song Remains The Same" and I'll be damned if four or five fine babes decided to dance on stage in nothing but their birthday suits... which for some of us actually really helped ease the pain of NOT getting to see CoM. Special thanks to those free-spirited fine young things and the Animal Wrangler who I'm guessing picked 'em out!
My camera phone battery died minutes beforehand. If there was such a thing as the hand of God I just got poked in the eye by it. Can you believe that shit? Oh well do a Google Image search or Pitchfork and you'll find them. The camera doesn't do them justice, you had to be there man! Any Lips live-show fan can tell you that you'll never know just what to expect and that every show, though similar in structure enough that you might hear some whiney complaints from a few which amaze me. Even the freakin' sound check was new and exciting. And if you haven't seen them live yet... you better move it way up on your bucket list fast!Biggest bonus for me though was the fact that they've listened to their fans who happen to know them for more than just their Yoshimi stuff. Who ever decided they're gonna play "Mountain Side" freakin' made my flight, hotel, gas, grub, and docked pay ALL worth it - and THEN some! Was awesome to see Wayne on the guitar for so much more of the show. He did a great and long rythm guitar solo for us. Michael was in fine form and his bass sounded better than ever!We also wanted to say how moved we were by the bands efforts to honor Memorial Day as they did. Having a Bugel to play Taps with while Kliph earnestly holds his right arm out with hand held in the universally recognized peace sign really sent the message home. Think of all the brothers, and sisters, that could have been there with us in the audience Monday night if this crazy war wasn't still in play. If you read back in history on our blogs here you will see we have a favorite charity who helps those coming back home with major disabilities and behavioral health issues to deal with (suicidal tendencies are extrememely high for those who just wanted to defend the Country they love). Hope you'll give. If you do, a free copy of the rare and ellusive "An Anthology of 'Rats" is yours for the asking. That's gonna be worth a shiney nickel some day I bet and you'll be doing something cool.
I'll pass this bit from the show on to you ... use your noggin when it comes time to vote folks! Watch out for the "Fanatical Fucks"! Peace!
JJ

We're boarded up, nailed up shut, rats and mice take center stage, but for these 'Rats, this is good bye. We're letting our web site www.thenuclearlabrats.com expire. There will never be a new 'Rats tune written. Why? We wrote a song in 2005 called TURBIN BOMB. It was motivated by the news of the death threats Danish cartoonists received for drawing pictures of Mohammad and how Iran was thirsty for Uranium to build nuclear weapons, and news of insurgents activities and suicide bombers. It's been well over two years now and it's still all over the news. We were simply trying out the concept of being topical based writers, rocking the news.
However, we didn't realize we would put ourselves at risk in the process. And so we're done. This wasn't what we intended. In case you don't know what we're talking about see the links below. Afterwards click on TURBIN BOMB in our music players and click LYRICS. So much for freedom of speech.
We don't get it. How can man-made religion be so dvisive. How can human beings kill and think they're right in doing so in their gods name. It turns out this is nothing new, it's not news, it's a sad reality which just keeps repeating itself. Humans have been created with a defective chip in their heads to be able to believe in something, no matter how wrong, with all their heart, with zero evidence or proof of such, and moreso, condem all who do not follow their particular brand of god to death. To say "since the infidels are going to hell anyway, why not snuff them out, without any remorse" is just sick.
It was nice knowing you all, but these here test animals are now officially deceased, as is the fate of most, if not all test animals. Maybe we'll be reincarnated as guinea pigs in our next life, who knows. But now, the test is over.
Thanks to those of you who befriended us and showed your support over the years. Thank you to Chemistry Set Records for being brave enough to have aired our demos. Thank you to SoundAid.org for all you do to feed the hungry. Thanks to everybody who watched us writhe in our cages over the years. Thank you for your understanding. Our Rat masks are being retired, maybe some museum will display them with our story and song some day.
We love all. We're not racists. But we hate what some choose to do in the name of their religion. We wish you all the very best. The Nuclear Labrats RIP 1991-2008

Getting a jump start at our business at hand for 2008 now Christmas is behind us. Hope everyone got what they wished for and maximized time spent with family and loved ones.
Hoping you will oppose apathy at the very least and participate. We're asking this simple question: "What matters to you in 2008?"
We hope to get a ton of different answers from you good people out there. Some people nuclear proliferation matters, some people we're not going 'green' fast enough, some worry about which party will take control next.
What is on the news that bothers or concerns you that you feel strongly about? We'd sure like to see a string of posts answering this question right here.
Darfur is a fucked up situation. Our troops coming back mamed and suffering post-traumatic-stress-disorder, and commiting suicide left and right sucks! Feeding the poor and hungry has after 40 years effort not come to fruition. Pakistans headlines today read "Bhutto's death takes Pakistan to brink of abyss, An assault on idea of moderate democracy"
So we all realize there is a lot of depressing news and SNAFU out there. We'd love to announce WAR IS OVER and PEACE WINS OUT and WORLD HUNGER is solved and GREEN ENERGY REIGNS but not quite there yet.
Thank you in advance for those who post.

To participate in the Give OneGet One program, running now through December 31, please visit: http://www.laptop.org or http://www.laptopgiving.org
..
One learning child. One connected child. One laptop at a time. The mission of One Laptop per Child (OLPC) is to empower the children of developing countries to learn by providing one connected laptop to every school-age child. In order to accomplish our goal, we need people who believe in what we're doing and want to help make education for the world's children a priority, not a privilege.Since November 12th, OLPC has been offering a limited-time Give One Get One program in the United States and Canada. During Give One Get One, you can donate the revolutionary XO laptop to a child in a developing nation, and also receive one for the child in your life in recognition of your contribution.
Thanks to a growing interest in the program, we have extended Give One Get One through the end of the year. You may also donate laptops via our Simply Give and Give Many options. Through the increasing public interest in OLPC, we hope to give many more children the opportunity to grow, explore, learn and express themselves.
We did it! You can too. Makes a great Christmas gift. But you have to hurry. It's a great Laptop by the way.

This thing will pick up a WiFi signal your typical $3,000 notebook wouldn't find. It's got a built in camera and sound, made tough and durable, and much more! A real world laptop for real world change.
The XO laptop. Many years and an infinite amount of sweat equity went into the creation of the XO laptop. Designed collaboratively by experts from academia and industry, the XO is the product of the very best thinking about technology and learning. It was designed with the real world in mind, considering everything from extreme environmental conditions such as high heat and humidity, to technological issues such as local-language support. As a result, the XO laptop is extremely durable, brilliantly functional, energy-efficient, responsive, and fun.

Well finally. Freakin' Bush was still promoting world war III when "New Inteligence" got leaked.
Bush KNEW this new info, keep in mind, while still publically positioning the US for an attack on the new "Hitler".
But now that it's public knowledge that Iran is at least three years away from any nuclear war capabilities, and perhaps really are just utilizing the technology for energy, Bush is portrayed as Pinocchio in Middle Eastern media.
So concerns that we're going to invade Iran are, at least for the time being, layed to rest. It's hard to beleive we wrote the song "TURBIN BOMB" nearly two years ago now. Yet it's still what's on TV tonight.
We, the 'Rats, are not saying Iran's leadership and intents are saintly, far from it. But we ARE saying Bush has yet again demonstrated he's a royal fool.
