I didn't post in a while (being more communicative on facebook) but this billion of hungry people has really been bothering me.
I've search and asked , friedns , fans , what we could do to help and although visions of the near future are dark , I found that little things done by lots of people do help to change the world.
a lkittle money (less drinks , less junk food or cigarettes in your budget) , given every months , will help NGO programs to develop.
Here's the one I choose , but there's many of them that does a great work (like WFP).
Please , think and give . It 's for your own good to make this world a better place.

Current mood:  thankful
Hello Space friends

I know I didn't write much here lately , my real life being much richer than my virtual one:)
but even if it was released months ago , I thought I needed to say thank you again to Joakim for his Camino del sol's rework and tell you that it really blew some fresh air in my musical life.I search for reviews in english and didn't find much (most of them were in french) , but this one. Thanks also to Permanent Vacation for the brilliant work on Camino del sol Version Speciales.

Resident Advisor review
Not too long ago, I lamented that a collection of SebastiAn remixes sounded too monolithic for its own good: individually taken, the re-works were impressive, but listened to back to back, they drew too much attention to the template on which they relied. In term of symbolic capital, the album not only diminished SebastiAn's aura: It made his craft sound formulaic. At about the same time, Joakim Bouaziz, the Paris-based electro producer best known for his ever expanding versatility (producer/DJ/label-launching entrepreneur/remixeur extraordinaire), was also releasing a compilation of his most notable takes on other artists' songs, and although My Best Remixes is, so far, only available in France (on Joakim's own Tigersushi label), it reveals itself to be everything SebastiAn's album wasn't: kaleidoscopic, whimsical and a riveting listen from start to finish.

My Best Remixes opens up on the marching drum of Annie's "Never Too Late," a saccharine-fueled evanescent pop moment if there was ever one. Annie rarely knows whether her songs should be populist Top 40 hits or filler at some local indie disco night. In the hands of Joakim, though, the Norwegian songstress is turned—with a floating and ever-changing TB-303 line that becomes the spiraling backbone of the remix—into an eccentric acid-house heroine. And therein lies Joakim's intuitive remixing talent: Instead of enforcing his sound on the material, he teases out what the song might have said. At the time of the release of his remake of Tiga's "Pleasure from the Bass," Joakim's version sounded annoyingly syncopated next to the simple yet pristine original; today, however, his break-y take seems to have aged better, hinting at Tiga's perennial potential. It's one of those rare occasions when both the original producer and the remix guy end up advantaged by the remix.

The classically trained Joakim doesn't limit himself to one style in particular: Joakim twists tunes from synth-based indie bands such as Cut Copy or Late of the Pier into captivating, dance floor-friendly cuts and does Italo in the next breath—his low-key take on Max Berlin's 1987 "Elle et Moi" is the perfect album closer. And then there is that towering version of Antena's "Camino Del Sol" (sadly present only in a shortened album edit), another rejuvenated gem from the early '80s on which Joakim resists the Balearic charms of the original in favor of something almost entirely new. It is actually one of those rare musical moments when defining the track's very genre seems pointless, if not totally impossible. It's deep house (kinda), techno (right?), slow-motion electro (probably), nü-Balearica (but not really) and it echoes Joakim's own "Drumtrax" or "I Wish You Were Gone" a bit, yet it has an elusive air of absolute idiosyncrasy.

If the weirdly costumed half-leopard, half-Big Bird "person" adorning the compilation's artwork wasn't clear indication enough, Joakim is a free-spirited freak that isn't afraid to take his remixing jobs to uncharted territories. Luckily for us, the stupider he looks, the more compelling he seems to get.

Happy new year to all my visitors and friends on Myspace.
2008 was not so great , the record industry falling appart and personaly for Denis and I , losing Jeff Bodart and Marc Moulin was really hard.
I don't spend too much time here for the moment but I sure will  give news from Taiwan and  come back with 2 new albums this year (one being a double album).
Now , let keep fingers crossed and hope I'll get a deal for the Chinese market :)
Lots of  peace and love for the planet .
xoxoxo

Jeff Bodart past away yesterday the 20th of May , almost 17 years after Dirk Schoufs (that was the 24h of May 1991).
He was dead already just before the weekend , his brain wouldn't work but his heart wanted to have a bit more.
I'm gonna miss that old pal , who used to bring back Dirk home after a white night , completly drunk but still he would bring him to me.
This is why I was happy when he asked Denis to produce his album "Et parfois c'est comme ça".He came a lot to our home in the past 2 years , recording what was going to be his last work.I even ended up doing all the backing vocals , just because they needed a girl's voice and I was there :)
But , there was one special song on the album named "Ultra Marine" , that is a bossa , and you guys now how much bossa means to me.
I love that song and I think I'll carry on singing it , as long as I live. That will be my little contribution to honor Jeff's memory.
You can hear the song on Jeff's page

RIP Jeff and please , have a drink with Dirk in heaven

Mediterranean Songs

For the very first time , I'm gonna reissue an album on Itunes only , with a bonus track (Under your closed eyelids , that Denis and I totally re-arranged for the Boondocks new season).
Wish me luck , it's the first time I do an "only on line" reissue.
We remastered it and I must say this is one my fav record among all I did  (with Carpe Diem). Thanks to Martin Hayles , the production sounds amazingly new. There's no drums on the album (it was a concept , I was very conceptual at the time:) and we replaced  the drums by percussions and all sort of silly sounds.
My  top song  is Step by Step , I wrote it for my  new love of the year (1996) , Elliott , my baby son .
Big boy now , here's Elli with his daddy , my men...
And we still live those Mediterranean Songs every day

cool d:vision presents a new musical project dedicated to the most important and creative of city-districts around the world: Paris, New York, London and Madrid, cosmopolitan cities that are setting the trends of whole generations.
The first volume pays tribute to PARIS, a city with its "très chic" streets, elegant and charming areas, typical bistros, fashion-hotels, top restaurants, and the most exclusive clubs. Paris is a synonymous with class and refined musical taste.
The selection of CD 1 "DAY" - includes songs in the french language and is balanced between some ultra classics by Brigitte Bardot and Serge Gainsbourg, old style melodies but still very "modern" and songs by French artist of the so called "nouvelle vogue" like Rouge Rouge, Vincent Delerm, Monica Nogueira e i Paris Combo.
A compilation of smooth sounds, nice and refined melodies bringing up the rhythm and transmitting good vibrations from the first to the last track where the atmosphere gets more relaxed. The perfect CD for every moment of your day.
CD 2 "NIGHT" - is intended to make you move, with some of the best House tracks played in the coolest clubs, many of them recorded by top French producers like Bob Sinclar, Martin Solveig, David Vendetta, Yves La Rock and Richard Grey, here accompanied by some of the most prestigious producers likeTodd Terry, Osunlade, Mood II Swing, Quentin Harris, Dennis Ferrer etc….A pure "shock" of dance music and energy. All the tracks are un-mixed.
As a cool d:vison trademark you will have in your hand a luxurious, two-CD Box wrapping the 30 tracks with a very refined picture booklet inside.

The Original Sound Of Ibiza - Alfredo

  • 23 July 2007
Ibiza as we know it would not be the same without this man. A Timeless album from an Ibiza legend.
The Famous story of three young chaps called Oakenfold, Holloway and Rampling going on holiday to Ibiza and stumbling across Alfredo playing at Amnesia is one of the most important moments in house music history. Alfredo and his sets are the stuff of legend and here he presents us with a piece of musical history. An authentic set of what he was playing in amnesia just before the House Music Explosion happened.

Disc One sees an incredible mix of music Starting with Henry Mancini's, Pink Panther, Art of Noise, Yellow Mna, Soul to Soul, Tears for Fears and many more. Disc two is early Acid house all the way featuring such releases from Fingers Inc, Guy Called Gerald, Richie Rich, Joe Smaooth, KC Flight and More.

With a 16 page booklet and writing inner sleeve notes buy Bill Brewster this album really is a piece of dance music history.

**The Album was mixed with the original Vinyls used in 1987. All Vinyl Crackles are part of the recording and add an honesty to the recorded. Mixed and sounds as intended
